How come I can't fly like, the MD-80, MD-83, and Dash-8 stuff when they're in the aircraft folder?

What do you mean? If you have downloaded the aircraft from the enthernet it's not sure they will work?
But now I'm going to take the option that you got it from the enthernet...
Ehm...
When you open the folder there will ba a lot of folders (yes I'm smart xD)
Take the aircraft folder and put it in the C:programs/microsoft games/flight simulator 9/aircraft folder (you allready done that as far as I can see)

Take the effects and copy into C:programs/microsoft games/flight simulator 9/effects
Take the gauges and copy into C:programs/microsoft games/flight simulator 9/gauges
Take the modules and copy into C:programs/microsoft games/flight simulator 9/modules

Sometimes you need to copy more or less (differ from plane to plane)
(try wiht the : Hudges 500 (chopper)it's easy, there is only 2 files you need to copy - aircraft and... Ehm effects I think)
And sometimes you need to do a lot of small copy's but I can't do that yet (you need to do that with the: harrier and some of the realistic planes)

If you haven't downloaded the planes it's bechause you can see the planes around in the airports (in the game) and you can also see then fly.
