click on the food dish then click on the food thing at the bottom of your screen.

You first need to click on the bag or can of food, it can be in the practice building or in the animal house, then you take the amount of portions you need (up to six) then you go to the animal dish click on it then the button that shows the food you need and then it goes into the bowl. :D hope it helps
