So, youíve looked everywhere for a guide on EV training, and yet, you canít seem to find a guide that goes through all the hoops to bring you the information you canít seem to find, right? Well, thatís the case I made this guide in, so, here goes.
Helpful items, [ITEM]
Now, you may be wondering ďwhy would I need items?Ē Well, you donít, but youíd be having a heck of a hard time without them, not to mention that it takes way longer without them, too. So these items are pretty much your standard EV Trainers Items, Here they are:
These items will speed up the process in which you get EVs by Battling NPC Trainers/Wild Pokemon:
Macho Brace, not the most recommended, but will do when you donít have certain Power items,
Power Lens, Power Band, Power Anklet, Power Belt, Power Bracer and Power Weight all raise one stats EV point gain when earning them by battling, the Evís the Power Items give you are as follows:
/ Item: I Stat: \
I Power Bracer I Attack I
I Power Belt I Defense I
I Power Lens I Sp. Atk I
I Power Band I Sp. Def I
IPower Anklet I Speed I
I Power Weight I HP I
(I know itís not the best box, but hey, itís my first box!)
K, so heres the run down, lets say you battle a Bidoof, and you defeat it, now if you didnít have a held item, Youd get 1 EV Point for HP, now if you had an Macho Brace, youíd get 2 Evís, and if you had the Power Weight attached, youíd get 6 whopping EV Points, but it gets better with Pokerus, in which you Add first THEN double, which would net you a whopping 12 EV Points!
Items for deleting EVís:
These berries will take EVís from a stat that you accidentally put them on, They are:
I Pomeg I HP I
I Kelpsy I Attack I
I Qualot I Defense I
I Hondew I SP. Atk. I
I Grepa I Sp. Def. I
I Tamato I Speed I
Now, lets say you have 255 Points in HP you didnít need there, you would need 16 berries, the first berry would bring it down to 100, then the ones AFTER that would lower it by 10 until you have 0 in that stat, the problem is getting enough berries to remove enough evís. as theyre semi-rare. Course, you COULD use the AR code for all berries x999, you cheater.
Now, the other items:
Vitamins, when you have enough money to buy these expensive products, they will help you, as they give you a whopping 10 EVs in the stat they raise.
Rare candies, these are by far, the quickest way to raise a Pokemons level to 100, BUT Be warned that if you hit lv. 100 before your Finished EV Training a Pokemon, you have lost your chance to finish! PERIOD. END OF STORY!
EV Training Processes, [TRAIN]
Now youíve got at least some of the items, Right? Well, now onto the prcesses!!
Now Iím gonna use Sp. ATK. As an example in all of these processes, but if your looking for EVing another stat, just switch the Power item to one that ups that statís gain, switch the pokemon you battle to the one that gives you EVs for the stat your raising, and if your using Vitamins, switch to the vitamins that give you EVs for that stat, and then you set to go!
Now, for the next few processes I suggest you to equip the Power item that give you EVs for the stat that you want, so for the examples, weíll use the Power Weight, and Iím gonna assume the pokemon DOESNíT have Pokerus,
Now the 1st process:
Step 1: Use 10 HP UPs.
Step 2: Battle the Cowgirl on Route 209 (Beloow Solaceon Town) Closest to the Mud Ramp 6 Times,
Step 3: Take off the Power Weight,
Step 4: Battle 2 more Bidoof,
There you have it! A Grand total of 252 EVs, but beware! If you get pokerus at ANY TIME after the HP UPs, The process has to be modified, and itíll look something like this (excluding the HP UP Step):
Step 2: Battle the Cowgirl 3 time,
Step 3: Remove the Power Weight,
Step 4: Battle 1 more Bidoof,
And for the above process, you have to have had The pokemon have Pokerus the whole time, or it will be harder, but still doable, and if you wanted to max out EVs in a certain stat, just skip step 3, and leave the Power item on.
This process is for those of you who are Hackers and donít want to spend the time to EV them properly:
Step 1: Boot up the AR,
Step 2: Enter the EV Modifier Code(s), the ones like ďHP UP rases HP to maxĒ BUT USE THEM WITH THE CODE LISTED RIGHT BEFORE THE OTHER EV CODES!!!
Step 3: Load your game,
Step 4: Give you Pokemon 1 AND ONLY 1 of the vitamin that corresponds with the code,
There, you now have 255 EVs in one stat! good job, you cheater!
Best EV giving Pokemon, [LIST]
Now, you may be wondering which pokemon give the most EVs in a certain stat, and where they are, well, Iím gonna tell you here, and this is also where Iíll tell you the best trainers to battle, too! Thnx to Alexcalibur for the guide to use as reference!
Best EV giving Pokemon: [LST1]
*the numbers in the ()ís are how many EVs the pokes are worth.
Pokemon: Bidoof (1)
Yep, pretty basic, and itís pretty low level, too,
Pokemon: Gastrodon (2)
It gets the job done, but the pokes are a little higher level, so that could be a good or bad thing.
