==============================================================================
=== 4. Introduction ===== [4INTR] ============================================
==============================================================================

Firstly, if you see anything wrong or wish to give me any info, email me at
[email protected]

Things will be set out like this:

==============================================================================
=== 5a. Journey to ... The next place! =======================================
==============================================================================

'Stuff Happens'

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------- Route 201 ----------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'Insert encounter table'

'Insert items'

'What you do'

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's pretty much like that....
Now for the REAL thing.

==============================================================================
=== 5a. Journey to ... the next place! ===== [5AJOU] =========================
==============================================================================

Firstly, choose your name, your gender and you rivals name. I chose a girl
(sue me) because the boy looks stupid. I called my rival Barry.... I like the
name Barry....
You start in your house. Don't move just yet. Press 'X' (for the menu) and
scroll down to 'Options'
Can I suggest putting Text Speed on 'Fast' and modify everything else to
whatever you want. Now you can move.
The instant you move your rival comes running up the steps. He wants you to
go his house. As you can see, he is quite... energetic... and annoying.
Go to his house (it's the top-left one) and he will bump into you. He
doesn't even apologize...
Now go north of the town to meet up with him.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------- Route 201 ----------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your rival wants to run through the tall grass. Heh... Too bad he doesn't...
Then this guy in a white coat comes from behind you both. This is Professor
Rowan. Answer his question by saying yes. Then his partner (if you chose a
girl, it's Lucas, if you chose a boy, it's Dawn.) will put down the
briefcase. Walk up to it, press 'A' and choose your pokemon. It doen't matter
what you get, but I would suggest Chimchar, due to fire pokemon being (quite)
scarce. Good ones anyway.
Rowan and Lucas leave so your rival asks for a battle. Say yes, and let your
first ever battle begin.

----------------------
Boss Battle - Rival #1
----------------------

If you chose Chimchar:

If you chose Turtwig:

|________________|____________|

If you chose Piplup:
 _____________________________
| Turtwig | Lvl 5 |
|________________|____________|

Strategy
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just attack with you main attack move (Pound, Scratch, Tackle). Simple.
Watch out for Turtwig Withdrawing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go back to you house, talk to your mom, get the running shoes (you can now run
by holding B). Go north again to see your rival (again). This time he wants to
go to Lake Verity. So go.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------- Lake Verity ---------------------------------

Items: None

When you enter you see this blue haired guy, muttering to himself. Once he's
gone, you hear a cry. Now your rival goes away (about time aswell).
Fight some pokemon, get you starter to level 7, heal at your moms and make
your way to Sandgem Town.

Now we can do this properly.

there is somebody who will give you a free Potion. Useful.

Here's the pokemart listings:
-------------------
Poke Ball - $200
Potion - $300
Antidote - $100
Paralyz Heal - $200
-------------------

As soon as you get into town you are spoken to by Lucas. You will (try) go
into the lab but your rival bumps into you. try again and you can get in.
Rowan will speak to you and now you can Nickname your starter. Then you get
asked a question, to which you should answer yes to get the pokedex. You will
then leave but the instant you come out Rowan shouts after you to get a TM.
This TM teaches Return, a powerful move if a pokemon likes you. Then you get a
tour. Boring.

Talk to your mom. Your Rival's mom gives you a package for him. Head back to

Items: Pokeball x5, Potion

Just before you enter the grass, Lucas will teach you how to catch pokemon
and give you 5 Pokeballs. Sweet. Here you can catch a Starly and a Bidoof, and
maybe a Shinx. Bidoof will be your HM slave later. (Did you know that 'Bidoof'
backwards is 'Food I B'?) Starly is a useful and powerful Pokemon to have
around, but Shinx isn't that great until it gets to higher levels. There are
some trainers on this route for you to battle too. You might aswell catch
Kricketot too if you can, for the pokedex. Get your Pokemon to level 6+, so
you can beat the trainers.
From the beginning of the route, go left, then up, then right for the first
trainer.

Youngster Tristan

Easy again. You may need to heal now so jump down the ledge, heal, and get
back to this point. Go up through the grass and left for the third.

An easy battle. Again. You'd think they made it a little more challenging.
Proceed left and walk into the patch of grass to see the Potion. Now go North
into Jubilife City.

