====================INTRODUCTION===============================================

I have now compiled all of my River King guides into one. Look at the table
of contents to see all! xD Item and Equipment guides coming soon! Well...I'll
be sure to make one...eventually...^^"

If anyone has questions, comments, or anything to contribute to the parts I've
completed in this guide, feel free to email me at [email protected].
Notifying me about any errors or corrections in this guide is also welcome no
matter how small, even if its just a typo. Oh, and please include the words
'Mystic Valley' , 'River King', and 'walkthrough' so I can tell which guide
for this game you're talking about. Also, it makes sure that it's not spam. X3

===============================================================================
====================THINGS I NEED TO CONFIRM==================================

So far, this guide has completed events up to the Mountain River. So...don't
email me anything about anything after that. However, you may contact me about
anything I've covered so far in this walkthrough. I have a few questions
myself I need answered! XD Of course, credit will be given to those who help
answer these. =)

1) Any locations of fish, plants, and bugs missing. Please note I need the
   exact slot it goes into in your fishing stats because that is the order I'm
   listing them in.

2) Any cards missing. Please specify where it is located in the card folder and
   refer to the card layout in the Card Guide section. If the fish is already
   listed but has no info, it means I already have the card and I'm just too
   lazy to fill it in yet...or too busy.

3) Any fish the pets like or dislike that is not listed yet.

4) Anything else you think I should add.

5) Ah. The ranks. I forgot to keep track of them...^^" Lets see...

   Beginner: 500 Energy
   Amateur: 600 Energy
   Intermediate: 700 Energy
   Expert: 800 Energy
   Master: 900 Energy
   Grandmaster: 1000 Energy

6) Anything else I did wrong or is missing. X3

-Saving your Game
-----
To save your game, go to your house and talk to Yunna. You will have the
option of saving your game.

-----
-Resting
-----
To rest or replenish your energy, sleep in your bed at your house. When you
wake up it will be morning.

-----
-Fishing
-----
First make sure you have a rod with compatible bait. Otherwise, pick the
rod and the kind of bait you're going to use at the equipment menu.
Now press the L button. To throw out your line, draw a line from your character
to the spot in the water you want to fish and your character will cast the
line. When a fish starts to nibble the bait, wait for the floater to go
completely underwater. Then tap the floater to start fishing. It may be easier
just to use the X, Y, A, B Buttons to fish though.

Tips:
-Try to throw the line about a centimeter in front of the fish you are trying
to catch.
-If you cast the line on top of the fish, the fish will be scared away.
-Fish will only notice your lure if the lure is in front of it.
-If the area you are fishing in does not have a current, try to get the lure
in front of the fish you want.
-If there is a current, try to use it to your advantage by allowing it to
carry your lure closer to the fish.
-Use the reel to get your lure in the right spot if you are too far.

Top Screen:

Your picture and the blue bar shows your stamina. Decreases as you fish.

Rod and the red bar shows the tension of the line. If the bar fills, then
your line will snap and fish will get away.

Bottom Screen:
To reel in the fish, draw small circles on the fish until it goes to
the top of the screen.
If the fish decides to run, wear it down by tapping the right or left side
of the screen.

-----
-Bugs and Plants
-----
To search for bugs and plants, just press the A button in front of a bush or
something like that. In each area, there are specific searchable spots. You
can't just search anywhere. I will list how many spots are searchable in each
area. Pets will make a noise when you are near a searchable spot!

===============================================================================
===================+WALKTHROUGH================================================

<Beginning Scene>
-----
Senri is fishing at the Pond. He finishes and starts walking home. On the way
he sees Sasara looking around the trees and bushes. Sasara says hi and decides
to come over to eat breakfast with Senri and Yunna. Senri goes home to wake
Yunna up but can't. Sasara comes in and checks Yunna. Sasara doesn't know why
Yunna can't wake up. Senri paces around the room. Sasara comes in and believes
Yunna's condition is because of some influence in the forest. She suggests
that Senri go talk to the forest people. Sasara leaves.
-----

Now you're free to control your character for the first time. If you talk to
Yunna, you can choose to save your game. There's no point in resting in your
bed since your energy is already full. There's nothing else to do here so
head on out to the Pond.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----
-Pond
-----
Characters in this area:
-Sasari
-Jango
-Hiro (Daytime only)
-???

Sasara is located in the northwest area and will trade you things for cards.
Jango is located in the southwest area and will sell you all kinds of items.
Hiro is located near the road to your house.

Searchable Spots:
-----
-Bush and trees near where Hiro is standing.
-Bushes to the left of Jango.
-Tree stumps on the right side of the pond.
-Single bush on the northern side of the pond right of Sasari.

<Pond Scene>
-----
Sasara will approach you and ask you if you know how to fish. If you select
the first option "Well, um...", she will go on and tell you how to fish.
If you choose the second option "Of course!", then she will just tell
you about cards. If you bring a certain number of fish to her she will trade
you a card for them. Sasara gives you a Card Folder.
-----

Talk to Hiro and he will tell you that there's a strange 'guy' on the road
to the river. Head over to the southeast area to see an orange blob. Talk to
it to activate a scene.

