Welcome to another FAQ of mine. This FAQ covers what is actually my first DS
game in about seven months. Pokmon Conquest is an experiment made by Nintendo;
at least, from the gamers' viewpoint. Never before has Nintendo actually made
a real crossover game between two RPG series.

Square Enix tried a similar thing almost a decade ago. They created the widely
acclaimed Kingdom Hearts series, a mix between Final Fantasy and Disney. Bad
conceptually, but great in practice.

Nintendo now got on the bandwagon by making an RPG crossover as well. (They
have done crossovers, mind you, just not for RPGs.) So, what series did they
choose? The Pokmon series, known for its expansiveness when it comes to
completionism, was one, obviously. Nobunaga's Ambition's own series is
relatively mysterious to the younger generation of players, as it hasn't had a
new entry in many, many years. And it is still rather unknown (or unable to be
FAQ'ed) -- it had a "Retro FAQ Bounty" some time back.

So, anyhow, crappy introduction aside, I have an FAQ for you to read and
receive help. Enjoy.

v0.00 - Haven't gotten the game *yet*; just finished up my final checks on the
        formatting I placed a few weeks back. 1:05 AM 6/20/2012

v0.50 - We've conquered nine of the seventeen kingdoms in the walkthrough,
        which I think makes it half-done.  1:52 AM 6/21/2012

v0.75 - Renamed each sub-section of the walkthrough to make it a bit easier to
        comprehend. Also finished through the thirteenth kingdom, which makes
        the walkthrough about 75% done. 1:26 AM 6/22/2012

v1.00 - Completely finished the pre-credits walkthrough and prepared the format
        for the post-credits walkthrough's initial eight side-stories.
        2:30 AM 6/23/2012

v1.30 - Got down the details on ten of the thirty-three side-stories. Now I
        just have to work on beating them to get more. 12:23 AM 6/24/2012

Welcome to the bulk of this FAQ/Walkthrough. Within this section, you'll find
a wealth of information, guiding you from start to finish for this game. All of
the info is arranged in chronological order. This walkthrough has been divided
into some smaller sub-sections so you can find what you want more easily.
What these sub-sections are can be found by looking in the Table of Contents,
found near the top of the document.

And, before reading, read that big note above the Donations notice!

 #############################################################################
 ##                                                                         ##
 # Our First & Second Kingdoms: Aurora & Ignis **CONQUEST_41**#
 ##                                                                         ##
 #############################################################################

After you start up the game, opt to play a "New Game". You will be asked as to
whether you'll play as a boy or a girl, then be asked to give your
(character's) name. Afterwards, after some of the most stunning graphics and
music ever on the DS, we'll begin in the kingdom of Aurora.

As you begin a conversation, everyone notices that you're the new Warlord of
their kingdom. They take note of your Eevee, a rather rare Pokmon (and common
in these side-games. Suddenly, some Warriors from Ignis, the nearby kingdom,
come to challenge to a battle in an attempt to take over your kingdom.

O----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Hideyoshi's Army  |  Turns: 20                              |
O----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:         |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Tepig (Fire)           |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |
|  -- Bidoof (Normal)        |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
O----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O

And thusly, you quickly begin your first-ever battle under a unique battling
system - at least, for Pokmon. It plays a bit like Final Fantasy Tactics
Advance, so you can go off that. Basically, you are allotted a set number of
turns -- 20 in this case -- and your Pokmon will fight the opposing army's.
These battles may have certain win/lose conditions. Here, it's simply beat all
enemies to win, and lose your Eevee to lose (because Eevee is your only
Pokmon right now).

As Hideyoshi begins their turn, an un-named character brings in her Jigglypuff
to help you out. This character will also give you the basics on moving your
Pokmon -- begin by selecting your Pokmon with the A Button twice, then using
the D-Pad to select the multi-color tile you want. However, you have to select
a certain tile for the purposes of the tutorial. Regardless, press the A Button
to opt to move the desired tile. At that point, you can "Fight" and battle, or
"Wait". Fighting only works when an enemy is nearby, so just wait for now.

On your next turn, Jigglypuff will automatically eliminate Bidoof with
Doubleslap. You need to move your Eevee next to the remaining Tepig and defeat
it. After moving next to it, opt to Fight, then opt for the facing facing
Tepig. Eevee will use Quick Attack and should very likely defeat Tepig, ending
the battle in your favor.

~~~
After the battle, your Link percentages will go up and you'll return to the
kingdom of Aurora. The other character will introduce himself/herself. They've
been on a journey with Jigglypuff for a while and wants to join your army. Of
course you should accept!
Eventually, you'll reach the overworld map of the Ransei region. I suggest
going under "Menu" to save your game, and perhaps investigating the other
various menus. Re-enter Aurora, now.
Back in town, you'll meet up briefly with another un-named character before
being made aware of the Farm, where some wild Pokmon can be found to meet
the current objective. After the scene ends, select the thing that is glowing
on the map and opt to send both characters.
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild Pokmon       |  Turns: 10                              |
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:          |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Starly (Normal/Flying)  |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |
|  -- Bidoof (Normal)         |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Starly is weak to Rock, Ice, and Electric moves. It is immune to Ground and
Ghost. It's move, Quick Attack, has a one tile range and will do
super-effective damage to no one, half-damage to Rock and Steel, and nothing
to Ghost.
Bidoof is weak to Fighting, and immune to Ghost. Its move, Headbutt, has a
one-tile range and will super-effective damage to no one, half-damage to Rock
and Steel, and nothing to Ghost.
When this fight begins, you can safely just move as close to the enemy as
possible: Eevee to Starly and Jigglypuff to Bidoof. After the enemies' turn
in which they will likely attack, you, too, should Fight.
However, before you can, your partner will mention Pokmon's abilities: Eevee
has Celebrate, which allows a move after beating an enemy, and Jigglypuff can
use Lullaby, which can put nearby enemies to Sleep.
Since your enemies will probably run away after surviving your first attack,
chase them down and continue to defeat them.
~~~

After the battle, your partner will teach about Links. Links are like emotional
mutual bonds between a Warrior and his Pokmon; as they spend time together,
the Pokmon and the Warrior will begin to trust each other more and more. This,
in turn, allows the Pokmon to release more and more of its power, for the
Warrior commanding it is thought to know really what to do.

You'll also learn that you can only battle with your Pokmon or take them to
visit a location once a month. Lucky you, there's a "Next Month" button on the
screen when your Warriors are unavailable due to this reason.

As we watch the game progress into February, you'll notice Hideyoshi planning
an attack on Aurora. Anywho, once you gain control, re-enter Aurora and go
to the new feature, the Ravine, for a battle. Bring all of your whoppingly-huge
army.

O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild Pokmon       |  Turns: 10                              |
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:          |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Wooper (Ground/Water)   |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |
|  -- Meowth (Normal)         |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O

Wooper is weak to Grass (4x) only. It will be immune to Electric attacks.
It's move, Water Gun, will deal extra damage to Ground, Fire, and Rock types.
Water Gun is able to attack up to two tiles away. It also has the Deep Sleep
ability, which will let it restore HP while asleep.

Meowth is weak to Fighting and immune to Ghost. It can the move Fury Swipes,
which attacks an adjacent tile and deals super-effective damage to no one,
half-damage to Rock and Steel, and nothing at all to Ghost types.

As the battle begins, your partner will point out to you the Wooper and its
Water Gun. Well, this the point in the game where strategies slowly begin to
get more vague. Anyways, move Jigglypuff towards Wooper and Eevee towards
Meowth.

After the enemies' turn ends, your partner will mention how a Warrior can help
their Pokmon: through items, obviously, and Warrior Skills. Your partner's
skill is Sweet Song, which can heal all allies' HP. Yours is Top Speed, which
can increase attack range. These abilities can only be used once per battle,
and are used with the X Button when opting to move Pokmon.

Anywho, continue to get rid of your opponents. When Meowth went away, I noticed
a Treasure Box appeared. If you stand on that tile with a Pokmon, you can get
an item; I got a Fragment.

~~~
Advance to the next month afterwards. In March, some guys will come to you,
commenting on how you're merely training your Pokmon, but for what? Eventually
you'll have to invade another kingdom; after all, that elaborate event from
before meant something. Winning kingdoms can get Warriors and Pokmon to join
you.
Obviously, you have no choice now. Two months after their initial invasion, it
is time to pay a visit to Ignis. But this is no peaceful visit. Select the
kingdom of Ignis and opt to "Battle". Take your two Warriors with you.
O----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Hideyoshi's Army  |  Turns: 20                              |
O----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:         |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Tepig (Fire)           |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |
|  -- Bidoof (Normal)        |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
|  -- Chimchar (Fire)        |                                         |
O----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Tepig is weak to Rock, Ground, and Water. Its move, Ember, will hit a target
two tiles away. It deals super-effective damage to Fire, Ice, Bug, and Steel.
Like all Fire-type starter Pokmon, it has the Blaze ability, which will raise
its Attack once its HP is low.
Bidoof is weak to Fighting, and immune to Ghost. Its move, Headbutt, has a
one-tile range and will super-effective damage to no one, half-damage to Rock
and Steel, and nothing to Ghost.
Chimchar is weak to Rock, Ground, and Water. Its move, Ember, will hit a target
two tiles away. It deals super-effective damage to Fire, Ice, Bug, and Steel.
Like all Fire-type starter Pokmon, it has the Blaze ability, which will raise
its Attack once its HP is low.
Once the battle begins, Hideyoshi will comment on his Fire-themed arena,
where the fiery columns and the lava tiles will prevent you from coming near
him. But Fire-types like Tepig and Chimchar? They have free passage.
Also note the hot springs scattered around the battlefield. You can recover
from a Burn in there.
Move your Pokmon how you will and, on the next turn, your partner will notice
that some fire pillars will go down as time progresses. Anyways, given how your
opponent may be moving, I would suggest keeping Jigglypuff and Eevee together,
because that will allow a double counterattack should you get attacked. Or you
can use your ability to speed Eevee to Bidoof and let Jigglypuff sing the other
opponents to sleep when they get close.
Continue to move and fight as you will. Just note that, when the volcano is
active, some rocks may fall from above to damage Pokmon. Consider them Fire
damage. And don't forgot to use your partner's Sweet Song before using a
Potion.
~~~

Assuming you win the battle, you'll end up conquering your first of sixteen
kingdoms! Your Pokmon's moves should also get powered up!