==============================================================================
=== 5b. Wierd Cops in a Big Town ===== [5BWIE] ===============================
==============================================================================

Now you are in Jubilife. You'll soon understand th title too!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------- Jubilife City --------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PokeMart Listings:
-------------------
Poke Ball - $200
Potion - $300
Antidote - $100
Paralyz Heal - $200
-------------------
Air Mail - $50
Heal Ball - $300
-------------------

Once you step into town, Lucas greets you. Then he notices a wierd guy
hiding behind a lamp post. Que Wierd Cop! He says you unmasked him as a member
of the International Police. Say wuh? He has a codename 'Looker'. He gives you
a Vs. Recorder. It lets you record matches. What a freak. He then shows you
the Trainer School. Your Rival is in there. Heal and go in.

The Trainers' School
--------------------
Items: X Attack, Town Map, Potion.

Pick up the X Attack in the top left corner and then talk to your Rival. You
get a Town Map, and he says he is going to Oreburgh. Talk to the 2 people in
the room to the right. They both battle.

School Kid Harrison - $120
--------------------------
 _____________________________
| Starly | Lvl 6 |

Unlike in D/P, these 2 don't have powerful Abras. He shouldn't be a problem.
But his Starly can hit hard. Talk to the other one. Battle.

School Kid Christine - $120
---------------------------
 _____________________________
| Bidoof | Lvl 6 |
|________________|____________|

Once again, easy. Although it does get healed once, it is still easy. Talk
to the boy to get a Potion. No more Hidden Power... Oh well... Leave.

Jubilife City
-------------
Items: Quick Claw, Old Rod.

Heal. Then go north. You will be stopped by the creator of the Poketch. Find
3 clowns and win a free Poketch. Gogogo! The answer to all of them is yes.
  1. In-between the PokeCenter and PokeMart.
  2. Far Top-left of town.
  3. Right of #2, infront of Jubilife TV.
Talk to the guy again to get your Poketch. It comes with:
  A Clock
  A Status Screen
  A Pedometer
  A Calculator
OK.

Now to collect the items. In the Large block of flats in the top-right
corner of town, talk to the Girl on the first floor for a Quick Claw. This
item, when equipped, may cause your Pokemon to attack first.
Now go West of Town. In the building connecting Jubilife to Route 218, there
is a fisherman who will give you an Old Rod. Now, Route's Encounter Tables
will have fishing.

Items: X Accuracy

Go across the piers to get to an X Accuracy. You can fish for a Magikarp if
you want, but they are rubbish until they evolve at level 20, so don't bother
training one yet. Don't bother training against them either. Go back to
Jubilife.

If you aren't going to use X Items, sell them. Then buy some supplies. Now,
go North.

OK, I am a bit overleveled. His Starly should be easy to dispatch. Just
remember - Don't use your starter on his! He will probably beat it. But he
doesn't really cause problems. Just smash him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Catch an Abra, although it is a bit tricky. Train it if you want, although
it will take alot of switch grinding (starting the battle with the Abra and
then changing to something else.) Go right, past the first patch of grass, and
then go north to battle a trainer (You can avoid this trainer by going through
the grass, but who would want to do that?)

says the Gym Leader has gone to the Coal Mine, so we'll head there in a
minute. First, items and a new route.

Items: Dusk Ball.

First, go to the Top Left Building. Upstairs, there is a girl who gives you
a Dusk Ball. In the next building, there is a person who will trade a Machop
for an Abra. You'll be able to get a Machop in a minute. The Abra (I think) is
the same level as the Machop you give her. Upstairs in this building, there is
somebody upstairs, asking to see a Pokemon. If you haven't caught it, you can
get one in somewhere. The big building left of here is a museum, and a person
in the counter will revive fossils. That is all so go north to Route 207.

OK fire pokemon, but better will be available later. Go to the Top Left corner
of the grass. Here is a Poke Ball. In the Top Right corner, there is a patch
of grass missing. Press A while looking at it for a second Poke Ball. Now go
back into Oreburgh.

Oreburgh City
-------------

Items: Oran Berry, Heal Ball, Yellow Shard, Dire Hit, Heart Scale.

Heal and save. Show that guy in the building your Pokemon if you have what
he wants. (If anybody has info on this guy - does he just ask to see a Geodude
please inform me, I'm clueless.) Get Abra aswell. It carries an Oran berry.
Now we can go to the Mine!
Go south of Town. If you go behind the fence to the left, you can find a
Yellow Shard, Dire Hit, and in the slag of coal, a Heart Scale. Move into the

the short way, fighting them. These Trainers are in the short way:

Youngster Jonathon

Quite a tough Geodude, but if you attack with Water or grass you should be

to win, with alot of Double Teams. Move on.