<Hungry Monster Scene>
-----
You will hear the monster's stomach growl. You then have the option of feeding
it fish. Don't feed it and it will have a frustration mood bubble. Feed it a
fish and it will still be hungry. Feed it another fish and it will still be
hungry. Feed it a third fish and it will finally be full. It will want to join
you as a pet. You then name it.
-----

Job Memo #1:
-----
(Rescue the monster's? child)
Description: A monster's? child hungry and unable to move in the middle
of the road. ...Maybe it will eat some fish?

You can now go to the Mountain Stream area.

Talk to Hiro after completing Job Memo #1 and obtaining at least one bug card.
You will have the option of getting bug cards for Hiro. If you say yes, Hiro
will give you rewards for the bug cards.

Here is the order of cards he will ask you for:

-Cricket Card
-Cabbage Butterfly Card
-Scarab Card
-Swallowtail Butterfly Card
-Cicada Card
-Pine Cricket Card
-Lesser Emperor Card
-???

Looks like what you get from Hiro is random, but is always either Snacks,
Rice Balls, and Lunch Boxes. I, as for one, never used any food...what's the
point if you have Kyuubi with you? xD And you can just go back home and rest
in your bed anyways. O.o

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----
-Mountain Stream
-----
Characters in this area:
-Ayaha (Daytime only)
-Ren (Daytime and after meeting Ayaha only)
-Tree Spirit
-??? (Morning and after reuniting Ren and Ayaha)

Ayaha is located on the left and southern side of the stream the first time.
Ayaha is located on the right and southern side of the stream after finding
Ren.
Ayaha is located on the left and southern side of the stream when she is with
???.
Ayaha is located on the right and southern side of the stream after getting your
second pet.
Ren will be fishing on the right and southern side of the stream.
The Tree Spirit is located on the right and northern side of the stream.
??? will be found on the left southern side of the stream.

Please note that Ren and Ayaha will be in different areas as you progress
through the storyline.

Searchable Spots:
-----
-Grassy area west of the flat stones.
-Pile of rocks south of the flat stones.
-Trees south of the grassy patch by the Tree Spirit
-Southeastern area behind the breakable rocks.

Talk to Ayaha to activate a scene.

<Crying Ayaha Scene>
-----
She's crying and then notices you. She asks who you are. You talk to your pet
and take Ayaha to your house. She apologizes for crying. She says she came
with her brother but got separated. She was crying because she was scared and
alone, but then you came. She was so relieved she started crying again. She
asks who your pet is. Choose the first option and Ayaha will say it is cute.
Ayaha then asks if there's someone else in your house. Ayaha says you may
be able to help your sister if you can catch the River King. She wishes you
luck. Ayaha says she is going to go back to the mountain stream to look for
her brother. She thanks you and leaves.
-----

Leave your living room and return back to it. A scene will occur.

<Ren Scene>
-----
He says he's sorry to bother you but is looking for his sister. He says they
were walking around when he noticed she was gone. He describes her and asks
if you've seen her. You say you know her and he asks where you saw her. Choose
the second option. He will then ask you to take him to her. You and Ren will
walk to where Ayaha first was. Ren apologizes to Ayaha. She forgives him. They
say it's because of you that they found each other. They both thank you. Ayaha
tells Ren about your sister and her problem. Ayaha asks Ren if he can tell
you anything about the River King. Ren is silent. He then asks Ayaha if she
knows why he came here. Ren says he also came to catch the River King. Ren
doesn't know where the River King is either. Ren says he will be glad to
cooperate with you. He says you need to be well prepared and equipped to catch
the River King. Ren gives you 3 Panacea Bait and Legendary Bait for finding
Ayaha. Ren and Ayaha leave.
-----

Talk to the Tree Spirit and it will say it's really itchy. You will search
the tree and get a Cicada.

<Tree Spirit Scene>
-----
The tree spirit will say how much better he is. He'll notice you and say
how considerate you are. He asks for your name. He tells you to keep the bug.
He says if you ever need help, go see him.
-----

Talk to the Tree Spirit to activate another scene.

<Tree Spirit Scene 2>
-----
You tell him about your sister. The Tree Spirit says it's very bad if someone
doesn't wake up. He then talks about the River King, a fish that lived in the
forest area since ancient times. The Tree Spirit says you need to get a scale
and boil it to make a drink. He doesn't know where the River King is because
the River King seems to change locations. You get frustrated. The Tree Spirit
assures you that the River King is definitely in the forest somewhere. He says
that you should practice your fishing if you want to catch it. He then mentions
other monsters in the forest that may help you. He wishes you luck.
-----

Once you hear about the River King, when you go to your menu screen, the bottom
right corner will say: River King 1 Day. The day count increases with each day
from the day you first learn about the River King. I'm assuming that this just
tells you how many days it took for you to find the River King.

After the scenes with Ayaha, Ren, and the Tree Spirit, return to the Mountain
Stream in the morning and go to the left southern area of the river to find a
green monster. Talk to it to activate a scene.

<Green Monster Scene>
-----
The monster will hop to the river. Ayaha will ask you what's wrong. She remarks
that the monster looks like your monster. She wonders what's wrong. Ayaha asks
if the monster wants to go in the river, but apparently not cause the monster
then shows a frustration mood bubble. Ayaha then figures it out and realises
the monster wants to go down the river. You wonder how she knew and she says
it was just a feeling. She then says it's too dangerous to go in the river
by yourselves. Choose the first option and Ayaha will agree to think of a way
with you. She decides to stay there with the monster.
-----

Now go to the right side of the river and you will see a log next to the
wooden bridge. Examine the log using the A Button and you will activate yet
another scene.