After the battle, your partner comments on how we should be making some new
allies soon enough. Suddenly, an unknown man comes up and scolds you for doing
this while lacking such knowledge. He was impressed with your battle, though,
and tells you that he is called Keiji. When you're ready to learn how to make
allies, come to Ignis Castle.

Once you regain control, opt to save and advance to the next month. Then opt
to enter Ignis Castle.

Keiji will come up to you and remember that he decided to teach you how to make
allies. Apparently, it's easy. Not all Warriors are part of an army; many are
often just unattached and, in effect, are mercenaries. Keiji mentions a cave
and how some of them may be in there. He admits to being a free-range Warrior
as well and leaves to go shopping.

So, there are three places you are currently able to go. I first recommend the
northern one, the Ponigiri Shop. There, you buy ponigiri. Ponigiri is much like
EV-stat boosters from previous Pokmon games, but it increases their Energy,
which I guess is how enthusiastic they are; as it goes higher, so does their
power. All Pokmon have different Energy levels, and the level will change
every three months. You can get freebies, so eat up. Twice seemed to suffice to
get Eevee at max Energy.

The other thing, besides the cave, is a basic shop. There, you can buy and sell
various items. The prices differ for every customer -- I assume it is because
of their Charisma level, and that the higher it is will lower prices. You
should have at least $1,200. All I found worth buying is a Super Potion or two.

Once you're ready, head to the cave with both characters.

|  Battle: Rikyu's Darumaka   |  Turns: 10                              |
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:          |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Darumaka (Fire)         |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |
|                             |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------O

Darumaka is weak to Rock, Ground, and Water. It's move, Flame Wheel, can hit up
to two tiles away. That move deals super-effective damage to Ice, Bug, Steel,
and Grass. It has the Run Up ability, as well. This ability will raise Attack
in a manner proportionate to the distance it moves.

The battle begins with your partner noting the fact that Warriors are, indeed,
in here. Rikyu comes up and offers to join your group, if you impress him by
winning in four turns. With a two-on-one, that's hardly hard.

I'd begin by using Top Speed to move Eevee right onto the Treasure Box on the
field to find a Potion, then move Jigglypuff towards Darumaka. Darumaka, at
least for me, will move between the two of you and not attack. So you should
attack with both Pokmon. Darumaka still fails to attack; finish him on the
next turn.

~~~
After the battle, you select the Warriors you want to recruit. Since we send a
fair number into battle, it is worth recruiting Rikyu. Plus, Fire-types allow
us to begin abusing type disadvantages in earnest.
Rikyu has the Warrior Skill of Detox - it removes all paralysis and poisoning
from allies. He has the Darumaka from the previous battle.
To recruit Warriors, you must win in four turns, win by using a move that is
super-effective on their Pokmon, or win without taking damage. Sometimes,
there are also other special conditions you must fulfill.
As your partner comments on how nicely your army is growing, Mitsunari comes
by, mentioning that there *are* other kingdoms you can conquer, like Greenleaf
and Fontaine. Kiyomasa will note that Ignis used mostly Fire-types; this can
imply, for example, that Greenleaf will use mostly Grass-types, and other
kingdoms will specialize. Greenleaf and Fontaine don't really plan on
expanding, so now's our chance!
Continue to the next month. Now, though it may be optional, I recommend doing a
fight in the Cave again, this time to still recruit Warriors. After all, the
other two kingdoms will be using four Pokmon; why not us? Bring everyone
along.
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
|  -- Zubat (Poison/Flying)        |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
|  -- Tepig (Fire)                 |                                         |
|  -- Tepig (Fire)                 |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Tepig is weak to Rock, Ground, and Water. Its move, Ember, will hit a target
two tiles away. It deals super-effective damage to Fire, Ice, Bug, and Steel.
It has the Blaze ability, which will raise its Attack once its HP is low.
The wild Tepig is weak to Rock, Ground, and Water. Its move, Ember, will hit a
target two tiles away. It deals super-effective damage to Fire, Ice, Bug, and
Steel. It has the Celebrate ability, which allows an extra turn upon defeating
an enemy.
Charmander is weak to Rock, Ground, and Water. Its Ember will hit a target
two tiles away. It deals super-effective damage to Fire, Ice, Bug, and Steel.
It has the Blaze ability, which will raise its Attack once its HP is low.
Zubat is weak to Psychic, Rock, Ice, and Electric, and is immune to Ground.
It's Wing Attack will hit an adjacent tile, and deals extra damage to Grass,
Bug, and Fighting Pokmon. Its ability, Inner Focus, prevents flinching.
Now, obviously, we want to recruit Tepig and Charmander -- the ones at the
corners of the field. How do we do this? Well, we have no super-effective moves
at our disposal, and I doubt we'll get out of this unscathed. Begin by sending
Eevee, with Top Speed, straight to the Tepig next to the raised platforms; let
Jigglypuff and Darumaka deal with Charmander.
Remember, do not deal with the wild Pokmon; focus solely on the owned ones so
as to win in less than four turns. Darumaka has to have one tile between him
and the target to actually attack. And these Pokmon will attack, by the way.
~~~

You'll want to recruit both Warriors. Takatora will use Charmander and has the
ability Added Bonus, which allows three turns from the use of it to make it
more likely enemies will gain statuses. Hideaki uses Tepig and has the Fortify
Warrior Skill, which will raise Defense for three turns.

Now, there's no Warriors in the Cave, nor at the Ravine or the Farm in Aurora.
You're free to choose what to do now. I personally recommend going to use some
Ponigiri to raise Pokmon's Energy who have down-pointing arrows to at least a
up-right-pointing arrow. Shop a little at the shop, too, if you want.

Okay, so where to go? Our party consists of Eevee, Jigglypuff, Tepig, Darumaka,
and Charmander: two Normal-types and three Fire-types. That territory around
Fontaine is a bit worrying, so I suggest the Grass-specializing Greenleaf. So
let's fight! Take all five Warriors.

O----------------------------O---------------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Montonari's Army  |  Turns: 15                                  |

|  Opponent Pokmon:         |  Win/Lose Conditions:                       |
| -- Snivy (Grass) | -- Win by getting all of the banners. |
|  -- Pansage (Grass)        |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.      |
|  -- Sewaddle (Grass/Bug)   |  -- Lose by the enemy getting all banners.  |
|  -- Sewaddle (Grass/Bug)   |                                             |
O----------------------------O---------------------------------------------O

Snivy's picture looks a bit scary, huh? Anyways, it is weak to Fire, Ice, Bug,
Poison, and Flying. Its move, Vine Whip, will hit the tile in front of it and
the two next to it. That move will do extra damage to Ground, Rock, and Water.
It has the Overgrow ability, letting it do more damage once at low HP.

Pansage is also weak to Fire, Ice, Bug, Poison, and Flying. Its move, Vine
Whip, will hit the tile in front of it and the two next to it. That move will
do extra damage to Ground, Rock, and Water. It has the Melee ability, which may
have Pansage attack adjacent enemies during battle.

Sewaddle is weak to Fire (4x), Ice, Bug, Poison, Flying (4x), and Rock. Its
move, Bug Bite, will attack the enemy in front. It does extra damage to Grass,
Psychic, and Dark. One Sewaddle has the Grass Cloak ability, which raises
Defense while on grass terrain, while the other uses Stealth, which allows the
Sewaddle to evade the enemy's moves while on favorable terrain.

About the terrain of the area. Firstly, some of the bushy areas will grow some
vines at times to make a bridge. Secondly, the light-green hay patches mark
secret passages that are, in effect, warps. And, finally, there are some traps
on the field.

So, where to send everyone? I sent Eevee (with Top Speed) with Charmander
to the northern banner, and the others were to work to the central one, then
to go to the southwestern one. Remember, to claim a banner, you'll need to have
a Pokmon stop on the banner's tile. Doing so also restores the HP of a
Pokmon, so if one got damaged, you know what to do.

But don't be afraid to get rid of a Pokmon that gets in your way! Fire is
always the best to use. It is up to you whether you want to get rid of all of
the enemy Pokmon and then get the banners, or just go for the banners and
hope.

Bit of trivia: Motonari will mention at one point that there is a world where
people put Pokmon in little balls and carry them around. He finds this to be
strange, but forgets where he read it. He is speaking of the Kanto, Johto,
Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova regions of the mainstream games -- you know, the ones
named after colors and gems and minerals. There, Pokmon are carried in
Pokballs and Trainers will go from Gym to Gym to try and become Pokmon League
Champion by beating the Elite Four. Some, however, just have them for friends
or, like Motonari, for research.