Heal, buy items and save in town before talking to the Gym Leader.

| Cranidos | Lvl 14 |
|________________|____________|

Strategy:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quite a simple battle. Geodude will drop from one or two Super Effective
hits. Onix is resilient. Cranidos is a little harder. It's Headbutt WILL
punish Level 12 and below, so watch out. The toughest battle so far, but still
not incredibly difficult. (I tried beating Cranidos with Staravia. It worked.
Cranidos is really strong, but can hardly hit after a few DTs.) You recieve
TM 76, Stealth Rock. This moves damages Pokemon when they are sent into
battle. Useful.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can now use Rock Smash outside of battle! First, go downstairs in the
PokeCenter to recieve a Pal Pad, used for FCs over Wi-fi. Now to move on.

Yep, it's time to leave Oreburgh, but there is a problem, easy to solve.
Where do you go? You have a new Gym Badge now, so there are things to do.
Firstly, teach a pokemon Rock Smash (I suggest Bidoof). Now try get to
Oreburgh Gate, where your Rival stops you. And runs into you. Like the
energetic little annoyance he is. Now go ino Oreburgh Gate.

Oreburgh Gate
-------------
Go up the small passage. Now you can smash these rocks, so smash one of them
and continue. Go down the steps.

for a small chunk of exp though.
Go down the steps, then break the rock to your right. Break the next one,
then move your way round to the item. TM70, Flash. Make your way left, taking
either route. Then move up, and collect the Big Pearl. Now just get out of

no 'shady people' here. Look in a mirror, Mr. Looker.
Go left and up to find Prof. Rowan and Lucas being confronted some wierdos
dressed in peculiar clothes. They ask for his research. he lists some lessons

anyway. After the battle, a random guy gives you a Fashion Case. You can dress
up your pokemon with it....
Go to the top-left building and talk to the guy in front of the reception
desk. He gives you a Memo Pad for your Poketch. You can write stuff on it.
The building next to that, the TV station, has a dressing room on the second
floor along with somebody who gives you a Mask dependant on your starter. On
the 3rd floor there is a guy standing next to a girl. Talk to him. He asks for
your opinion on TV. Put 'EVERYONE HAPPY'. Then, he asks for feedback. This
time, put in 'WI-FI CONNECTION'. You can now use Mystery Gift. Go north now.

Zubat dies easily. Purugly is the problem here. Even though it looks like a

form of Glameow, and poses quite a problem. Monferno/Machop could probably
2HKO this beast. It wiped out my Staravia and Buizel.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the quite tough battle, they leave, and you see the happy reunion of
father and daughter. Aww, how sweet.... (I felt like puking....) Then she
tells him to go shower, 'cos he stinks. She then says the Balloon Pokemon will
start coming again. This is Drifloon, and appears on Friday, in front of the
Windworks.
When you walk out, Looker goes inside and comes out, congratulating you on
beating them. Oh well, get back to town, heal, save, and get ready for the
road ahead.

If the answer to the above question is yes, then you're in for quite a
hellish chapter. I'll start from Floarama.

When you walk back into town, you get approached by a woman in black clothes
who is called Cynthia. She gives you HM01 Cut.
In the building next to the PokeMart, there is a girl on the first floor who
will give you a Chatot for a Buizel. Don't train Chatot if you get it. It's
useless. On the second floor there is an old lady who gives you TM67 Recycle.
In the building next to the PokeCenter, talk to the Old Man to get an Explorer
Kit. Use this to go underground. I'll add a section.
In the PokeCenter, talk to the lady for the Frienship Checker Appliance for
the Poketch, a very useful tool for evolving pokemon which require happiness.
Find the Super Potion behind the gym, Heal, Stock, and go to the gym!

|________________|____________|

Strategy:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Turtwig has Sunny Day, which is kinda digging it's own grave if you are
going to use Monferno or Ponyta. Staravia will also do well against this Gym
Leader. Turtwig made quick work of my Buizel. Starvia made quick work of
Turtwig. Turtwig is easy.
If Sunny Day is still up, Cherrim will be in Blossom Form, but it doesn't
mean anything. If not, it is in it's Bud form. Nothing really to trouble you,
but it does know Magical leaf, which is quite strong.
Now her main pokemon, Roserade - evolution of Roselia. This has an amazingly
high Sp. Atk. so most of it's moves will give out heavy damage. It also knows
Stun Spore. Annoying. It took down my partially damaged Staravia, by
Parahaxing me. Monferno eliminated it.
You gain the Forest Badge, so you can use HM01 Cut outside of battle and you
can control traded pokemon up to level 30, so that traded Abra is now useable
for a while. You also recieve TM86 Grass Knot.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leave, heal and save. Teach Cut to something. Now to boot Team Galactic out

Items: TM46 Thief.

