Question for Alabama Smith in Escape from Pompeii

I cannot save the game "Alabama smith in Pompeii". I've seen the question but no answers. I have Windows 7.

I also could not save the game.
When I switched the compatibality mode to Windows XP in properties, the game was saved each time I left it.

This worked for me to. Right click on the icon for Alabama Smith. Click properties. Click the tab at the top that says compatability. Check the box that says "Run in compatability mode. Use the drop down box and pick windows xp (service pack 3). Then it should work. If it doesn't show (sevice pack 3) pick any thing with windows xp. Hope this helps.
