Good strategy for Silicoid; Easily beat Tutor

Added:

A good strategy in the early game is to immediately have your homeworld do housing and put all but one person onto production. Since Silicoids have a slow growth rate, this helps in the long run.

After you get full up, mass produce colony ships and scout with scouts. Colonize the highest mineral quality of planets first, don't bother with poor as it doesn't help you any, rich and Ultra Rich are your top priority as population will often grow like rabbits.

Be sure to get a good force of ships, I make sure to get battle pods (steal tech you don't get later using spies on repeat build) and fill ships with mostly nothing but missiles early game.

In the late game in a tutor game, you'll want ships like this:

WEapons: Phasors (Shield Piercing, Continuous, and Heavy Mount (can fire at anything in battle and does more damage, but up to you).

Systems: Rangemaster Unit, Achilles Targeting Unit, Structural Analyzer, High Energy Focus (optional, usually put heavy armor instead, gives more damage otherwise), Reinforced Hull, Battle Scanners, Damper field, and Time Warp Facilitator.

What his does is ignore shield and armor and damages the structure of a ship directly unless Hard Shields is on a ship, but you won't find that in Tutor usually. This ship can destroy several others in a single turn, and again in your one turn. This ship also works well with about 5 or 10 levels of Hyper-Advanced Physics levels as each level makes weapons smaller up to a point.

Plus the crew EXP level improves damage, you'll be doing up to 17 times more damage at the green crew level (If I remember correctly).

Enjoy destroying the Galaxy.