<Log Scene>
-----
Ayaha will ask if you found a way. You say yes and you tell her about the log.
She will say that you can use the log as a boat and put the monster on it. The
monster seems to agree with the plan. Now you need to figure out how to get
the log over. After some thinking Ayaha comes up with an idea. She says her
brother can help. She asks you to get him.
-----

Go to the right southern side of the stream to find Ren. Talk to Ren to
activate a scene.

<Help from Ren Scene>
-----
Ren asks what it is. You tell him. Ren says he doesn't mind helping out but
is looking for a White-Spotted Trout card. He says he doesn't like stopping
in the middle of things. He says he will help you after he gets the card. He
apologizes to you.
-----

Well, looks like you've got some fishing to do if you don't have that card.
You'll need 5 White-Spotted Trout, which can be found right here in the
Mountain Stream. They're the biggest fish around here so you should have no
trouble telling which ones are the White-Spotted Trout. Once you get the card,
return to Ren to activate a scene.

<Card for Ren Scene>
-----
Ren asks you if you're giving him the card. Choose the first option to give
the card to him. Ren then says it's time to help you out with the monster.
You and Ren carry the log over to where Ayaha and the monster is. Ayaha thanks
both of you. You put the monster on top of the log. Ayaha wonders if the
monster will be okay. After a while the monster will break the stone blocking
the path on the left southern side of the river. Ayaha says the monster looks
like it's thanking you guys for your help. Ren says he's going back. Ayaha also
leaves. Now you get to name your second pet!
-----

Now you will return to your home and be given instructions on how to choose
which pet you want to go with you. Basically, you approach the pet you want
to take with you and touch it with the stylus. The pet menu will appear and
you select the 'Change Pet' option.

Anyhow, you can now travel to the Waterfall!

If you talk to the Tree Spirit after getting your second pet, he will tell you
the ability of the pet you currently have with you. The first has the power
to heal and the second has the power to smash rocks. There are rocks south
of the Tree Spirit. If your green pet grows enough, it will be able to smash
those rocks to reveal another search spot.

During another day, during Daytime, if you head over to the Mountain Stream,
you can experience a scene with Ren and his sister Ayaha.

<Ren and the Great Brown>
-----
Ren will fish a Great Brown and Ayaha will be impressed. Ren says you can find
Great Browns in the upperstream area. Ren says that Chum will lure them out!
Ren offers to let Ayaha try. Ayaha refuses and says she just likes watching
the fish.
-----

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----
-Waterfall
-----
Characters in this area:
-Sachi (Daytime only)
-Manato (Morning and Daytime only)
-Arai (Morning and Night only)

Sachi is located in the northwestern area.
Manato is located in the southwestern area.
Arai will be located in the southeastern area after you bring Manato an
Ayu that is at least 8 inches long.

Searchable Spots:
-----
-Tree on the left and northern area.
-Tree on the left and southern area.
-Stone wall on the right and northern area.
-Grass on the rocks in the middle of the river.

In the northeastern area, there are a set of rocks that your green monster
pet can break once it grows up enough.

Talk to Manato to activate a scene.

<Meeting Manato Scene>
-----
He asks you if you're also a fisherman and you say yes. He says it's great.
Then he tells you he's the best fisherman around here. He asks you to be
his apprentice. Manato challenges you and tells you to catch Ayu 8 inches or
larger. Choose the first option and he'll say you have spirit. He tells you
that he will be waiting there.
-----

Well, you know what to do. Go catch an Ayu fish 8 inches or longer!
I finally caught an Ayu that was 10 inches after like an hour...x_x Give him
the Ayu to activate a scene.

<The Ayu and Manato Scene>
-----
He accepts you as his rival. He says he'll never lose. You're just like,"Yeah,
right."
-----

Have you noticed the basket of stuff blocking the southeastern path? Now Arai
will be there. Go talk to Arai (green dude) to activate a scene.

<Arai Adzuki Scene>
-----
Your pet will call out to Arai. Yours may say something different but mine
said, "Hey! Old man!". Now for no reason your pet and Arai get pissed at
each other. You tell Arai that you want to get through but that he is in the
way. He won't move until he gets all his beans washed. He tells you to come
back later. Now you get pissed off. You then call him slow. He challenges you
to wash beans. -.- Say yes, to hear instructions. If you already know how,
just say no. Now it's time to wash beans! Beat him and he'll be surprised.
He now allows you to pass through!
-----

After unblocking this path, Ren and Ayaha will be at the Waterfall and Manato
will be gone. Well, Manato will now be found at the Pond and you may compete
with him at fishing. In the tournament, Ren will get 5 fish, and Manato will
get 2 fish. So get at least 6 fish and you will win. The winner gets a Snack.
After winning, you may compete again at the Mountain Stream and so on.

-Stream

Characters in this area:
-Nekomata
-Yasu (Day only)
-???

Nekomata is located a little south of the entrance.
Nekomata is located southwestern after the ??? disappears.
Yasu is located southwestern of the river.
??? is located a little south of the entrance.