I will also note that you can recruit Warriors here as well. I would prefer,
then, that you defeat all of the enemies using Fire-type attacks. You'll
greatly enjoy their help later on!

~~~
I was only able to recruit Motoharu, Takakage, and Takamoto. I don't know if
you can recruit Motonari.
Anyways, Motoharu uses Pansage as in the previous fight. He has the Mighty Blow
skill, which raises Attack. Takakage uses Sewaddle and the ability Adrenaline,
which raises Attack for three turns. Takamoto also uses Sewaddle and the
ability Brotherhood, which raises the user's and adjacent allies' Defense for
three turns.
Now save the game.
Now that we've beaten Greenleaf and conquered another kingdom, we could go
right to Fontaine and defeat them with our mighty Grass Pokmon that we should
have recruited in the previous fight.
But let's investigate Greenleaf more thoroughly. You can use the Ponigiri shop
if you want. You can also head to the Gold Mine, which I would start with.
Bring along the five you used versus Greenleaf's army.
You can learn how to use the mine. Here, you can dig for gold, the monetary
unit of this game. The dig is automatic, though the money earned is likely to
be proportionate to the number of Warriors used. For example, I found about
$1,300 with five Warriors.
Also, there can be Warriors at the Greenleaf Ravine here, so let's pay them a
visit, right? Use the same five as with the fight versus Greenleaf's army.
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Sewaddle is weak to Fire (4x), Ice, Bug, Poison, Flying (4x), and Rock. Its
move, Bug Bite, will attack the enemy in front. It does extra damage to Grass,
Psychic, and Dark. Sewaddle has the Grass Cloak ability, which will raise
Defense while on grass terrain.
Cottonee is weak to Fire, Ice, Bug, Poison, and Flying. It uses the move
Absorb, which will also take HP from the target in an amount equal to 50% of
the damage dealt. This move is super-effective against Rock, Water, and Ground.
It has the Melee ability, which will let it randomly attack adjacent enemies
sometimes in battle. The other Cottonee has the Mountaineer ability, which will
let it climb up higher cliffs and such.
So, what's the battle plan here? Well, I would safely send two Pokmon, one
Fire-type, to the left Cottonee and the other three to the other one. In this
way, if you run out of turns, you can still use a Fire-type move to defeat the
Cottonee and guarantee the recruitment. Sewaddle is just a wild Pokmon, so let
it be until you've beaten the Cottonee.
~~~

If you succeeded during the battle in recruiting the Cottonees' Trainers, you
may as well let them join. Ekei used the Cottonee with the Melee ability; his
Warrior Skill is Convalesce, which restores of the HP of the user and adjacent
allies over three turns. Terumoto has the other Cottonee and uses the Fortify
ability, which raises Defense for three turns.

There are still more Warriors here, though. Battle again next month, when the
person icon appears.

Carnivine is weak to Ice, Flying, Fire, Bug, and Poison. It has the move Vine
Whip, which hits the tile in front of it and the two left and right of that
one. It deals extra damage to Water, Ground, and Rock. It also has the
Levitate ability, which immunizes it from Ground moves.

Treecko is weak to Ice, Flying, Bug, Fire, and Poison. It uses the move Absorb,
and has the Mountaineer ability.

Cottonee is also weak to Fire, Ice, Flying, Bug, and Poison. It can use Absorb,
and has the Melee ability.

For this fight, simply focus on Carnivine first before defeating the others.

~~~
After the battle, you should recruit Takeyoshi. He uses Carnivine from the
previous fight and has the ability Eagle Eye, which improves attack accuracy
for three turns.
Seems like no one is left at Greenleaf. March your army that defeated Greenleaf
over to Aurora and head to the farm for another fight.
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Ekans is weak to Ground and Psychic. It uses the move Poison Sting, which will
deal extra damage to Grass types. Its ability, Intimidate, will reduce the
Attack of nearby enemies.
Minccino is weak to Fighting and immune to Ghost. It uses the attack DoubleSlap
which will hit an adjacent enemy two to five times; it has no type advantages.
It has the Mood Maker ability, which allows it to raise nearby allies' Energy.
Bidoof is weak to Fighting and immune to Ghost. It uses Headbutt, which hits an
adjacent enemy. It has no type advantages. It has the Simple ability, which
doubles the effects of any stat changes.
Ekans, being the only owned Pokmon here, should be the first target. After
that, you know what to do.
~~~

The Warrior you can recruit from this battle is Chacha. She uses the Ekans from
the previous fight and she has the Salve Warrior Skill, which will cure the
statuses of the user and adjacent allies.

Okay, I think that does it for recruitments now. Send all of your Fire-type
users somewhere else -- you can keep Eevee and Jigglypuff -- and march some
Grass-users to you. Carnivine, Pansage, and the two Cottonee will be best,
because they have Grass-type moves and resist Water attacks. Do some shopping
if you wish, then head to Fontaine.

|  Battle: Motochika's Army  |  Turns: 20                                |

O----------------------------O-------------------------------------------O

Oshawott is weak to Grass and Electric. It uses the move Water Gun, which can
hit enemies two tiles away, and does extra damage to Fire, Rock, and Ground.
It has the ability Torrent, which raises its Attack when in low HP.

Panpour is weak to Grass and Electric. It can use Water Gun, which will hit
enemies two tiles away, and does extra damage to Fire, Ground, and Rock. It has
the Melee ability, which will let it attack adjacent enemies during battle.

Piplup is weak to Electric and Grass. It can use Bubble, which will hit up to
two tiles away, and deals extra damage to Ground, Fire, and Rock. It has the
Torrent ability, which raises its Attack when in low HP.

Wooper is weak to Grass (4x) and immune to Electric. It can use Water Gun,
which will hit up to two tiles away, and will be super-effective against Fire,
Rock, and Ground. It has the Gulp ability, which will let the Pokmon recover
HP when in the water.

The battle begins with Motochika's side using the ground switches to let the
riverwater flow into the field. As you pretty much have no chance of having a
Water-type, you can't cross the water. What can you do? Well, there are two
such switches on your side of the field. Trigger one and you'll have partial
access to the other side; trigger both and the field's open for play. Note,
though, that the northern two switches can be re-triggered to let water flow
in.

So, basically, hit the switches and quickly invade the opposite side. Carnivine
should be okay on his own, what with Vine Whip and all. The two Cottonee should
double-team someone. Pansear can probably be okay by himself, and so should
Eevee and Jigglypuff. While they may be by themselves, someone else can always
come and help when they're done.

Remember, since you're unlikely to finish off a lot of Pokmon in four turns,
try to finish off each one with a Grass-type move!

~~~
Like against Motonari, I don't think you can recruit Motochika. Anyways,
Nobuchika will use Panpour and uses the Warrior Skill Crack Shot, which
guarantees that moves hit. Morichika uses Wooper and has the Eagle Eye Warrior
Skill, which improves accuracy for three turns. Chikamasa uses Piplup and has
the Warrior Skill Shout, which cures all allies of Confusion or being asleep.
All will make nice additions to your team.
Well, congratulations! You have conquered another kingdom, number four of
seventeen (counting Aurora).
 #############################################################################
After the battle, during the night, you'll speak with your partner. They'll
mention the story of the legendary Pokmon said to appear before those who
conquer all seventeen kingdoms, of which we've conquered four. Your partner
believes that Ransei is on the brink of destruction...
Far north of Aurora, another Warlord has also set out to conquer kingdoms. His
name: Nobunaga (kudos for those getting the reference!). He aims to conquer to
conquer all of the kingdoms ... so as to destroy Ransei. Because of the steps
he's following, it's obvious he needs the legendary Pokmon. We need to find
that Pokmon before he does!
Well, anyways, you'll make it to the world map. Save.
Three new kingdoms are available for conquering: Pugilis, Violight, and
Chrysalia. They specialize in Fighting, Electric, and Bug Pokmon,
respectively. With our current army, we'd have no problem with Chrysalia, but
let's do a bit more recruiting, eh? (Not to mention we can't reach 'em.)
I also fear that these three kingdoms are a bit more aggressive than the others
and may try invading us. Since we'll be forced to, pretty much, deal with what
soldiers we have there, move all spares into Greenleaf and Ignis.
First up, into Fontaine. Head to the Ravine for now. Bring along the army you
used earlier to beat Fontaine's army.
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Spheal is weak to Electric, Grass, Fighting, and Rock. It can use the move
Powder Snow, which hits enemies up to two tiles away. This move will deal extra
damage to Flying, Ground, Grass, and Dragon. It has the Deep Sleep ability,
which lets it heal HP while asleep.
Piplup is weak to Electric and Grass. It can use Bubble, which will hit up to
two tiles away, and deals extra damage to Ground, Fire, and Rock. It has the
Wave Rider ability which will let Piplup move more whilst on the water.
And Magikarp is what you'd expect, having played any other true Pokmon game.
It is weak to Electric and Grass. It's move is Splash, which has absolutely no
effect at all. Its Gulp ability will let it heal HP while in the water. In
short, it is only the mildest of hassles.
Let Eevee or Jigglypuff take down Magikarp, and let the other five deal with
the other two. Should be easy enough.
~~~

Takeyori is the Warrior for Magikarp. While Magikarp sucks like you breathe,
call it completionism.

