###########################SECTION I -- GAME BASICS##########################
------------------------------PART I - CONTROLS------------------------------
The manual does a good job of explaining the controls, but I am paraphrasing
it for those of you who imported or bought the game used.

The touchscreen and the buttons can be used almost interchangably, so you can
use whatever combination of the two you want.

MAP: Move the cursor around to search for people. If it is flashing green,
it means that a person is nearby. If it is flashing red/pink, it means that
a person is very close to it. Push A to go to that location once an icon
appears. You can also move the cursor to an actual building and push A to
go to it.

DUEL: Tap or push A on a card to be able to choose an action. B allows you
to go to a later phase in your turn. Select moves the sidebar to the opposite
side.

###########################SECTION II -- WALKTHROUGH##########################
----------------------------PART I - BEGINNERS' CUP---------------------------
The game begins with Seto Kaiba and Mokuba talking about an unknown person
hacking into their system. However, the hacker logs out before they can do
anything about it. You begin by choosing a name, city, place to visit, and
the like. Finally, Solomon asks you a few questions about what kind of cards
you like. All of the possible starter decks share certain cards, but the
answers you give determine what additional cards are added. See Asanque's
Starter Deck FAQ for more information. Finally, he asks you if you want to
play a tutorial game. Choose yes if you haven't played Yu-Gi-Oh! before,
but it probably is redundant if you have played Yu-Gi-Oh!. Once you are able
to move around, you can duel people, solve puzzles, read the help articles,
and modify your deck.

**********************************BC EVENTS***********************************
The events are listed in sequential order. Each requires the previous event
to be completed in order to occur. It may take a few game days for each
event to occur, so be patient and keep dueling, especially at night.

Event A: Keep dueling at night until you find Yami Yugi. When you find him,
he warns you about walking around at night and leaves.
Event B: The day after event A, you receive an email from KaibaCorp with the
         same warning.

Once both A and B have occurred, you will start to have random Shadow Games
when you walk at night. Be careful, if you lose a Shadow Game, it's Game Over!

Event C: Once you have dueled both Dox and Serenity, Dox will eventually
kidnap Serenity at night. Defeat him in a Shadow Game.
Event D: Sometime at night, Para will challenge you to a Shadow Game.
Event E (Level 8): The day after you finish D and are at level 8 or above,
Mokuba will wake you up and invite you to compete in the Beginners'
         Cup Finals.
Event F: The day after Mokuba invites you, Roland will take you	to the
         Beginners' Cup Finals.

---------------------------PART II - BC FINALS---------------------------
The Beginners' Cup Finals take place in the KaibaCorp tournament building.
You are allowed to save, purchase cards, and have duels against the
easy opponents (Ta, Serenity, Mokuba, Solomon). Once you are ready
to duel, talk to Roland. You face two opponents in the finals, and both games
are match games. You win a match game by winning two out of three duels.
(The manual describes the various possible outcomes.) The first duel
(semi-final) is against Joey Wheeler. In my opinion, he is actually harder
than the second opponent, Yugi Muto. Joey uses the same deck he had already
been using. It has a bunch of dice-related cards, which can be quite annoying
if you don't have good luck or spell/trap removal cards. Once you beat Joey,
you go back into the waiting room and are allowed to do the previously
mentioned actions. Once you are ready, talk to Roland again to duel Yugi.
Yugi's deck is more or less what he has been using up to this point.

Once you have defeated both Yugi and Joey, they and Roland will congratulate
you for your victory, but inform you that your prize pack of cards had been
stolen. However, you will still receive 1000 KCP for winning the Beginners'
Cup.

The next part of the game is about finding the thief and getting your prize
back.

------------------------PART III - FINDING THE THIEF------------------------
This part of the game begins with Yugi and Joey discussing what to do
about the thief. They decide to split up, and you get the opportunity
to save. Next, you can search the city for witnesses. Most of them aren't
very helpful, but once you find the one that mentions that the thief had
blond hair, Yugi will meet up with you and go to the shopping district.
Go there to see Joey wrongly accuse Mai of being the thief. Both Joey
and Mai run off, and you get to continue searching.

*******************************PART III EVENTS********************************
Event G: Keep searching until night, and you should eventually find Yugi. You
both hear a scream, and run to the warehouse. Joey just lost a duel
to the thief, Bandit Keith. Bandit Keith challenges you to a Shadow
Game. Win and he will claim that he isn't the thief and run off.