Searchable Spots:
-----
-Trees to the left of the entrance
-Trees to the right of the entrance
-Two trees in the middle of the circle-path
-Southwestern patch of trees
-Northwestern log

Go a bit south and you will see Nekomata and a blue monster. Talk to Nekomata
to activate a scene.

<Nekomata and ??? Scene>
-----
Apparently Neomata is abusing the poor thing. She says she's playing but you
say the ??? isn't having fun. Nekomata apparently tries to beat you up and
then the ??? disappears! Nekumata then walks across the river.
-----

There are a set of rocks your second pet can break to the northwestern area.
There is a searchable log here.

During Daytime, head to the Waterfall to activate a scene between Ren and
Ayaha.

<Ren and Ayaha Scene>
-----
Ayaha shows Ren some Cottonweed she found. Ayaha then goes on talking about
Cottonweed but Ren is too occupied to listen. Then Ren shows Ayaha a white
Seema he caught. He asks her if she thinks it's pretty. Then Ren tells her
he was listening all along. They keep talking...
-----

Now talk to Sachi to activate yet another scene.

<Sachi Scene>
-----
She says she's been watching and says you're really good at fishing. She
wonders if she can fish when she's older. Then she notices your plant cards.
Well, we can all see where this is going. *cough* Hiro *cough* Sachi asks
where you got your card and you tell her. She says she's too afraid to go
talk to Sasara. Say yes to help her get cards. First she wants a White Clover
Card.
-----

Here is the order of the cards she will ask you to get:

-White Clover Card
-Dandelion Card
-Bellflower Card
-Amur Adonis Card
-Daikon Radish Card
-Cottonweed Card
-Catnip Card
-Chinese Milk Yetch Card
-Daffodil Card
-???

Looks like what you get from Sachi is random, but is always either Snacks,
Rice Balls, and Lunch Boxes.

Go to the Mountain Stream and talk to the Tree Spirit to activate a scene.

<Tree Spirit and Nekomata Scene>
-----
You tell the Tree Spirit about Nekomata. You're mad and your pet says that
you guys need to do something now. The Tree Spirit says you don't need to rush
it. The Tree Spirit walks <.< to the river. He thinks of something to do and
tells you to listen to his intructions. He tells you to find adzuki, a fish,
and a red cloth. He doesn't know where to find the adzuki and cloth though.
When you get all three items, give them to Nekomata.
-----

Let's start the item hunt. First of all, the fish can be any kind and I
assume you have at least one fish in your basket, so that's done with. If not,
go catch one right now. o_o

Go to the Waterfall and talk to Arai to activate a scene.

<Arai Scene>
-----
He thinks you want a rematch. You tell him you need adzuki. He gets mad at this
and talks about how much care he put into raising and cleaning them. Arai
suddenly realizes he forgot to eat because he was busy washing the beans. He
says if you bring him 5 Seema he will talk about it.
-----

Well you know what to do. Fish up 5 Seema and go talk to Arai again to activate
a scene.

<Arai and Seema Scene>
-----
Arai will notice that you brought the fish. Choose the 5 Seema you are going
to give him. He then asks what you wanted. You remind him again and Arai said
he never said he'd give you any. He says if you want any, you need to wash
them yourself. He tells you to go. Either way if you manage to wash them in
time or fail to wash them all in time, Arai will still give you some adzuki
because he got some Seema. He then tells you to hurry up and help the monster
child.
-----

Now go home, an event will occur where Ayaha visits Yunna.

<Ayaha and Yunna Scene>
-----
Ayaha comes in and says she has come to see how Yunna was doing. She asks you
what's wrong and you tell her. She gets all sad and says she understands you.
Then she asks if you're also taking care of Yunna. She says Yunna will get
lonely. Choose the first option and Ayaha tells you to be a good brother. She
then suggest you go pick a Bellflower for Yunna.
-----

Well go get a Bellflower if you don't have one yet. Return to your house and
talk to Ayaha once you have a Bellflower to activate the next scene.

<Ayaha and Bellflower Scene>
-----
Ayaha thinks Yuna will be thrilled. You put the Bellflower by Yunna's pillow.
Yunna sniffs and says it smells good. (Weird.) Ayaha thanks you and tells you
to remember to check on Yunna. Ayaha then talks about you needing a red cloth.
And...Ayaha gives you one! Then she also gives you a Lunch Box for being a
good brother. She leaves and wishes you luck with the monster child.
-----

Now you have all three items! Go to the Stream and talk to Nekomata to start
a scene.

<Fish, Red cloth, and Adzuki Scene>
-----
First pick a fish you're going to give her. Nekomata looks really happy. Then
her body starts dancing by herself...o.0 For some reason she feels great today.
Your pet tells Nekomata to return the child. Apparently Nekomata totally forgot
about it. Well, Nekomata puts back the child. The monster hides behind you.
Nekomata leaves and you now have your third pet! You will now name it.
-----

Go home to experience a scene.

<Arai at Home Scene>
-----
Looks like Arai was waiting for you at your house. Arai says he came to share
some of his adzuki with you and your sister. He says there won't be a problem
once you catch the River King, so he gives you Chum. He wishes you luck with
your training. Arai says he stayed too long and leaves. Your first pet asks
why he came. She accuses him of breaking and entering. xD
-----

Now, if you talk to Arai at the Waterfall, he will let you wash some adzuki if
you give him a fish. (Err...you have to pay him to help him?) He will only let
you wash them once a day.