After that, skip a month into July of Year 2. Now we can find two other recruit
choices at the Ravine in Fontaine, and they're light-years ahead of a Magikarp.
Again, bring along the Fontaine-defeating team.

|  -- Wooper (Water/Ground)        |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O

Wooper is weak to Grass (4x) and immune to Electric. It can use Water Gun,
which will hit up to two tiles away, and will be super-effective against Fire,
Rock, and Ground. One has the Gulp ability, which will let the Pokmon recover
HP when in the water, and the other Pokmon has the Deep Sleep ability, which
lets it recover HP while asleep.

Piplup is weak to Electric and Grass. It can use Bubble, which will hit up to
two tiles away, and deals extra damage to Ground, Fire, and Rock. It has the
Torrent ability, which raises its Attack when in low HP.

Okay, if your enemy positions were like mine, you can easily just let the left
half of the six go to Wooper, and the right half go straight for Piplup. If
not ... Well, you get the idea: gang up the owned Wooper and Piplup and finish
them quickly or, if you take too long, with a Grass-type attack.

~~~
Your recruits: Norishige trained Wooper (the one with Gulp) and has the Bustle
ability, which can increase the Range of the user and adjacent allies; a true
bounty in conjunction with Top Speed! Tadasumi has the Deep Breath Warrior
Skill, which restores HP at the cost of not moving for three turns.
Well, it seems like that does it then. Shop up and do whatever you feel is
necessary in preparation. Our next goal is Violight, the Electric kingdom.
Who to bring? Well, Woopers are a must, because of their Electric immunity.
Carnivine is also nice, because of his high power and resistance to Electric.
Eevee and Jigglypuff are musts -- mostly because of Warrior Skills AND it is
a requirement. And, since we have to pick one more person, and don't want too
many Grass types to be abused by Starly, let's go with some Fire-type you love.
So march them over to Greenleaf and prepare for battle!
O-----------------------------O-------------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Ginchiyo's Army    |  Turns: 20                                |
O-----------------------------O-------------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:          |  Win/Lose Conditions:                     |
|  -- Shinx (Electric)        |  -- Win by defeating all of the enemies.  |
|  -- Starly (Normal/Flying)  |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.    |
|  -- Mareep (Electric)       |                                           |
O-----------------------------O-------------------------------------------O
Shinx is weak to Ground. Its move is Spark, which hits an adjacent tile, and
deals extra damage to Flying and Water. It has the Sequence ability, which will
raise its Attack when several Electric Pokmon are together.
Starly is weak to Rock, Ice, and Electric, and immune to Ghost and Ground. Its
move is Quick Attack, which will hit an adjacent tile, and has no type-based
advantages. Its ability is Keen Eye, which will prevent lowered accuracy for
it.
Pichu is weak to Ground. Its move is Thundershock, which can hit up to two
tiles away, may paralyze, and deals extra damage to Flying and Water. Its
ability is Mood Maker, which increases the Energy of nearby allies.
Panpour is weak to Grass and Electric. Its move is Water Gun, which can hit up
to two tiles away, and will do extra damage to Rock, Ground, and Fire. Its
ability is Melee, which may let it hit adjacent enemies during battle.
Mareep is weak to Ground. Its move is Thundershock, which can hit up to two
tiles away, may paralyze, and deals extra damage to Flying and Water. Its
ability is Interference, which will lower the accuracy of nearby enemies.
Okay, in reality, there is no way you can recruit four of these Pokmon,
because, for now, you lack the proper stats. You MIGHT be able to recruit a few
by beating them in less than four turns, so you'll have to be quick on it.
Remember, Electric types resist Electric, Flying, and Steel, take extra damage
from Ground, and normal damage from all else.
So, who to go for first? Shinx, Pichu, and Mareep will always be key players in
future fights because of their moves, the latter two especially. I would gang
up three of my Pokmon each on two of the ones I want to recruit. While my move
types would deal extra damage, they're still powerful enough to finish them in
less than four turns; at least two recruits should result from this fight.
It will also take a whole turn and your half of the second to reach the others
for offense, so it will probably take three turns to take down the ones you
want. Again, I highly suggest aiming for the Pichu and Mareep. Shinx won't work
out because of his Warrior, Starly is generic, and you should have plenty of
Water-types.
Later in the fight, perhaps on the third turn, the electrical system will
activate. This means that, every now and then, lightning bolts will fall down
from above, inflicting presumably Electric-type damage.
And what do those switches on the field do? Well, they seem to toss lightning
down on one-fourth of the field diagonally-opposite the switch.
~~~

So, recruit data. Muneshige trained Starly and has the Marksman Skill, which
will improve accuracy and critical-hit rate for three turns. Shoun trained
Pichu and has the Warrior Skill Rally, which raises the Attack of the user and
adjacent allies for three turns.

Sorin trained Panpour and has the Rally Warrior Skill as well. Takatane
trained Mareep and, like the main character, has the Top Speed Warrior Skill.

Now, let's get on to the next kingdom!

Now that you've claimed another kingdom, I'd say it is time again to recruit
some more Warriors. First, skip to the next month to refresh your army -- note
that I'm at September, Year 2 -- and Keiji should appear. He'll mention to you
that you should link with other Pokmon in an attempt to find a Perfect Link
Pokmon. (Of course, that allows you to reach a higher Link and higher power.
Do it as you will, since I'll mostly refer to Pokmon you bring anyways.)

Time to claim another kingdom!

But first, let's explore our current kingdom, Violight. Here, you can find a
Power Plant. Send some people with high Wisdom there. The Power Plant will
send out energy that will bring wild Pokmon here. You can use this to make a
battle for link-boosting or meeting shy Pokmon. Do it as you will; I didn't
really bother.

Our next stop should be Violight Sky Garden for three recruits (still September
in Year 2). Send pretty much whoever you want.

O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:               |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |

|  -- Pichu (Electric)             |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O

Ekans is weak to Ground and Psychic. It uses the move Poison Sting, which will
deal extra damage to Grass types. Its ability, Intimidate, will reduce the
Attack of nearby enemies.

Rufflet is weak to Rock, Ice, and Electric, and is immune to both Ground and
Ghost. Its move, Wing Attack, attacks an adjacent enemy and will deal extra
damage to Bug, Grass, or Fighting Pokmon. It has the Keen Eye ability, which
prevents its accuracy from going down.

Carnivine is weak to Flying, Fire, Ice, Bug, and Poison. Its attack is Vine
Whip, which will hit the tile in front of it and the tiles left and right of
there, and deals extra damage to Water, Rock, and Ground. Its ability,
Levitate, will immunize it from Ground moves.

Pichu is weak to Ground. Its move is ThunderShock, which can attack up to two
tiles away, and will deal extra damage to Flying and Water, and may paralyze
the target. Its ability is Static, which means that a contact attack may cause
the move's user to become paralyzed.

Before the fight begins in earnest, you'll understand how to obtain new Link
Pokmon for your characters. Basically, you want to find a Pokmon that has a
marking above their heads to mark an affinity for them. Then just move next to
the Pokmon and tap Link. Got it? Use this to find everyone's Perfect Link!

So, what to do? Well, the Pokmon here are not exactly unique, so I guess just
gang up on whoever you want. You can deal super-effective damage to both
Rufflet (via Pichu and Mareep) and Carnivine (Fire-types, Sewaddle, Ekans), so,
if you want all of them, just take out Ekans and Pichu first. Then take out
Carnivine and Rufflet via super-effective attacks.

~~~
Next month, fight in there again for a chance at some more.
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
|  -- Pichu (Electric)             |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Machop is weak to Flying and Psychic. Its move, Karate Chop, often deals
critical hits, hits an adjacent enemy, and will do extra damage to Normal,
Rock, Ice, Dark, and Steel. Its ability, Guts, will raise its Attack when under
the influence of a status.
Rufflet is weak to Rock, Ice, and Electric, and is immune to both Ground and
Ghost. Its move, Wing Attack, attacks an adjacent enemy and will deal extra
damage to Bug, Grass, or Fighting Pokmon. It has the Keen Eye ability, which
prevents its accuracy from going down.
Mareep is weak to Ground. Its move is ThunderShock, which can attack up to two
tiles away, and will deal extra damage to Flying and Water, and may paralyze
the target. Its ability is Calming, which may put enemies to sleep.
Pichu is weak to Ground. Its move is ThunderShock, which can attack up to two
tiles away, and will deal extra damage to Flying and Water, and may paralyze
the target. Its ability is Static, which means that a contact attack may cause
the move's user to become paralyzed.
So, who do you want here? Well, by far you'll want the Machop Warrior. As for
Rufflet, you probably already have one or an equivalent Pokmon, so, if you
have time, why not? I'd recommend first ganging up on Machop, then Rufflet,
then go for the rest at will. Pichu and Mareep are okay links, I guess, if you
didn't get enough Electric-types in the battle for Violight.
~~~

Time to discuss these recruits. Dosetsu trained Machop and has the Marksman
Warrior Skill, which raises accuracy and the critical-hit rate for three turns.
Hisahide trained Rufflet and has the Quick Strike Warrior Skill, which will
increase Range and make enemies flinch.

At this point, all areas seem to be clear. Time to invade Chrysalia. So, who to
bring?

