If you click the add at the side of the diamond picture it should bring up a pop box, in this there is the option of earn diamonds, you can then click on Free diamonds, by this you have to register with several companies to answer questions and fill in surveys
If you're in the USA, you can't. There are some quests that give you a little diamonds for free. Have a nice time looking for diamond quests! Spoiler:
When I click on the + sign I just get the option to buy for real money. No quests for earning then. I'm in the UK.