Go over to the Mountain Stream and head over to where the Tree Spirit is. You
will see a Kappa bathing in the water next to the tree. Talk to him to activate
a scene!

<Kappa Scene>
-----
Ehhh? The Tree Spirit vanished into thin air. o.o Anyways, the Kappa asks what
he can do for you. You want to know where he came from. He says he came from
up the river. Kappa starts describing what it's like up there. Kappa says it's
dangerous up there. Then the Kappa says he doesn't have that much free time to
help you get up there. Then he says that if you really need his help, he will
help you if you get him his favorite treat, a cucumber!
-----

Let's start our search for the cucumber. Or not. Just go to the River and
steal Yasu's cucumber. :D Talk to Yasu to activate a scene.

<Yasu and his Cucumber Scene>
-----
Yasu says it's true he has a cucumber instead of his usual snack. Then he asks
if you're trying to steal his snack. You say you're not. You tell him the
situation. He thinks about it...and he wants an Ishikawa Salmon for his dang
cucumber.
-----

You can find Ishikawa Salmon at the Mountain Stream and Waterfall, so go
catch one if you don't have one in your basket right now. Once you have your
fish, go talk to Yasu and give him the right fish to activate another scene.

<Yasu's Ishikawa Salmon Scene>
-----
Give him the fish and he will be all happy. Then you get your cucumber!
-----

Go back to the Kappa at the Mountain Stream and talk to him to activate yet
another scene.

<Kappa and Cucumber Scene>
-----
Errr...what a weird pose...but Okay...well the Kappa starts spazzing out about
the cucumber. He then takes you up the river. You ride on his back...xD He
drops you off and swims away. You walk back through the grass to where you
started. The Kappa is surprised to see you back already. You then ask him
about the fallen beat up tree and he tells you it used to be a bridge.
-----

You can now go to the Upper Waterfall!

Go to the Stream to activate a scene involving Ren and Ayaha.

<Ren and Ayaha and Manato Scene>
-----
Ayaha asks Ren what is in this stream. Ren names a few. The scene changes to
the other side and you see Manato saying how cute Ayaha is. He starts talking
about her qualities and what not. Then he starts saying how he wants her to
fall for him but how Ren is in the way and how he's good looking and good at
fishing and her brother too. Manato gets all teary-eyed and says he wants to
take her out on a date...<.<
-----
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----
-Upper Waterfall
-----
Characters in this area:
-Weasel (Morning and Daytime only)
-Miyuki (Daytime only)
-Plaster Wall

Weasel is located to the right of the waterfall.
Miyuki is located near the entrance of this area.
Plaster Wall is located behind the boulders.

Searchable Spots:
-----
-Trees to the left from where you enter this area
-Northern trees to the left of the waterfall
-Right behind the waterfall
-Southeast area, almost at the very bottom, past the boulders.

Talk to the Weasel to activate a scene.

<Weasel Scene>
-----
He asks you if you take care of flowers. He then says he loves flowers and all.
He says he will appreciate it if you also take care of them, and your pet says
of course, and so the weasel is happy and whatever. He asks you to trim weeds
with him. Now you may listen to an explanation on how to trim weeds, if you
already know how, go ahead and say no. Now you will trim weeds, and watch out
for the flowers! If you do well, the weasel will ask you to join him on a weed
cutting journey...o_O Then he says he was just joking. He will now reward you
with 3 Rice Balls and 1 Chum.
-----

South of the Weasel, is a set of boulders. Go ahead and smash them with your
Tanuki pet. There is another search spot here and also a freakin' wall in the
way...that's sleeping. x_x

Anyways, remember those huge purple weeds to the right of the Waterfall?
Examine the weeds and then go to the Weasel at the Upper Waterfall to start
a scene.

<Weasel and Weeds Scene>
-----
He asks you if you want to cut weeds. You explain the situation to him. He
asks for 5 Char =.= 'cause a monster can't help a human for free'.
-----

Char can be found right here at the Upper Waterfall. They're pretty common
here too. Fish up 5 if you don't have any yet and then return to the Weasel
for a scene.

<Weasel and Char Scene>
-----
His stomach growls and tells you he was getting hungry when he was waiting for
you. The weasel then tells you to get going. The Weasel cuts up all the purple
weeds for you.
-----

You can now go to the Swamp!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----
-Swamp
-----
Characters in this area:
-Ogre Child
-Kazu (Daytime Only)
-Nanayo (Daytime Only)

Ogre Child is located in the northwestern area of the Swamp, past the boulder.
Kazu is located just past where the rock was blocking the way.
Nanayo is located on the northeastern side of the southern swamp pond.

Searchable Spots:
-----
-Western tree near entrance
-Western tree past the smashable rock
-Logs at northwestern area of swamp, near the Ogre Child
-Huge purple mushroom on the northeastern area of the Swamp

When you approach the rock blocking the path, if your pet is not the Raccoon,
it will tell you to bring him here with you. Approach the stone with your
Raccoon monster and it will break the rock. You will now be able to access the
rest of the Swamp area!

Now go talk to the Ogre Child in the upper area to activate a scene!