Well, Eevee and Jigglypuff are required, of course. Charmander, Tepig, and
Darumaka finish off pretty much all type advantages, except versus Spheal, so
bring along the trust Carnivine for this as well. Just keep 'im out of the way
of the Bugs! March your party of six into Violight and invade Chrysalia.

|  Battle: Yoshimoto's Army  |  Turns: 20                                |
O----------------------------O-------------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:         |  Win/Lose Conditions:                     |
| -- Pineco (Bug) | -- Win by defeating all of the enemies. |
|  -- Venipede (Bug/Poison)  |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.    |
|  -- Spheal (Water/Ice)     |                                           |
|  -- Venipede (Bug/Poison)  |                                           |
|  -- Sewaddle (Bug/Grass)   |                                           |
O----------------------------O-------------------------------------------O

Pineco is weak to Fire, Flying, and Rock. Its move, Bug Bite, will attack an
adjacent enemy, possibly use their item, and will do extra damage to Grass,
Dark, and Psychic. Its ability, Jagged Edge, means that a contact attack on
Pineco will induce physical damage upon the attacker.

Both Venipede are the same, as far as type data, moves, and abilities go. They
are weak to Fire, Flying, Rock, and Psychic. Their move is Poison Sting, which
can attack up to two tiles away, may induce poisoning, and will do extra
damage to Grass. Their ability is Poison Point, which means that contact
attacks may induce poisoning upon the attacker.

Spheal is weak to Grass, Electric, Fighting, and Rock. Its move is Powder Snow,
which may attack up to two tiles away, and does extra damage to Grass, Flying,
and Dragon. Its ability, Deep Sleep, will let it heal HP whilst sleeping.

Sewaddle is weak to Fire (4x), Flying (4x), Rock, Poison, Ice, Bug. Its move
is Bug Bite: it will attack an adjacent enemy, may use their item, does extra
damage to Grass, Dark, and Psychic. Its ability is Grass Cloak, which raises
its Defense when on grassy terrain.

So, what to do? Well, basically send Carnivine and two Fire-types after Spheal;
the Fire-types will provide back-up for, after all, Spheal is near other Bug
Pokmon. Another thing you can do is abuse the Pokmari balls on the field -
hit one and it'll fly in that direction, damaging any Pokmon it hits. Just
beware that you don't get hit!

~~~
One more down! Onto recruit details, I guess. I will note that I didn't manage
to get the Spheal Warrior...
Ujichika trained one of the Venipedes, and has the Temperate Warrior Skill,
whichs all allies of the Burn and Frozen statuses. Masatsuna trained the other
Venipede and has the Rally Warrior Skill, which raises the Attack of the user
and adjacent allies for three turns. Yasutomo trained Sewaddle and has the
Mighty Blow Warrior Skill, which raises Attack.
So, we now have six of the seventeen kingdoms, huh? Well, after conquering
Chrysalia and skipping to the next month -- for me, December of Year 2 -- a
messenger will come up, claiming that an elderly man is requesting an audience
with you. The Professor soon comes and decides to share some of his wisdom with
you.
If you ask about "Stats", he'll tell of the three stats. (Not nearly as many as
in the mainstream games.) Attack determines the power of all attacks you do,
Defense determines how much damage you'll take from any attack, and Speed will
raise accuracy and evasion.
As a for "Move Ranks", it works kind of like in Pokmon Mystery Dungeon. Each
move starts out as just the move name, as with "Thunderbolt". As your link with
the Pokmon becomes better, you'll eventually get "Thunderbolt +1",
"Thunderbolt +2", and so on. This increases the move's power, and also will add
in some special effects.
It seems you can get some recruits in the Sky Garden of Violight, so head there
with some Pokmon.
Ekans is weak to Ground and Psychic. It uses the move Poison Sting, which will
deal extra damage to Grass types. Its ability, Intimidate, will reduce the
Attack of nearby enemies.
Ralts is weak to Dark, Ghost, and Bug. It uses the move Confusion, which deals
damage on a tile three tiles away, and also deals extra damage to Fighting and
Poison. Its ability is Instinct, which raises its evasion.
Mareep is weak to Ground. Its move is ThunderShock, which can attack up to two
tiles away, and will deal extra damage to Flying and Water, and may paralyze
the target. Its ability is Calming, which may put enemies to sleep.
First things first. That Ralts has a Warrior/trainer, and we have a Fighting
kingdom up next. Gang up on it and beat it in four turns or less! Ekans have
been plentiful, so you can pretty much ignore that. And Mareep is, well,
Mareep. It may make a nice link.
~~~

On the next month, having not recruited either Pokmon from the previous
battle, I found a special fight back there again.

Shinx is weak to Ground. Its move is Spark, which hits an adjacent tile, and
deals extra damage to Flying and Water. It has the Sequence ability, which will
raise its Attack when several Electric Pokmon are together.

Joltik is weak to Ground. Its move is Electro Ball, which hits a tile two tiles
away, deals more damage to faster targets, Water, and Flying. Its ability is
also Sequence.

First and foremost, if you failed to get Ralts from before, get it. Also try to
get Shinx. It is not the best Pokmon, and I do not know the recruitment
conditions, but, if anything, consider it a chance to try and figure it out.

~~~
At this point, I then went to Chrysalia and found its old leader, the Spheal
trainer I hadn't got, and someone else there. It is worth a shot. (Remember,
this is February in Year 3.)
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
|  -- Venipede (Bug/Poison)        |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Pansear is weak to Ground, Water, and Rock. Its move is Flame Burst. This will
hit one tile two tiles away, then all diagonally-adjacent tiles. It can burn
you, and will do extra damage to Steel, Ice, Grass, and Bug. Its ability is
Melee, which will let it hit adjacent enemies during battle.
Pineco is weak to Fire, Flying, and Rock. Its move, Bug Bite, will attack an
adjacent enemy, possibly use their item, and will do extra damage to Grass,
Dark, and Psychic. Its ability, Jagged Edge, means that a contact attack on
Pineco will induce physical damage upon the attacker.
The Venipede is weak to Fire, Flying, Rock, and Psychic. Its move is Poison
Sting, which can attack up to two tiles away, may induce poisoning, and will do
extra damage to Grass. Its ability is Jagged Edge.
Spheal is weak to Grass, Electric, Fighting, and Rock. Its move is Powder Snow,
which may attack up to two tiles away, and does extra damage to Grass, Flying,
and Dragon. Its ability, Deep Sleep, will let it heal HP whilst sleeping.
Given my circumstances, and how Pineco is unrecruitable by my knowledge, I
would go, first, for Spheal or Pansear. You have an abundance of them, but
Pansear and Spheal are actually quite good. Plus, Spheal's attack is Ice, not
Water. Gang up on Spheal with Electric/Grass types, and Pansear with Water.
~~~

Okay, I think that is enough recruiting for now. Gather some Pokmon in
Chrysalia for your invasion of Pugilis, the Fighting kingdom.

So, Eevee and Jigglypuff are (sadly) required. Ralts is a good idea, and so is
the Rufflet with Wing Attack. Other two? Well, I had a Charmeleon, but, in
general, you'll want a Fire-type. Pansear or Carnivine might make a good sixth.
Once you're ready, head into Pugilis.

O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Yoshihiro's Army  |  Turns: 30                                     |
O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:         |  Win/Lose Conditions:                          |
| -- Gurdurr (Fighting) | -- Win by holding all banners for five turns. |
|  -- Timburr (Fighting)     |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.         |
| -- Pansear (Grass) | -- Lose if enemies hold banners for 5 turns. |
|  -- Machop (Fighting)      |                                                |
|  -- Timburr (Fighting)     |                                                |
O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O

Gurdurr is weak to Flying and Psychic. Its move is Wake-Up Slap, which hits an
adjacent enemy, and does greater damage to Sleeping targets, Rock, Ice, Steel,
and Normal. Its ability is Thrust, letting it push back enemies with attacks.

Timburr are weak to Flying and Psychic. Both use Low Kick, which hits an
adjacent enemy and deals more damage to Rock, Steel, Ice, and Normal. Both have
the Thrust ability, which lets them push targets away.

Pansear is weak to Fire, Ice, Flying, Poison, and Bug. It uses Vine Whip, which
attacks the three tiles it is facing, and does extra damage to Ground, Rock,
and Water. Its ability is Melee, allowing it to randomly hit adjacent enemies
during battle.

Machop is weak to Flying and Psychic. Its move is Karate Chop, which hits an
adjacent enemy, has a raised critical-hit rate, and deals extra damage to Rock,
Ice, Steel, and Normal. Its ability is Guts, which raises its attack when under
a status effect.

Like with the fight versus Greenleaf, you'll find some banners. They function
like before: stand under one to hold it, and you'll gain HP while under it. You
must be under all banners for five turns to win; you'll lose if the enemy does
the same. Additionally, when attacked at the edge of the banners' ring, you'll
fall to the ground below.

First and foremost, get Eevee underneath the southwestern banner via Top Speed.
Move everyone except Ralts towards the ring. Why not Ralts? Well, its Confusion
will attack only three tiles away. From the edge of the ring, you can attack
ring-edge enemies. Of course, this also limits its versatility for the other
three sides, so it is your choice.

So, obviously, you have a choice. You can either pick off the enemies as they
come and wait until they're gone for you to go for all of the remaining
banners, or try and get lucky. Personally, I'd pick off as many as I could to
recruit them and make this fight a lot easier.