Event H: When you begin the next morning, you see Kaiba and Mokuba discussing
the theft. They decide to let the duelists find the thief for them.
Wake up to find Kaiba in your bedroom. He gives you an upgrade to
your duel disk that allows you to see how many stars an opponent has
before dueling them. The stars are determined by how strong the game
rates your opponent compared to you. It does change over time, so do
not expect to immediately identify someone by their number of stars.

Event I: Do what you want until night, and begin searching for a duelist with
about 3 stars. Once you find Bandit Keith, he will be interrupted by
Pegasus. Pegasus challenges you to a Shadow Game. Beat his toon deck
to get the Beginner's Cup Pack. It contains 3 rare cards. Kaiba
arrives to invite you and Yugi to the Expert's Cup. Joey, however,
is not invited by Kaiba. Of course, he participates anyway.

----------------------------PART IV - EXPERTS' CUP----------------------------
The morning after being invited by Kaiba, you immediately board the train to
the next city.

Event J: Once you arrive, Kaiba explains that the Expert Cup winner will be
crowned the next King of Games.

Duel whomever you find to get KC points to buy packs with.

Event K: Defeat Ishizu Ishtar 3 times to unlock Yami Bakura as an opponent. He
appears randomly when you find Bakura at night. Defeat him to proceed
         to the next event.

Event L: The morning after you finish Event K and are at level 12, you receive
an email about the Expert Cup finals and a party at Kaiba's mansion.
If you go to the mansion, you find that it is locked. Keep dueling
until the night of the next day. Roland will take you to Kaiba's
         mansion once it turns night.

Event M: Once you arrive at the mansion, Mokuba will interrupt Roland to give
an announcement. He turns out to be controlled by Noah, who is
planning to destroy the world. You will need to find and defeat all
five members of the Big Five in order to save the world. All of the
members have 5 stars. Search the second city to find the first four.
Once you defeat the fourth member, you will be asked to save the game.
You should save the game at this point. Find and defeat the fifth
member to be taken to Noah's military base. You search the base, only
to find that Kaiba lost to Noah (as Mokuba). Defeat Noah (as Mokuba,
and with Mokuba's deck), and then defeat Noah as himself. He uses
very powerful monsters, the strongest of which is Shinato. You will
then be confronted by Gozaburo. The military base is set to
self-destruct after the end of the 20th turn of this duel. You need
to defeat him quickly if you don't want to see "Game Over". Beat him
to find out that all of you were in Noah's virtual world. (starting
at about the point when Noah appeared) Noah realizes that what he
was doing was evil, so he prevents Gozaburo from harming you as you
escape. Once you wake up in Kaiba's mansion, you find Shinato and
its ritual card in your hand. (nope, it doesn't make sense.)
Pegasus, Para, and Dox are shown questioning what they were doing the
whole time. They were evidently controlled by Noah. You will then
go to the location of the Expert's Cup finals.

--------------------------PART V - EXPERTS' CUP FINALS------------------------
The Experts' Cup Finals take place in a different KaibaCorp tournament
building. You are allowed to save, purchase cards, and have duels against the
following opponents: Ta, Serenity, and Mai. Once you are ready to duel, talk
to Roland. You face three opponents this time around, and you will also be
forced to watch two of the other games. You must face Rebecca, Yami Bakura,
and Yami Yugi in match games. Like I mentioned before, you win a match game
by winning two out of three duels. The first duel is against Rebecca. She
uses a deck that gains life points for her and costs you life points. She
also uses Gravity Bind, a very annoying card that will prevent you from
attacking unless you have a trap removal card. Once you beat Rebecca twice,
you will watch Joey lose to Yami Bakura. The duel is the same for everyone
who watches it. For some odd reason, this duel counts as a loss against Yami
Bakura. You then go back into the waiting room and are allowed to do the
previously mentioned actions. Once you are ready, talk to Roland again to
duel Yami Bakura. His deck uses a lot of fiend monsters, so an Exile of the
Wicked or two might help you win. He also focuses on bringing out Dark
Necrofear. Win the match to watch Yami Yugi beat Seto Kaiba. This game is
much more even, and it is actually somewhat entertaining. This game counts
as a win against Seto Kaiba. You will then return to the waiting room again.
Your final opponent is Yami Yugi. His deck focuses on Dark Magician and its
long list of support cards. Beat him twice to become the next King of Games!
Your prizes include 2000 KCP, the Expert's Cup Prize Pack, and the ability to
use at most one banned card in your deck. Of course, all of your opponents
also get that ability. You will then go home for the night. Sleep to begin
part VI.

---------------------------PART VI - THE RARE HUNTERS-------------------------
This section of the game involves the Rare Hunters from the Battle City part
of the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, and the story is similar. Once this part begins, you
will begin to be challenged by Rare Hunters at night.