<Ogre Child Scene>
-----
You will hear his stomach growl several times, and he will say he's dying from
hunger. The Ogre Child asks who you guys are. You have the option to help him
so do so. The Ogre Child says you're a nice person for a human. He asks for
10 fish of any kind.
-----

This should be no problem since it can be any fish. Make sure you have at least
10 fish in your basket and then talk to the Ogre Child again. Select 10 fish
from your basket and then watch a scene.

<Ogre Child and Fish Scene>
-----
He will eat the fish and gradually get restored. He tells you he kind of got
lost and was wandering around. He thanks you and gives you 3 Panacea Bait and
1 Legendary Bait.
-----

Now head over to the Upper Waterfall and talk (or examine) the Plaster Wall to
start a scene.

<Plaster Wall Scene>
-----
Your pet will try to wake him up. Your pet will get all pissed off. Apparently
there is a cave beyond where Plaster Walls is blocking. Looks like you need
to figure a way to get past him.
-----

If you've read the instruction booklet for this game carefully, you should
know who you should go to next. =P Head back to the Swamp and talk to the
Ogre Child.

<Ogre Child and Plaster Wall Scene>
-----
He asks you if there's something bothering you and you tell him. He agrees to
help you cause he can't wait to see the look on Plaster Wall's face. He tells
you to hurry before the wall wakes up by himself...(sadistic boy...) Well you
guys head over to where the wall is. He asks you if you know what to do, if you
don't say no and he will explain. Now let's start...tickling. o.O Do well and
the wall will wake up...(about time!) The Ogre Child tells the wall that he
gets in the way when he sleeps there. He doesn't say anything, and he backs
up a few steps aaaaand...goes to sleep again. -.-" The Ogre Child says he's
going home but then he doesn't know how. You have to walk him back to the
swamp.
-----

You can now go to the Under Lake!

Anyways, head to the Upper Waterfall and talk to Ren to activate a scene.

<Ren at the Upper Waterfall Scene>
-----
Apparently, Ren was wondering where the waterfall came from. He tells you
he caught most of the fish here but no River King. He says he prabably hasn't
been to some fishing areas yet and that some may be up this waterfall. He hints
about some tool.
-----

If you have the Tengu monster pet with you, a scene will occur right before
you go under the waterfall. Make sure it can use the flight ability.

<Tengu and the Waterfall Scene>
-----
Tengu asks you if all you need is to get over the waterfall. He tells you if
he had a rope, he can help you do it. He says he can get over it on his own,
then lower a rope down for you.
-----

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----
-Under Lake
-----
Characters in this area:
-Jango (Will be gone after he gives you rope.)
-Masa (Daytime only)

Jango is located right below the entrance to this area.
Masa is located at the very far northwest corner of the area.

Searchable Spots:
-----
-Right of Jango, a bunch of weeds or something.
-Very southwestern corner, behind a large boulder.

Talk to Jango to activate a scene.

<Jango Scene>
-----
He asks you if you want to trade, and then says he won't trade if you're not
serious. You then ask him if he has a rope...and he does! However, he says
it's not for trade and to go look somewhere else. Your pet will ask if there
is nothing you can do, that all you need is the rope to get somewhere new.
Jango asks what's with your monster pet and how annoying it is. Jango decides
to change his mind and says he will give you the rope if you get him a
28in Great Brown. (Ugh!...x_X)
-----

Apparently the process of this game is: talk->help->item->solution. Well...
go catch a 28in Great Brown if you don't have one...then return to Jango and
I expect a scene to happen...like the usual...

I've been told you can catch Great Browns at the Upper Waterfall or at the
Stream.

I caught a Great Brown at the Upper Waterfall that measured 37 inches. Even
though it wasn't 28 inches, I tried to give it to Jango anyways. It looks like
as long as the fish is at least 28 inches, Jango will take it. Psh, I thought
he wanted one that was exactly 28 inches...but that would have killed me. x_x
But yeah, here's the scene.

<Jango and the Great Brown Scene>
-----
Give the Great Brown to him and he'll say, 'Yeah, it's a 28in Great Brown all
right.' even if it's bigger than 28in. He will then give you the rope. Then he
tells you a rope alone won't help you climb a mountain. Then he'll notice your
pet and wonder how your pet will use the rope. Then your pet will say that it
will show how useful it can be for you. Then your pet gets mad at Jango for no
reason. xD
-----

What are you waiting for? Let's go to the Upper Waterfall! Have you noticed
that grassy slope on the left of the waterfall? Start to go up it to activate
a scene if you have your Tengu / Crow pet with you.

<Pet and Rope Scene>
-----
Your pet will tell you to wait a bit. Then he will use his flying power and the
screen will black out for a second. When you can see again, there's the rope
and your pet tells you that you should be able to go up now. He's glad that he
can help you.
-----

You can now go to the Mountain Lake!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----
-Mountain Lake
-----
Characters in this area:
-Nue (Will only show up after you use Heirloom Rod. Night only.)
-Kaori (Daytime only after you find Nue.)

Nue is located at the northeast corner.
Nue is located on the northwest corner after you go through the shrine.
Kaori is located on the west side of the lake.

Searchable Spots:
-----
-Northwestern side of the lake.
-The dead end on the eastern side of the lake, after you go past the shrine.
-Southwestern spot behind the huge boulder.