If you do opt to just defeat your opponents first, I would suggest, before
heading to the banners, to pick up all of the item boxes left behind. It should
not take much more than ten turns to defeat them all, after all.

~~~
I managed to recruit the two Timburr Warriors and the Pansage one. Tadamoto
trained one Timburr and has the skill Fortify, whereas the other one, Kanemori,
has Brotherhood. Tadatsune trained Pansage and has the Top Speed ability.
So, we've won seven of the seventeen kingdoms, huh?
As you and your partner celebrate having claimed another kingdom, Mitsunari
comes in to rain on your parade. Apparently, more is happening up north...
Nobunaga has already claimed eight of the kingdoms up there, leaving only
TWO under control of someone other than Nobunaga or yourself: Terrera, headed
by Shingen, and Illusio, headed by Kenshin. Both of them are some of the
strongest Warlords in Ransei; Nobunaga is said to actually fear them. But will
that stop him?
Imagine what would happen if Nobunaga took those kingdoms. A ten-on-seven
match, which would easily occur, would be suicide. We must get Illusio and
Terrera on our side to even the odds!!
So, save your progress.
Both of the areas actually seem quite easily, personally. Illusio uses Psychic
Pokmon, which have no advantage over some of our Pokmon, and Terrera
obviously uses the Ground type, and we have many Grass and Water types. But we
must try a bit of recruitment regardless.
Skip along to the next month (April of Year 3 for me). You can go ahead and
battle some guy in the Park at Pugilis, alongside two wild Pokmon. Your team
from our previous battle should be fine.
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:               |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Onix (Rock/Ground)           |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |
|  -- Machop (Fighting)            |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
|  -- Timburr (Fighting)           |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Onix is weak to Water (4x), Grass (4x), Steel, Ice, and Ground. It is also
immune to Electric. Its move is Rock Tomb, which hits an enemy two tiles away.
Its ability is Jagged Edge: physical contact results in damage.
Machop is weak to Flying and Psychic. Its move is Karate Chop, which hits an
adjacent enemy, has a raised critical-hit rate, and deals extra damage to Rock,
Ice, Steel, and Normal. Its ability is Thrust, which lets it push targets away.
Timburr is weak to Flying and Psychic. It move is Low Kick, which hits an
adjacent enemy and deals more damage to Rock, Steel, Ice, and Normal. Its
ability is Guts, which raises its attack when under a status effect.
We're mostly here for the Onix, unless you want to link for Fighters. (Of
course, most of Fighting's advantages are covered by other types.) Gang up
some Grass/Water on the Onix at the start.
~~~

The next month yielded a Venipede Warrior at the same park; that's not really
worth it, so ignore it. In fact, pretty much every other fight out there is
worthless. At least to me. I won't waste time covering them, but now, during
May of Year 3, you can find these Warriors:

-- Machop at Chrysalia Ravine
-- Tepig at Ignis Cave
-- Ekans at Violight Sky Garden
-- Venipede at Pugilis Park

So, fight them if you want, but I wouldn't really bother unless you were just
doing that for the link boosting.

So, I guess we might as well conquer another kingdom. Terrera seems the easiest
of the two. It specializes in Ground, so who to bring?

Eevee and Jigglypuff are required. Pansage, Carnivine, Panpour, Piplup, Wooper,
you know, pretty much any decent Water- or Grass-type you can find. I won't be
picky. But, for reference, my extras were Pansage, Carnivine, and two Woopers.
I'll also note I attacked from Pugilis.

O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Shingen's Army    |  Turns: 30                                     |
O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:         |  Win/Lose Conditions:                          |
| -- Tepig (Fire) | -- Win by holding all banners for five turns. |
|  -- Scraggy (Dark/Fighting)|  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.         |
|  -- Rhyhorn (Rock/Ground)  |  -- Lose if enemies hold banners for 5 turns.  |
|  -- Drilbur (Ground)       |                                                |

O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O

Tepig is weak to Rock, Ground, and Water. Its move, Ember, will hit a target
two tiles away. It deals super-effective damage to Fire, Ice, Bug, and Steel.
Like all Fire-type starter Pokmon, it has the Blaze ability, which will raise
its Attack once its HP is low.

Scraggy is weak to Flying and Fighting. Its move, Faint Attack, will always hit
the adjacent enemy, and also does extra damage to Psychic and Ghost.

Rhyhorn is weak to Water (4x), Grass (4x), Steel, Ice, and Ground. It is also
immune to Electric. Its move is Bulldoze, which hits all adjacent enemies,
reduces Speed, and does extra damage to Fire, Rock, Poison, Electric, and
Steel. Its ability, Lightningrod, lets it absorb an Electric attack to raise
its own Attack.

Drilbur is weak to Water, Grass, and Ice. Its move is Dig: it will dig
underground in one turn, then hit the enemy on the next. It does extra damage
to Fire, Poison, Steel, Rock, and Electric. Its ability, Sandpit, will heal
its HP while on soil or sand.

Charmander is weak to Rock, Ground, and Water. Its move, Ember, hits targets
two tiles away. It deals super-effective damage to Fire, Ice, Bug, and Steel.
Like all Fire-type starter Pokmon, it has the Blaze ability, which will raise
its Attack once its HP is low.

During a cutscene prior to the actual battle, Shingen refuses to battle you,
thinking you're too weak. As you leave to do something else, your partner
notices that Shingen is actually attacking your kingdom in Pugilis!! So, rather
than face Shingen himself, you'll face one of his cronies.

So, what to do? Like back in Pugilis, you'll be fighting for the control of the
four banners. Again, move Eevee straight to the southwestern one and let
everyone creep onto the field. Same rules apply, it's the same as before, so
just read up there.

I'll also note that you cannot recruit anyone from this battle, so just enjoy
the mass link boost.

~~~
After the battle, the Terreran soldiers good-heartedly leave and, suddenly,
your main character somehow transforms. Apparently, it is like Pokmon
evolution -- you become more powerful.
So, let's try this again, shall we? Go into Terrera and let's beat Shingen.
O----------------------------O-----------------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Shingen's Army    |  Turns: 30                                    |
|  -- Rhyperior (Rock/Ground)|                                               |
O----------------------------O-----------------------------------------------O
Tepig is weak to Rock, Ground, and Water. Its move, Ember, will hit a target
two tiles away. It deals super-effective damage to Fire, Ice, Bug, and Steel.
Like all Fire-type starter Pokmon, it has the Blaze ability, which will raise
its Attack once its HP is low.
Scraggy is weak to Flying and Fighting. Its move, Faint Attack, will always hit
the adjacent enemy, and also does extra damage to Psychic and Ghost.
Rhyhorn is weak to Water (4x), Grass (4x), Steel, Ice, and Ground. It is also
immune to Electric. Its move is Bulldoze, which hits all adjacent enemies,
reduces Speed, and does extra damage to Fire, Rock, Poison, Electric, and
Steel. Its ability, Lightningrod, lets it absorb an Electric attack to raise
its own Attack.
Drilbur is weak to Water, Grass, and Ice. Its move is Dig: it will dig
underground in one turn, then hit the enemy on the next. It does extra damage
to Fire, Poison, Steel, Rock, and Electric. Its ability, Sandpit, will heal
its HP while on soil or sand.
Charmander is weak to Rock, Ground, and Water. Its move, Ember, hits targets
two tiles away. It deals super-effective damage to Fire, Ice, Bug, and Steel.
Like all Fire-type starter Pokmon, it has the Blaze ability, which will raise
its Attack once its HP is low.
Rhyperio is weak to Water (4x), Grass (4x), Steel, Ice, and Ground. It is also
immune to Electric. Its move is Rock Wrecker, which hits a tile three tiles
away, and does extra damage to Flying, Ice, Fire, and Bug. It cannot be used
twice in a row. Its ability, Lightningrod, lets it absorb an Electric attack
to raise its own Attack.
Like with the battle in Greenleaf, we'll have to claim all three banners. Like
usual, stand under one to claim it. You need not hold it for X turns, so just
hope you get to one fast enough. Each one is atop a tower. You'll need to use
a lift near the tower to get up there.
Now transformed, for some reason, you get a different Warrior Skill -- rather
than Top Speed, you get Courage, which boosts Attack AND Range. I sent Eevee
to the northeastern tower, my northern remaining trio to the center tower, and
the other two to the southwestern tower.
Who do you want to recruit? Well, I think Shingen is an automatic win for the
fight, or he just came because I got all the banners without him getting one;
either way, you  *WANT*  him. The Drilbur guy is okay, as is Rhydon. Others,
not too much. Tepig and Charmander you should have, and Scraggy doesn't really
get a bunch of use. I'll only explain the wanted ones after the fight.
~~~

Well, after the battle, an interesting cutscene occurs. Shingen admits he never
wanted to win; in fact, he planned on joining us the whole time! Then comes in
Kenshin, claiming the same for Illusio -- he gives you his own kingdom without
a fight! Two at once, eh?

Now, if you recruited the good ones... Shingen trained Rhyperior and has the
Rally ability (boosts Attack of user and adjacent Pokmon). Katsuyori trains
Drilbur and has the Mighty Blow ability, which raises Attack. Masatoyo has the
familiar Brotherhood ability -- it is Rally, but for Defense.

Congrats! You just got a two-for-one deal. That's REALLY gonna mess up my
section numbering. :)

So, we got two kingdoms at once. We now have nine of the kingdoms in Ransei,
while Nobunaga has the northern eight. It seems like an all-out war is to come.
While we all reflect on this, your partner has made us some food.

As we take this time to calm down, we realize how little this time is.
Suddenly, Nobunaga appears ... and is that ZEKROM!? Hoo, boy... There's no way
we can stand up to that legendary Pokmon. Anyhow, Nobunaga is also soon found
to be your partner's brother, which is mildly startling. After the scene ends,
it is stated that you must first beat Nobunaga's subordinates before facing
him in Dragnor.