Event N: Find Ishizu Ishtar again, this time in the first city(she should have
about 3 stars). She will ask you if you prefer Unity or Power.
Regardless, you must face Seto Kaiba for an Egyptian God Card. If you
win, you receive a god depending on your choice. Unity gets you
Slifer the Sky Dragon, and Power gets you Obelisk the Tormentor. Yami
Yugi gets the one you don't choose. The Winged Dragon of Ra was
stolen from Ishizu, and she asks you to retrieve it for her.

Event O: After receiving a god card, you will start to be challenged to Shadow
Games at night more often by the Rare Hunters.

Event P: After a few duels with the Rare Hunters, look for a duelist icon with
no stars in the second city to find Namu. He will compliment you but
refuse to duel such a powerful opponent.

Event Q: Duel at night until you are stopped by Rare Hunter. He uses an Exodia
deck. Beat him, and his mind is controlled by Marik. Marik taunts
you, and Yami Yugi arrives soon after to warn you about other Rare
         Hunters.

Event R: Look for Joey Wheeler (~4 stars) during the day in the second city.
He is under Marik's control. Win to learn more about Marik's plans.

Event S: Find Yami Yugi (~5 stars) during the day. Tea will appear, but she
is also under Marik's control. She will then leave. Look for her
(~1 star) and win to free her. Yami Yugi arrives to tell everyone
         to look for strange people.

Event T: Find Odion (~3 stars) in the second city. He is pretending to be
Marik. He is one of the few Rare Hunters who does not stop you when
you are moving. He uses a lot of trap cards, so Jinzo and/or Royal
Decree are useful here. When you beat him, Namu reveals that he is
Marik, but Yami Marik (his dark side) takes control. Ishizu explains
         how he became evil.

Event U: Find Joey Wheeler again in the second city (~4 stars). Marik explains
that he has a stronger hold on Joey's mind and that winning might
         harm him.

Event V: Find Yami Yugi (~5 stars) in the second city. You inform him of
Marik's message, and he realizes that a tie would free Joey's mind.
He gives you two cards to help you force a draw: Ring of Destruction
         and Self-Destruct button.

Event W: Find Joey once again in the second city. This time he agrees to duel
you, but reminds you that a win would harm Joey's mind/body. Make
sure that you drop BOTH player's life points to 0 at the same time to
force a draw. Winning or losing results in a Game Over. Yami Marik
appears afterwards to laugh at you, Joey, and Yami Yugi.

Event X: This event is available once W is completed. You have as much time as
you need to get more points, cards, and do whatever you want. Once
you feel that you are ready, look for a 5-star duelist at night in
the second city. This is always Yami Marik. Duel him in a Shadow
Game. You must reduce his life points to 0 using your god card to
complete this event. Winning normally gives you experience and
points, but you can't proceed until you strike the final blow to his
life points using your chosen god card. If you win without your god
card, Yami Yugi arrives and explains that you need to defeat Yami
Marik using your god card. After the credits roll, be sure to save
your game when asked if you don't want to lose your progress.

----------------------------PART VII - THE REMAINDER--------------------------
This part of the game is about collecting the rest of the cards.

Event Y: After the credits, you'll notice that Noah's base reappeared in the
water outside of the second city. You won't be able to enter it,
however, until you reach level 20.

Event Z: Once you get to level 20, the Duel Base reappears. However, this
time it is run by KaibaCorp. In it are three courses to try. Each
pits you against a few duelists in a row. You can enter the Duel
Base any time you want to try one or more of the courses.

Course 1 pits you against the Kaiba family. You must face all four
of them in a row: Mokuba, Noah, Seto Kaiba, and Gozaburo Kaiba.
Completing the course earns you 400 KCP and the Course 1 Clear
         recipe.

Course 2 has five opponents that you must face: the members of the
Big Five. They use the same decks as before, so be ready to face
all five of them in a row. Completing the course earns you 500 KCP
and the Course 2 Clear recipe.

Course 3 includes most of the Rare Hunters. They are: Rare Hunter,
Arkana, Lumis, Umbra, Odion, and Yami Marik. Completing this course
earns you 600 KCP and the Course 3 Clear recipe.

Also, once you get to level 23, you receive two emails that tell you how to
unlock the sound test and watch the credits. The sound test password is
57300000. The credits password is 00000375. You must pay 1000 KCP to use the
passwords, but you will immediately get a full refund. Both only work once
you defeat Yami Marik.

