I don't know,but i do know there are actually rare pets for non-members.

1. first type /join beleensdream
2. do all the quest's
3. kill the boss 5 or 3 times you should get either a love draglin or a pink draglin enjoy:D

The Necromancer Class can also obtain their own pet (A skeleton with a hammer) but if you are a non-member and don't have that much ACs you will need to get Rank 10 in Doomwood to get the Class

Yes the necromancer is non-member class but the pet is non-member too..

U can try going 2 the pyramids at sandsea and defeat the golden beetle until it drops a pet (itself). I (not a member) could equip it with no problem. I don't know if you can do this too.

There Is A Place That you can have a non member pet in /join beleensdream all you have to do is to kill the boss several times to get the pet

How to get Pink Draglins in AQW 2014
First thing:Sign in AQWorlds
Second thing:Choose a sever
Third thing:Type /join beleensdream
Fourth ting:Go to boss
Fifth thing:Beat the boss several times until you get a pet
Sixth thing:Equip the PinkDraglin pet and enjoy

Do /join beleensdream and do the quests there to get to the boss. Defeat that several time and you can get the pink draglin or the love draglin {both are non member}

You can get a non-member pet by playing the storyline. There is a time where you have to choose from good to evil. If you chose good, then you can get a green-blue pet (looks unknown) if you chose evil, you can get a purple-pink one (again looks unknown) I don't know much but this is all the info I could find and share. I Think it's free though (just a gut feeling)
