How to get mods without download other stuff thinking it's the mod
Every mod video on Youtube I see has a link to a website where you download the mod you want. But every time I go to a different website I download something and it say "mod download complete" but when I go online it dosent download so what website can I go to without having that problem?

First get forge.
Once you have forge then run your game on the same version as the forge you downloaded. Do not run forge first!
Example:
You have 1.7.10. Forge. Run 1.7.10.
Then close minecraft.
Now, download the mod and put it on your desktop.
Go to your start menu and type in %appdata% or .minecraft.
Make a folder and label it "mods". No caps.
Put downloaded mod into folder.
Now, re open minecraft and run the forge version.
To do that, go to your forge profile - already made - and click edit profile.
Click version and select the version of forge you downloaded and save your profile.
Then click play.