############################SECTION IV - OPPONENTS############################
----------------------------PART I - OPPONENT LIST----------------------------
The following is a table of most of the opponents in this game. The english
names are followed in parentheses by the Japanese names. The next column is
whether or not they force you to duel in Shadow Games. The opponents that
have both Y (yes) and N (no) change at the point in parentheses. The third
column are their feelings towards you after the first duel. The fourth column
is the first point of the game at which the opponent can be dueled. The fifth
column is the (average? I haven't tested this fully yet.) amount of duels it
takes to register the duelist in your duel disk. The final column is the
minimum amount of duels it takes for each opponent to be interested in trading
cards. Characters begin to randomly ask for trades once their status is at
least at neutral. (:|) I think getting the yellow XD status prevents them from
unregistering you, but I'm not sure.

##########################SECTION V- KAIBACORP POINTS#########################
---------------------------PART I - ACQUIRING POINTS--------------------------
There are a few different ways to get points in Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare
Troubadour. The main way is by defeating duelists. Each duelist is worth
a different number of points. This depends also on what point you are at in
the game. You also get points by completing puzzles for the first time. The
beginner puzzles are worth 50 points each, intermediate puzzles are worth
100 points each, and expert puzzles are worth 150 points each. I am not going
to write a puzzle faq because the current ones are already complete. The final
way to get points is by completing the Beginner's Cup Finals and the Expert's
Cup Finals. The Beginner's Cup Finals are worth 1000 points, and the Expert's
Cup is worth 2000 points.

--------------------------------PART II - USES--------------------------------
KaibaCorp points have various uses in this game. They are mainly used to buy
new packs of cards. Each pack has 5 cards, and each pack costs 150 points.
Points are also used to purchase individual cards at the password machine
after the Expert's Cup. Each card costs 1000 KCP, and must be a repeat of a
card you already own or have the pack list for.

####################SECTION VI - FAQ and MISCELLANEOUS STUFF##################
---------------------------------PART I - FAQ---------------------------------
Q1. How do I get (insert God card name here)?
A1. To get Slifer (Osiris) or Obelisk, you have to beat Kaiba for it in Event
    N. After that event, you can trade with Yami Yugi for the other of the
two if you beat him with the god card you have in your trunk (and you need
to be friends with him, see the opponent section above.) You can get The
Winged Dragon of Ra by trading with Marik (not Yami Marik) after Event X.

Q2. Why can't I find (insert character name here)?
A2. Keep looking. If you can't find a character in one town, try the other
one. Also, if you're looking for a character that duels you in a Shadow
Game, duel at night as often as possible.

Q3. Can anything be missed in this game? If so, what?
A3. The only things that can be missed are Imperial Order and Pegasus's deck
recipe. There seems to be a glitch with Pegasus which causes him to
disappear sometime after the Expert Cup Finals in the Japanese and North
American versions of the game. Make sure to trade with him for Imperial
Order and get his recipe before he leaves.

-------------------------PART II - MISCELLANEOUS STUFF------------------------
***************************FUNNY TRANSLATION ERRORS***************************
The following are exact quotes from the game:

Namu: "My name in Namu."
Ishizu: "This make me happy."
Joey: "Woah. You've getting better and better."
Odion: "Master Ishizu."
Roland: "Congratulations on clearness."
Roland: "Information on various Duerist is input to the Duel Base by the
         technology of KaibaCorp."
Roland: "It challenges playing duel continuously in the Duel Base."
Roland: "It fights against six duelists in this course."
Roland: "Moreover, come at any time when coming want to challenge."
Seto Kaiba: "Next, when meeting, I win."
Seto Kaiba: "This victory is entrusted to you."
Tea: "Atmosphere badness is embarrassed somehow, but Bakura's been
      acting weird."
Yami Yugi: "He seemed to be obviously painful."
Yami Yugi: "The victory ceremony starts slowly. Lets return!"
Yami Yugi: "Was it safe...you...? You were dueling in a Shadow Game with
Marik. He can knock it down only by the Egyptian God Card.
Moreover, take care when meeting Marik. Egyptian God Card is put
            in your deck. Then."
You: "I will not go out because slowness today."
You: "Let's already return."

***********************************GLITCHES***********************************
1. Blue Medicine only raises your life points, not both you and your opponent.
2. Deck Destruction Virus is actually Crush Card in this game. It has the
   wrong effect listed.
3. When you look at the image of Aqua Chorus, the name on the card is
   Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
4. Inferno Fire Blast has the option to "activatre."
5. Sage's Stone is listed as Sage's Jewel.
6. The picture on Widespread Ruin is incorrect.
7. Mystical Beast Serket has King's Temple in its effect instead of Cathedral
of Nobles. It still works properly.
