How do you solve this puzzle? I can't understand what it wants me to do. I am looking for a typewriter key and this may be where it is but I can't, no matter what I try, solve this puzzle. Can you help?

Open the puzzle, and search for a number. Go back to Toys For Brats and access the furnace. Set the temperature according to the number you find. Don't forget: you first need the pot holder. At the top of the furnace, some holes will burn. Go back to the puzzle and close and open the circles with the same pattern. The burning holes are the closed circles.