So, four more kingdoms are made available: Cragspur, which specializes in Rock;
Viperia, which specializes in Poison; Avia, which specializes in Flying; and
Yakshma, which specializes in Dark. Given, Rock is likely to be the easy one.
We'll do it first, but first, recruitments!

So, it is July of Year 3 on my playthrough. Recruits are at the Farm in Terrera
and they look fairly decent.

O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:               |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Shieldon (Rock/Steel)        |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |
|  -- Scyther (Bug/Flying)         |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
|  -- Drilbur (Ground)             |                                         |
|  -- Wooper (Water/Ground)        |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O

Shieldon is weak to Fighting (4x), Ground (4x), and Water. Its move is Iron
Head, which can hit up to two tiles away, may cause flinching, and does extra
damage to Rock and Ice. Its ability is Shield, which allows it to take damage
for allies.

Scyther is weak to Rock (4x), Fire, Electric, and Flying. Its move is Fury
Cutter, which deals damage on the three tiles its facing, is powerful when used
in succession, and deals extra damage to Dark, Grass, and Psychic. Its Swarm
ability raises its Attack when in low HP.

Drilbur is weak to Water, Grass, and Ice. Its move is Dig: it will dig
underground in one turn, then hit the enemy on the next. It does extra damage
to Fire, Poison, Steel, Rock, and Electric. Its ability, Sandpit, will heal
its HP while on soil or sand.

Wooper is weak to Grass (4x) and immune to Electric. It can use Water Gun,
which will hit up to two tiles away, and will be super-effective against Fire,
Rock, and Ground. It has the Deep Sleep ability, which lets it recover HP while
asleep.

So, who first? Well, Shieldon is of the Rock/Steel-type, which gives it a HUGE
set of defenses you'll love, and it has a Steel-type move, a rarity. Scyther is
also pretty good. And Drilbur should be one you've already obtained. I'd first
gang up on Shieldon, then go for Scyther, then Drilbur.

~~~
Recruit data! Tomonobu trained Shieldon and has the Shout Warrior Skill, which
will cure allies of Sleep/Confusion. Masakage trained Scyther and has the Deep
Breath Warrior Skill, which restores HP at the cost of not moving for three
turns. Yataro trained Drilbur and has the Impact Warrior Skill, causing enemies
to flinch for three turns. All in all, not a bad set.
On the next month, August of Year 3, you'll find Starly and Magikarp Warriors
in the Terrera Farm. Not a very good choice, nor is any other area available at
that time.
-- Terrera's Farm yields Magikarp and Starly Warriors.
-- Illusio's Floating Rock yields an Ekans Warrior and a Beedrill Warrior.
-- Pugilis's Park yields a Venipede Warrior.
-- Greenleaf's Ravine yields a Tepig Warrior.
-- Violight's Sky Garden yields an Anorith and a Shinx Warrior, the latter being
   special and under unknown special recruitment conditions.
-- Ignis's Cave yields Machop, Gurdurr, and Pineco Warriors, the last one being
   under unknown special recruitment conditions.
Take who you want. I'm only really in this to provide stuff on decent recruits,
and these aren't exactly good. So, do your recruitment, I guess.
Once you're ready, let's march some people into Terrera to invade Cragspur. But
who?
Eevee and Jigglypuff are required, as always. You'll want to bring some Water
Pokmon and some Grass Pokmon, but try to specialize with the former, because
of the Pansear you'll also fight. Pretty simple, so let's go.
O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Nobunaga's Army   |  Turns: 20                                     |
O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:         |  Win/Lose Conditions:                          |
|  -- Boldore (Rock)         |  -- Win by defeating all of the enemy Pokmon. |
|  -- Pansear (Fire)         |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.         |
|  -- Machop (Fighting)      |                                                |
|  -- Larvitar (Rock/Ground) |                                                |
|  -- Onix (Rock/Ground)     |                                                |
|  -- Roggenrola (Rock)      |                                                |
O----------------------------O------------------------------------------------O
Boldore is weak to Grass, Water, Steel, Ground, and Fighting. Its move is
Rock Slide, which hits three tiles in front of it, may cause flinching, and
will deal extra damage to Fire, Ice, and Flying. Its ability, Sturdy, stops
one-hit KO attacks.
Pansear is weak to Water, Ground, and Rock. Its move is Flame Burst, which hits
the tile two tiles in front of it and all diagonally-adjacent tiles, and deals
extra damage to Steel, Grass, Ice, and Bug. Its ability is Melee, which lets it
hit adjacent enemies in the heat of battle.
Machop is weak to Flying and Psychic. Its move is Karate Chop, which hits an
adjacent enemy, has a raised critical-hit rate, and deals extra damage to Rock,
Ice, Steel, and Normal. Its ability is Guts, which raises its Attack when under
a status effect.
Larvitar is weak to Grass (4x), Water (4x), Steel, Ice, and Ground, and is
immune to Electric. Its move is Rock Tomb, which hits a target two tiles away,
may reduce Range, and inflicts extra damage to Flying, Ice, and Fire. Its
ability is Sandpit, which lets it restore HP while on soil or sand.
Onix is also weak to Grass (4x), Water (4x), Steel, Ice, and Ground, and is
immune to Electric. Its move is Rock Tomb, which hits a target two tiles away,
may reduce Range, and inflicts extra damage to Flying, Ice, and Fire. Its
ability is Jagged Edge, which inflict damage on those who hit it with a contact
move.
Roggenrola is weak to Water, Steel, Ground, Fighting, and Grass. Its move is
Rock Blast, which hits a tile two tiles away two to five times, and deals extra
damage to Fire, Ice, and Flying. Its ability is Bodyguard, which allows it to
take damage for adjacent allies.
Okay, let's begin. You'll first want to get a low-Range Pokmon and put it on
the nearby switch to open up the pathway, then get everyone out of that
enclosed area so the true fight can begin.
You'll want to send half out the left door and half out the right one. You
want your Water-type(s) for sure to head out the left door, and everyone else
out the right door. If you cannot put three Water Pokmon out, you'll want to
send Eevee or Jigglypuff in their place, not a Grass-type. Grass-types need to
be on the right.
So, how to do this? Well, you won't be able to recruit anyone after this fight;
at least, I couldn't. I know I beat three guys in less than three turns, and
the others with Vine Whip. So, all-out offense.
Also ALWAYS take note of the boulders on the field. Hit one with an attack and
it will roll downhill (towards the place where you started out). This can deal
out some pretty nasty damage.
~~~

So, congrats, you've gotten one of Nobunaga's kingdoms.

After beating up Cragspur, Keiji will come by, noticing that you've
transformed. And then, you'll love this, he gives you three of the elemental
stones: Fire Stone, Thunderstone, and Water Stone! If you go into battle after
handing a Pokmon one of these, you'll end up having an evolved Pokmon!

So, what do you want? Using them on Eevee can yield Flareon (Fire), Jolteon
(Electric), and Vaporeon (Water), respectively. Other Pokmon, though, can use
them as well: Vulpix with the Fire Stone can become a Ninetales, Pikachu with
the Thunderstone becomes Raichu, and Panpour becomes Simipour. And that is just
a few of them! They work like in the mainstream games, so go off that knowledge
if you want, or look up one of the FAQs for Pokmon Black/White (1 or 2).

Pick carefully, though. All evolutions are not impossible to de-evolve; what
you get, you get stuck with. Personally, I put the Thunderstone on Eevee, the
Fire Stone on a Pansear I like, and the Water Stone on a Panpour I liked. Do as
you wish, though.

So, before we go for the next kingdom, time to do some recruiting. By the by, I
am at September, Year 3, so this may vary. I decided just to settle, because we
will have a Dark kingdom in a few moments. Begin with the Park in Cragspur.

O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:               |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Skorupi (Poison/Bug)         |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |
|  -- Aron (Rock/Steel)            |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
|  -- Roggenrola (Rock)            |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O

Skorupi is weak to Flying, Fire, Rock, and Psychic. Its move is Poison Jab,
which hits an adjacent enemy, may induce poisoning, and deals extra damage to
Grass. Its ability is Battle Armor, preventing critical hits.

Aron is weak to Fighting (4x), Ground (4x), and Water. It is immune to Poison.
Its move is Metal Claw, which hits an adjacent enemy, may up the user's Attack,
and does extra damage to Ice and Rock. Its ability is Sturdy, preventing
one-hit KO attacks.

Roggenrola is weak to Water, Steel, Ground, Fighting, and Grass. Its move is
Rock Blast, which hits a tile two tiles away two to five times, and deals extra
damage to Fire, Ice, and Flying. Its ability is Bodyguard, which allows it to
take damage for adjacent allies.

