Well you can't dude because the game doesn't
Support joysticks I have tried but it didn't work

I use my saitek x52 for it. You have to disable optimal mode, and play original, makes it much easier on PC. However, it's so sensitive that you can't rebind the keys. This wouldn't be so terrible, except that the assault missions are unplayable. (using the pov hat to turn the chopper makes no sense, neither does pulling back on the joystick to move forward, or using the throttle stick to control elevation. )
