Question for Paws & Claws Pet Vet

Hi

My cat is rather unwell and I’m not happy and convinced in the vets diagnosis.

He was having problems peeing about 2 weeks ago, and kept going one everything but the cat litter. We took him to the vet and they tested his urine and said it come back negative but they thought he urine track was just a little swollen... They gave me some vallium to last a few days, which made him better, then a few days ago he started again.

He keeps limping on both legs, his poos have jelly around them, he’s thrown up everything in his belly, now hes just dry renching. He wont sit, he keeps hunching like he’s trying to go to the toilet – at first I thought he couldn’t go, but he has been going and the vet even said there doesn’t appear much there, so I'm convinced he just doesn’t like sitting down as that’s painfull.

He’s constantly liking and smelling his bottom – he has recently been wormed as well.

I’ve force fed him some water and dropped him at the vet this morning, who are now telling me it's a urinary problem again – which I'm not convinced on.

They’re going to hook him up to a IV for fluids and put in a catheda and keep him for a few days and all up going to cost about $500-$600. I’d pay that to save my cat no question, but I got the impression from their tone and language it’s more exploratory and a case of... “lets do this and see if this works... Maybe we’ll get lucky”

Can anyone help?