Can you see the big building at the top with the rotating roof? That is the

building.

Eterna Galactic Building

Items: X Speed, X Special, Blue Shard, Revive, Up-Grade.

The instant you walk in, Looker, disguised as a Galactic grunt, talks to

I'm sure you can take it if I mislead you.... which I won't.

NOTE: In the top-left corner of the first floor is the entrance to the Secret
Room with the Secret Key to change Rotoms forms.

Go up the steps on the left. First, you have a battle. If you just walk past
both Grunts, you have a single Double Battle. If you talk to from below you
get 2 Single Battles. I'll present it as a Double battle.

Items: Bicycle

Heal and save. Try go to the Bike shop. Cynthia will stop you. She wants to
give you an egg. Put a Pokemon in the PC and collect it. It is a Togepi egg,

the woman for the Big Tree Accessory. Now go up the steps. Left for a
SilverPowder. Right for TM82 Sleep Talk. Now return to the entrance to the
forest and go in.
Go further to see Gardenia. Talk to her. she says the building ahead is

Pearl. Now go back into the entrance.
Go up the left steps, an into the left room. Here is an Old Gateau, it heals

Go to the furthest left room. Here is a Dread Plate. Go into the next room.
This is the room where you find Rotom. After 8pm, if you press A on the TV

Items: Great Ball, TM12 Taunt.

Nothing special here, really. Meditite and Bronzor might be worth training
though - A powerful Psychic/Fighting and an amazingly annoying and unbeatable
tank. Yep.
Press a looking at the Northern-most blank square with no grass on it for a
Great Ball. Can you see the bump in the ground? Go next to this for a battle.

Go down and enter the building. That is the end of Cycling Road! Talk to the
woman for a Flag accessory. I suggest going back up for a heal, before moving
below Cycling Road.
Come out of the building, pick up the Razz Berries. Now go right and cut the
tree. Work around the grass if you don't want encounters. Hidden behind a tree
is a small tree you can Cut. Here you can get a PP Up. Keep going and then
accross the bridge. The tunnels are above you. Here is a Burn Heal in the
middle. Go up the left side for a Hiker. He tells you there is meant to be 2
caves but he can only find one. Here is where I tried to catch Gligar. It's
hard. Go right, and pick up the Super Repel. A Hiker is up, he will battle.

You are now in Wayward Cave.

Items: Dusk Stone, Max Ether, Grip Claw, Rare Candy, TM26 Earthquake.

Secret Entrance - Special Pokemon. Gible is incredible - evolves into one of
the most powerful non-legendary Pokemon in the game. Worth the time and effort
it takes to catch it.
Continue from the entrance down the steps. The top-left rock of the little
formation has a Dusk Stone. Go up the Mud slope. You need to be on the fast
and hard to steer gear of your bike to get up here. Go up the next slope
aswell. You may want to use a Repel if you have one. Now go over all the ramps
to get to a Max Ether. Now get back to the final ramp. Change onto the slower
gear and jump. Then go around. Jump over this hump. Move across the tightrope
(that is what I will call them). Jump over the next ramp. Pick up the Grip
Claw. Go back, then up the Mud slope. Now go acros and over the first ramp.
Pick up the Rare Candy. Go over the next ramp. Move around and speed the next
ramp. Now go down. Pick up the TM26 Earthquake. Now Escape Rope. You should be
back on Route 206.

Useful if you lack Kadabra. Go across the bridge for a battle.

Go across the northern bridge for a battle.

across the other bridge. Battle.

Annoying. With loads of Defence, Fighting types can't 1HKO it. Oh well, most
of the time it just uses Harden.
Go up and smash the rock. pick up the Ether. Now descend into the grass. Go
straight down. The space in the grass holds an invisible TinyMushroom. There
is also a Honey Tree here. Talk to the Karate guy for an Odd Keystone. Battle
the woman at the top - an Aroma Lady.

