How do I get my player to get a contract for a better team his first year

Use the money you have earned to get a better manager he´s contacts plus a good season will land you a better team for sure.

Go to negotiations, choose teams that you wish to add as preferred teams by searching for clubs that meet your search criteria and then have your agent negotiate with these clubs, you'll be told if they are interested and then they'll come and watch you, it can take a while for you to get much feedback from these clubs, make sure you've already got in the first team and that you're getting picked regularly and performing well, also hire a better agent as soon as you can afford to, this worked for me, by the first transfer window in my opening season I had the choice of moving to Chelsea (London FC) or Valencia CF...I chose chelsea :D