Pokemon: Shinx (1)
The basic method of EVing this stat, but not the quickest.
Pokemon: Seaking (2), Gyarados (2)
Much better than the Shinx method, but you need an Super Rod which you get after beating the game in the Battle Zone.
Pokemon: Geodude (1), Onix (1)
The best basic EV pokemon,
Iron Island Cave
Pokemon: Graveler (2), Onix (1) Steelix (2)
Pretty good, the best plac I could find.
Old Chateau in Eterna Forest
Pokemon: Gastly (1), Haunter (2), Gengar (3)
Possibly the best option if you have a GBA Pokemon game in you GBA slot, if you donít only Gastly will appear, and Iím pretty sure Gengar only appears in the room with eyes,
Resort Areas Pond
Pokemon: Golduck (2)
Pretty much the best option if you donít hav a GBA game,
Pokemon: Tentacruel (2), Mantyke (1)
The earliest and best option I could find, it work pretty well.
Victory Road Ponds
Pokemon: Golbat (2)
I think these are the only pokemon tha appear when surfing on the ponds here, pretty good for EV training if you pokemon is in the high-30s to high-40s and above.
Trophy Garden of the Pokemon Mansion
Pokemon: Pikachu (2), Pichu (1), Staravia (2)
Pretty much the best option here, but be sure to run from other pokemo.
Best EV giving Trainers: [LST2]
*The VS seeker is needed for rebottling these trainers.
Route 209, Standing at the Solaceon Town side of the sand slope.

Note: This trainer doesn't evolve for some people. He stays with Staravia, changing
his EVs to speed. For this reason, he is in both sections. Use the one yours

Total Evs: 6
Cycling Road, third male from the top
Who: Cyclist John
What they have: 2 Staravia around level 40
Total Evs: 4
I am leaving this here, but I don't really know if I should. I have confirmed that the Staravia trainer does evolve, which changes the EVs to strength. He will be in that section as well, with his max levels.
AR Codes. [CODES]
So, you fill in the XXs with one of these 2 digit codes(you can put different endings to each code, but make sure you pick one from the list):
00 = 0
01 = 1
02 = 2
03 = 3
04 = 4
05 = 5
06 = 6
07 = 7
08 = 8
09 = 9
0A = 10
0B = 11
0C = 12
0D = 13
0E = 14
0F = 15
10 = 16
11 = 17
12 = 18
13 = 19
14 = 20
15 = 21
16 = 22
17 = 23
18 = 24
19 = 25
1A = 26
1B = 27
1C = 28
1D = 29
1E = 30
1F = 31
Now this code is to edit Wild, hatched, and other pokemon given to you, so it doesnít edit the IVs on a pokemon you already caught, just new ones.
Every Berry x999
This code gives you ALL BERRIES x999! So youíll have a hard time running out of berries for a while! And as far as I can tell, you can use it as man times as you like, but will only ever get 999 of each barry AT MAX!!! L+R to activate.
set pokemon natures
Set Wild Pokťmons Nature to... 12066D98 000024XX
XX Values :
00 : Hardy
01 : Lonely
02 : Brave
03 : Adamant
04 : Naughty
05 : Bold
06 : Docile
07 : Relaxed
08 : Impish
09 : Lax
0A : Timid
0B : Hasty
0C : Serious
0D : Jolly
0E : Naive
0F : Modest
10 : Mild
11 : Quiet
12 : Bashful
13 : Rash
14 : Calm
15 : Gentle
16 : Sassy
17 : Careful
18 : Quirky
Now this code is helpful for getting pokemon of a certain nature, and you donít have to press any button combination to activate it!!!
X999 Any berry
In this XX put the code below to get the berry you want.
Now this code is different than the other berry code as you will only get one type of berry at a time, but it will be x999, Iím pretty sure you have to press L+R to activate it.
EV Modifier code
First, you must use this. It lets go passed 512 base stat limit.
Use this code with any of the below 6 codes, BUT USE ONLY 1 AT A TIME OR YOUR GAME WILL FREEZE WHEN YOU USE THE VITAMIN!!!
Then use these at the same time as the code above:
HP Up raises HP to max
Protein raises attack to max
Same thing with defense (Iron)
And Sp. Def (Zinc)
Calcium Raises Sp Attack to max
And Carbos raises speed to max
THIS IS FOR THE EV MODIFIER CODE. REPLACE THE FF AT THE END OF EACH CODE EXCEPT BREAK 512 CODE WITH THE HEX ON THE LEFT.
NORMAL VALUE ON LEFT. HEX VALUE ON RIGHT.
The above codes are to modify EVs, and should be entered with the aforementioned code, and if you have the code set to 255, or FF at the end, use it only ONCE, and only on 2 stats! OR OTHER PEOPLE WILL KNOW AUTOMATICALLY THAT THIS POKE IS HACKED!!!
Thanks goes to:
