Well, here are a few ways to get more tips.

1. Get a good score on the customers. People without a customer award (obtained by getting five stars) can tip up to $3.00. 99 points gives $2.94, 98 points gives $2.88, and so on and so forth until 50 points gives nothing at all.

2. Pay Day. You could potentially screw up everybody's order and still get a paycheck every seven days. Remember that higher ranks increase the amount received on pay day.

3. Star Customers. When you ever get around getting five stars on a customer, they'll get a Customer Award. (That bronze thing that says "STAR CUSTOMER!") The next time they come around, not only do they order and grade faster, but they tip more and give more customer points. A bronze customer can tip up to $4.00, a silver customer (Obtained by getting five more stars on said bronze customer) can tip up to $5.00, and a gold customer (Five MORE stars on said silver customer) can tip up to $6.00.

4. Jojo's blue ribbon. If you played Freezeria for at least eight days, you know that the food critic comes around every seven days as a closer. If you get at least 80+ points on him, he'll give you a blue ribbon. The blue ribbon lasts three days, and during those days, customers can tip up to $2.00 more than what they usually do. (Bronze gives up to $6.00 instead of $4.00, etc.)
