Castle in the Darkness Cheats and Tips

Complete the following tasks to unlock the corresponding effect (accessed at the 'Title' screen).

Prologue Mode:

Die 10 times

Easy Mode:

Die 50 times

E3 Mode:

Die 100 times.

The Boomerang weapon can normally only be thown one at a time but if you charge up a spell and then release it and immediately press the attack button twice you will throw two Boomerangs instead of one. If you keep throwing them after they come back to you, you will be able to throw two Boomerangs for as long as you keep this going.

Complete the following tasks to unlock the corresponding ending.

Ending #1 Cutscene:

Complete the game with ending #1.

Ending #2 Cutscene:

Complete the game with ending #2.

Frog Epilogue Cutscene:

Collect 15 Frog Points in New Game+ and visit the Frog Lady at Agros Forest.

Original Intro Cutscene:

Find ALL 4 secrets in E3 mode.

You will be able to use the following screen effects by completing the corresponding tasks and then going to the 'Options' menu and changing 'Screen Effect'.

Grain:

Complete Prologue mode at Goal 1.

Crystal:

Complete Prologue mode at Goal 2.

Vignette:

Complete E3 mode.

The Frog can only become a playable character in New Game+. To play this boss which you encounter several times throughout the game you must enter the house in Alexandria where the vendor is selling the Wrong Sword. If you open the chest that is there and equip the Frog armour you can play as Frog.

This feature becomes unlocked when you complete the game with 100% and get Ending #2. New Game+ adds several new items and is tougher to complete.