Staravia/Monferno/Ponyta.
Go get the berries. Talk to the little girl and answer 'Yes' to her question
to get a Berry Searcher Appliance. Talk to the old guy for a Random Berry
every day. Talk to the woman for Mulch, AKA fertilizer for berries. Speak to
the guy with a beret outside for a battle.

After you walk forward a bit a Buneary bumps into you. Keira is the owner,
and she tells you to drop by the Contest Hall, which we will. It is in the
north part of town.

Contest Hall
------------
Items: Glitter Powder Accessory, Tuxedo/Dress.

Yup, Keira is in here with... Mom? Keira gives you Glitter Powder. You then
talk to your mom, who gives you a Tuxedo or a Dress. Now go to the right and
talk to the woman with huge curls. This is Fantina, the gym leader. You can go
fight her, but first we have to go to Amity square.

Hearthome City
--------------
Just go left and into the gate.

Amity Square
------------
Items: TM45 Attract, TM43 Secret Power, Amulet Coin, Spooky Plate.

You can go for a walk with your starter, so do so. Check the section for a
list of obtainable items. Go straight up and into the ruins. You should be
teleported to TM45 Attract. Go into the middle of the water using the piers to
reach TM43 Secret Power. Now go into the right side entrance. Go far up to
find an Amulet Coin. Trial and error the ruins teleporters to find the Spooky
Plate. You can now leave.

Hearthome City
--------------
Items: Shell Bell,

Deposit a Pokemon in the computer. Go into the building next to the
PokeCenter and talk to the girl to recieve a level 20 Eevee. It may be a good
Pokemon to train.
On the first row, on the right, a block of apartements stands. On the second
floor a girl will give you a Shell Bell.
  Now, onto the gym!

Heartthome Gym
--------------
When you walk in, the guy will hamd you a flashlight and explain the gym.
You have to find the blue tiles with symbols and remeber that symbol and use
it on the correct door in the gym. They are random so I can't help you with
that. Battle the youngster on the right.

|________________|____________|

Strategy:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, I am slightly overleveled, but level 25s should do the trick. I've also
added Rotom, Gyarados and Crobat. Enough about me though.
Duskull is a joke. Really easy to take down. The only problem you may have
is with your Psychic Types.
Haunter poses little problem. Psychics will struggle though, because of
Shadow Claw.
Mismagius is quite tough. It knows Shadow Ball, and coupled with STAB and
high Sp.Atk, it is quite destructive. It also knows Magical Leaf, which will
take down Water types. It knows Confuse Ray just to annoy you further. A
tough adversary, but beatable. Just to make it worse, Fantina will use a Super
Potion when on Yellow health. She gives you TM65 Shadow Claw and a Relic Badge
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Leave by going right. Heal and save.

=== 6. Honey - The Trees, the Uses, and The Pokemon ===== [6HONE] ============
==============================================================================

Honey is used to get some quite lucrative pokemon. Here are the positions
of the trees:

~ Routes 205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, 214, 215, 218, 221, 222
~ Eterna Forest
~ Floarama Meadow
~ Fuego Ironworks
~ Valley Windworks

These are the pokemon:

| Munchlax | 1% | 5-15 | Honey Tree |

Munchlax is ultra-rare, this is why so many people ask for them through
trades. That is, pretty much, Honey Trees. If they shake, they have a pokemon.

=== 7. The Underground and What to do There ===== [7THEU] ====================
==============================================================================

Firstly, to get Underground, you need an Explorer Kit. Get this in Eterna
City, from the Underground Man in the house next to the PokeCenter. Once you
use it (It can be used anywhere except in buildings.) you go underground in a
position similar to where you used it (e.g. Snowpoint City, at the very north
of Sinnoh, will put you in the north of the Underground). You get lots of
useful items underground.

Items to Take: These are items you use outside the Underground.

After the National Dex, you have more of a chance to find objects, and you can
now find:

~Root Fossil
~Helix Fossil
~Dome Fossil
~Hook Fossil
~Claw Fossil
~Old Amber

The main use of the Underground is Secret Bases and Capture the Flag. To build
a Secret Base, you need a Digger Drill. To get a Digger Drill, you need to buy
one off the many Underground Hikers. To buy stuff off the Hikers, you need to
dig up some Spheres, then plant them in the groud so they grow big.
You furnish your base with items you buy at the Veilstone Department Store.

Thanks go to shaminguy7 + MaruKazeryu for the assistance.

exception is that if you would get an Accessory that you already have too many