Right when you go to this area for the first time, you will activate a scene.

<Ren and Ayaha Scene>
-----
Ren and Ayaha will come. Ren will tell you that they came too becaue the rope
was already there. (Cheap. >.<) Ayaha will then look around and comment on how
quiet it is. Then Ren realizes that there are no fish here. You will suddenly
hear a strange noise that freaks Ayaha out. Ren will say that everyone will be
fine and you will have an option of agreeing or saying there's a ghost. Choose
the first option and Ayaha will feel safe or whatever. Then you will hear the
'cry'two more times and Ayaha will get all terrified again. She will then tell
Ren to get out of here with her. Ren agrees because there aren't any fish here.
You will hear the noise two more times and Ayaha will say that she hates it
here and runs away. Ren says bye.
-----

Now if you explored a bit, you will notice a shrine that will not open. Go to
the Mountain Stream and talk to the Tree Spirit to activate a scene.

<Tree Spirit and the Noise Scene>
-----
He asks you if there's a new trouble and you tell him about the noise. Then
the Tree Spirit comments on how that must be Nue. He tells you that Nue is a
'cool and beautiful monster who loves being unique.' He says her voice is so
unique that sometimes it scares people away. Then he says even the fish are
probably hiding at the bottom of the lake. Your pet will ask the Tree Spirit if
there is something you can do. The Tree Spirit says that you will prabably want
to talk to Nue. Then he shakes and tells you that Nue hates the sound of a bow.
He will tell you about Nekomata's rod. If you wave it, it will make a weird
sound like a bow. He tells you that if you use it at a place where you can hear
Nue's voice loud and clear, she will be surprised and come out of hiding. He
tells you to say hi to Nekomata for him.
-----

Go to the Stream and talk to Nekomata to start another scene.

<Nekomata and the Heirloom Rod>
-----
She asks you what you want. You tell her. She asks you who told you about her
rod. You tell her. She wonders why the Tree Spirit knows. She then tells you
she does have a rod like that, and says you can't have it for free. (Meh.)
Then your pet tells her that she really is mean. She says since her rod is
special, she can't let anyone have it for free. You get mad. Then she tells you
to bring her a Foxtail and a white Seema.
-----

Anyways, if you go to the Under Cave, you will activate a scene.

<Ren and Ayaha Scene>
-----
You are walking and then encounter Ren and Ayaha. Ayaha asks you if you found
the River King yet. You say no and she tells you that Ren hasn't either. Ren
doesn't reply and Ayaha gets mad. Ren then notices you and tells you he was
too busy fishing. He then asks you if you want to just fish together without
competing. Choose 'sounds good!' and Ren will fish with you. Then he wants to
ask you something. Now choose the second option this time. He tells you it's
about Ayaha and that he's been fishing a lot lately so he doesn't have time
to look after her properly. He says that she used to cry and complain when he
didn't watch her but she doesn't really do that anymore. He says she's growing
up and it makes him lonely. He says you're the only guy he knows who also has
a younger sister and asks you if you know how he feels. Choose the first
option that comes up. Ren says that he's sure you will and that it's no big
deal. The screen blacks out and you're done fishing with him. Ren thanks you
for listening to him. Ayaha then wonders what you two were talking about. Ren
tells her it's 'man talk'(Haha.). Ren then gives you 3 Water Guidances for
listening to him. Ren and Ayaha leave.
-----

You prabably won't get the 3 Water Guidances if you didn't listen to Ren.

Also, if you go to the Pond, you will activate a scene with Manato.

<Manato at Pond Scene>
-----
Manato is mad at you and tells you that you're getting along well with Ayaha
lately. If you say 'yes' or the first option, Manato will get teary-eyed and
say that you're something else...and asks why she talks to you and ignores him.
Then, in his head, (Darn. Why him? I don't get it... and he thinks you have
your sights set on Ayaha too. He belives that you're his rival in love as well
as fishing now. Now he wants to find out what your true intentions are. Now you
need to answer a series of questions. I suppose you can choose your own answers
with these. I chose 'yes', 'long', (XD at Manato's response), 'cute', (haha,
'there's nothing cuter than Ayaha gathering flowers <3<3<3), ah...for the next
question I chose the second one, 'a friend'. Manato is relieved and asks you
if you know what kind of guy she likes. I don't know if this was the right
thing to do but for the next question I chose 'Someone like you'. XD Manato's
response will be funny. X3 Then he says there's no one better for me than
Ayaha. He apologizes for doubting you and gives you a Greenery Guidance to keep
this a secret. Manato feels great and leaves. Your pet will comment on how
happy Manato looked, but his love will remain unrequited (that's too bad? X3).
-----

I'm just going to assume if you answered the questions in an unfavorable way
to Manato, he wouldn't give you the Greenery Guidance.

Let's get on with getting the items for Nekomata's rod. Foxtails can be found
at the Mountain Lake. White Seema can be found in the lower current of the
Mountain Stream. When you have both, return to Nekomata and give her the stuff
to activate a scene.

<Nekomata and Foxtail + White Seema Scene>
-----
Give her the White Seema and she'll say she's been waiting for the foxtail and
white seema. Apparently she loves white seema. Then your pet mentions the rod
to Nekomata. She says a promise is a promise. You get the Heirloom rod.
-----

You can now use the Heirloom rod to fish with!

Lets go back to the Mountain Lake. If you've explored that area, you may have
noticed that the area that you can hear Nue's voice the loudest is the dead
end past the shrine. Approach that area to start a scene.

<Nue Scene>
-----
You will swing your rod several times, and Nue will come rushing out of the
bushes...(I thought Nue was a 'she'???). Nue tells you its killing her ears.
Your pet will say that you just wanted to talk and then wonders how is this
supposed to be a 'cool beauty' (lmao xD). You tell him what the problem is.
She (he?) says she can't help it. You get mad. She tells you it's her territory
and its none of your business. Then you pull out your handy heirloom rod and
threaten her. Nue gives in and says she will stop. Nue decides to wear earplugs
when you're around. Then you tell Nue about the River King. Nue then says she
thinks there was a fish like that. Nue says she'll help look up the River King
for you.
-----

Now the fish are back and you can fish at the Mountain Lake!

Go to the Stream to activate a scene.

<Nekomata and Ogre Child Scene>
-----
Nekomata tells the Ogre Child to stop bothering her. Ogre Child asks why and
what she doesn't like about him. She says she's not interested in little boys
like him. Nekomata leaves. Then the Ogre Child notices you. Your pet tells
Ogre Child to be a man (xDDD). Then he agrees with you that he's pathetic.
I chose the first option (which I did by accident cause I didn't expect it)
and the Ogre Child told me to get Catnip.
-----

Once you get Catnip, go to the Swamp and talk to the Ogre Child to start a
scene.

<Ogre Child and Catnip Scene>
-----
He asks if you brought the catnip. Say yes and he will leave to see Nekomata.
Nekomata tells him she's not interested. Ogre Child then tells her he brought
something special for her. Nekomata tells him it had better not be another
snake skin or stinky mushroom (rofl) or anything else that makes her angry.
Ogre Child shows her the catnip and Nekomata gets attracted to it or something.
Ogre Child was sucessful and he gives you a Greenery Drop. He says he's off
to make a date with Nekomata.
-----

Go to the Mountain Lake at night and head to the northeast corner past the
shrine to talk to Nue and start a scene.

<Nue at Night Scene>
-----
He tells you that he's been looking into the River King thing. He says he
finally found a lead. You and your pet becomes very excited. Nue tells you that
the River King is in the mountain peak lake. He tells you it's his territory
but he's never seen a fish like that. Then he mentions a hidden body of water
that few people know about. He says that's where the River King is. Then he
tells you to come with him. The screen blacks out and then you appear in front
of the shrine. Nue tells you it was supposedly built to seal in the River King.
He says there's a road past the door of the shrine and tells you to go. The
screen blacks out again and then you see an overview of the lake. Nue then says
that the River King is hiding at the bottom. You get frustrated and Nue tells
you that there are ways to draw it out. He then tells you to catch some fish
and bring it here. Nue says if they throw fish from other place in the lake,
the River King will get mad and show up because it's his territory. Then you're
supposed to catch it there. He says you need fish with a lot of spirit. He
then tells you to catch a white ricefish. He says he'll wait for you around
there.
-----

Well...there are quite a lot of boulders here. Best to get your raccoon first
and smash them all!

White Ricefish can be found at the Pond. When you have one, return to Nue.

~~~~~
Here is how to catch the River King, info is credited to Pat.
"I caught him in Mnt Lake. When you get to the Mnt Lake, there is a shrine in
the back and after you talk to
Nue and get her to stop screaming and catch the fish that she tells you to
catch (the first one is the Ricefish (White)) you go through the shrine and
there are no fish in the
lake.  A scene opens and she puts the fish in and the River King appears.  Of
course the first time I didn't catch him.  Then she tells you that River King
won't appear with
the same fish and the next one is the Duke Char which I caught in the UpWtrfll.
  Then you go back and she goes through the same scenario.  I didn't catch it
that time either
and then she asked for a Tera Catfish which I caught in the Swamp.  I caught
it with that one."
===================+CARD GUIDE=================================================
-General Stuff
-----
<What are cards?>
-----
Cards can be found in your Card Folder menu. Basically, they're just cards
that give you some info on the item. Each card has a picture, rarity, and
a short description of the fish, plant, or bug.
<How do you get them?>
-----
You can obtain cards from Sasara. She will trade you the actual item for
the cards.
<Rarity>
-----
Each card has a rarity of 1 to 5. The rarer it is, the less of that item you
need to trade for the card.
1 Star: 5 items
2 Star: 4 items
3 Star: 3 items
4 Star: 2 items
5 Star: 1 item
<What can you do with them?>
-----
Cards are something you can collect. You can also sell your cards to Jango for
50 SP each. You can only hold 1 of each card at a time, so if you have enough
fish, plants, or bugs for a card you already have, you can sell that card and
then just get another from Sasara. Hiro will ask for bug cards. Sachi will ask
for plant cards.
<Card Layout>
-----
<Name of fish/plant/bug>
Amount Required: Number of the actual thing you need to trade with Sasara
Rarity: How rare it is.
Max Size: For fish, the largest possible size fish that can be caught will also
          be listed.
Description: Information. (No offense, but their descriptions suck. >.<)