You'll definitely want to go for Skorupi first. It may not provide a Bug move
to work weaknesses off of, but that Battle Armor is a huge bonus. Aron is also
a nice link, so consider that, especially because its move hurts Ice, a type
we've yet to fight in a kingdom.

~~~
Okay, next month (October, Year 3 for me). You can find few decent Warriors at
the Floating Rock of Illusio, so head there.
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:               |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Cubchoo is weak to Rock, Steel, Fighting, and Fire. Its move is Powder Snow,
which hits the two tiles in front of it, may freeze the target, and deals extra
damage to Flying, Ground, and Dragon. Its Stealth ability lets it more easily
evade on favorable terrain.
Joltik is weak to Fire and Rock. Its move is Electro Ball, which hits a tile
two tiles in front of it, and deals more damage to fast targets, Flying, and
Water. Its ability, Compoundeyes, boosts accuracy.
Ekans is weak to Ground and Psychic. Its move is Poison Sting, which hits the
two tiles it's facing, may poison, and deals more damage to Grass. Its ability,
Intimidate, lowers nearby enemies' Attack.
Ralts is weak to Dark, Ghost, and Bug. Its attack is Confusion, which hits
three tiles away, may cause confusion, and deals more damage to Fighting and
Poison. Its ability, Instinct, lets it evade more easily.
Gothita is weak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark. Its attack is Confusion, which hits
three tiles away, may cause confusion, and deals more damage to Fighting and
Poison. Its ability, Instinct, lets it evade more easily.
Well, Cubchoo will be a big bounty for you. Don't let its cute appearance fool
you: Ice-type Pokmon are some of the best, for only they and Dragons have an
advantage over Dragons, easily the strongest Pokmon in the game. Joltik is
also a good choice, given its few weaknesses. Ekans, bleh. Ralts and Gothita
may make nice links, though Fighting and Poison are typically not types you
should be worried about. Gang up on the ones you want.
~~~

Well, beyond that, I didn't many other useful recruitments. Take want you want
out of the remaining pool (during November of Year 3):

-- At the Chrysalia Ravine, an Ekans Warrior.
-- At the Violight Sky Garden, an Anorith Warrior.
-- At the Fontaine Ravine, an unknown-special-condition Gurdurr Warrior.
-- At the Terrera Farm, an unknown-special-condition Kirlia Warrior.

Well, I guess that is it. It is time to head for another kingdom; I'm choosing
Avia. So, who to bring?

Any Electric types are a huge bounty: their Electric moves deal double damage,
but they resist Flying moves! This same idea will also apply to Pokmon of the
Rock-type, so consider them. I would suggest bringing along three or four.
Since there is a Carnivine to fight as well, I would prefer bringing along Ice
Pokmon, for their advantage over Flying as well. Rock Pokmon also make a
nice one, and Rock/Steel Pokmon take one-fourth of the damage from Flying.

For reference, I brought along Jolteon, Jigglypuff, Cubchoo, Rhyperior,
Charmeleon, Pikachu, and Aron. It's not the best party, but we haven't exactly
found that many Ice-, Electric-, or Rock-types on my playthrough. They still
work pretty good, though. March all six over to Illusio and invade Avia.

|  -- Rufflet (Normal/Flying) |                                               |
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------------O

Braviary is weak to Ice, Rock, and Electric, and immune to Ground and Ghost.
Its move, Sky Drop, lets it fly up one turn, then attack on the next, dealing
extra damage to Fighting, Grass, and Bug Pokmon. Its ability, Keen Eye,
prevents lowering of accuracy.

Starly is weak to Ice, Rock, and Electric, and immune to Ground and Ghost.
Its move, Quick Attack, hits an adjacent enemy, but lacks super-effective
effects. Its ability, Keen Eye, prevents accuracy loss.

Staravia is weak to Ice, Rock, and Electric, and immune to Ground and Ghost.
Its move, Wing Attack, deals extra damage to Bug, Grass, and Fighting. Its
ability, Hero, raises its Attack and Defense when the army is about to lose.

Golbat is weak to Ice, Rock, Electric, and Psychic, and is immune to Ground.
Its move, Poison Fang, attacks an adjacent enemy, may badly poison, and deals
extra damage to Grass. Its ability, Interference, lowers nearby enemies'
accuracy.

Rufflet is weak to Ice, Rock, and Electric, and immune to Ground and Ghost.
Its move, Wing Attack, deals extra damage to Bug, Grass, and Fighting. Its
ability, Keen Eye, prevents accuracy loss.

So, what to do here? Well, you probably already know from previous grinding for
recruits, but that arrow ramp will jump you across the gap if you stand on it
at the end of the turn. This battle will easily get complicated, so strategies
are very tough to make. I can really just say to heal when needed and abuse
weaknesses. And never leave a Pokmon alone unless it is of the Rock/Steel
type. Recruits from here are not allowed, so deal with it and just fight
without letting up (unless it is to heal or move around).

So, now we have eleven of seventeen kingdoms. Sweet.

The month after the fight versus Avia, your partner will come up, claiming
Jigglypuff's been acting odd since the fight versus Nobunaga began. Just now,
she hands over the Jigglypuff Charm Jigglypuff gave her. This item will prevent
all status ailments when equipped on one of Oichi's Pokmon; it has no effect
for anyone else.

So, in December of Year 3, I decided to go shopping for once. Do what you want.

In January of Year 4, Nobunaga will attack Cragspur. The battle varies too
greatly depending on who invades and, if no one is there, then it'll be taken
over. Defend your kingdom!

Our recruitment search will be in February, Year 4. There is a nice fight in
the Avia Sky Garden.

O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:               |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Axew (Dragon)                |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |

|  -- Starly (Normal/Flying)       |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O

Axew is weak to Ice and Dragon. Its move is Dragon Rage, which hits up to two
tiles away and deals 40 damage, always. Its ability, Instincit, raises its
evasion.

Starly is weak to Ice, Rock, and Electric, and immune to Ground and Ghost.
Its move, Quick Attack, hits an adjacent enemy, but lacks super-effective
effects. Its ability, Keen Eye, prevents accuracy loss.

Definitely head straight for Axew. No exceptions; that's the main reason why
we're here for the recruiting. Machop is okay, but save him for the end.

~~~
Next month, there isn't a whole lot of good choices. I'll just list them. Do
what you want, but I'm not going to cover what really doesn't need it.
-- The Cragspur Cave has Beedrill, (special) Kirlia, and Riolu Warriors.
-- The Illusio Floating Rock has a Starly Warrior.
-- The Chrysalia Ravine has (special) Tepig, Magikarp, and Anorith Warriors.
-- The Violight Sky Garden has Igglybuff and Ekans Warriors.
-- The Greenleaf Ravine has Machop and (special) Gurdurr Warriors.
-- The Aurora Farm has Machop and Charmander Warriors.
-- The Ignis Cave has Chingling, Treecko, and Ekans Warriors.
-- The Pugilis Park has a special Cubchoo Warrior (why it's not worth it).
As I said, do as you wish. Most of these aren't exactly worth it, due to having
specials that I can't grab, or just useless ones (to me). Anywho, we're going
to fight Viperia next.
They specialize in the Poison type. Therefore, you'll want to bring a fair few
Psychic or Ground users. Note that there is a Fire-type, so I'd focus moreso on
Ground. Spiritomb is also here: it has no weaknesses, so note that.
For reference, I brought along Jolteon, Jigglypuff, Gallade, two Quagsires, and
Drilbur.
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Nobunaga's Army    |  Turns: 15                                    |
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:          |  Win/Lose Conditions:                         |
|  -- Golbat (Poison/Flying)  |  -- Win by claiming all three of the banners. |
|  -- Monferno (Fire/Fighting)|  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.        |
|  -- Spiritomb (Dark/Ghost)  |  -- Lose if the enemy claims all banners.     |
|  -- Zubat (Poison/Flying)   |                                               |
|  -- Arbok (Poison)          |                                               |
|  -- Ekans (Poison)          |                                               |
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------------O
Golbat is weak to Psychic, Ice, Rock, and Electric, and is immune to Ground.
Its move is Poison Fang: it attacks an adjacent enemy, may badly poison, and
deals extra damage to Grass. Its ability, Inner Focus, stops flinches.
Monferno is Hideyoshi's Pokmon evolved from when we beat him way back. It is
weak to Water, Ground, Flying, and Psychic. Its move is Flame Wheel, which
attacks two tiles away, may burn, and does extra damage to Grass, Bug, Ice,
and Steel. Its ability, Blaze, raises its Attack when its HP is low.
Spiritomb lacks weaknesses and is immune to Normal, Fighting, and Psychic. Its
move, Shadow Sneak, attacks an adjacent enemy and does extra damage to Ghost
and Psychic. Its ability, Interference, lowers nearby enemies' accuracy.
Zubat is weak to Psychic, Ice, Rock, and Electric, and is immune to Ground. Its
move is Wing Attack, which hits an adjacent enemy and does extra damage to Bug,
Fighting, and Grass. Its ability, Melee, will let it hit adjacent enemies in
the heat of battle.
Arbok is weak to Psychic and Ground. Its move is Venoshock, which hits the tile
two tiles away and the ones to the left of right of there; it deals double
damage whilst poisoned, and deals extra damage to Grass. Its ability,
Intimidate, will lower nearby enemies' Attack.
Ekans is weak to Psychic and Ground. Its move is Poison Sting, which can hit up
to two tiles away, may poison, and deals extra damage to Grass. Its ability is
Shed Skin, which will allow it to cure a status over time.
So, you have to claim some banners. There is a set path for you to go on: to
the eastern room, the central one, then the western one for all of the banners.
You should let your high-Range characters to the west, your low ones go to the
eastern one, and all else need to hit the center. I would avoid the secret
passages on the field if possible, and also fight enemies when possible. It is
easier when the enemies are gone, no?
Also about the secret passages: their paths are set. Therefore, you may find
some to be to your advantage. I'd avoid them unless I knew where they'd take
me. That one in the starting room seems to be good for low-Range Pokmon. As
your enemy may end up piling up as they leave the northern room, you'll want
to beware of attacks from behind.
And also be careful of the purplish water: it will induce the Poison status
on whoever steps on it if they're not of the Poison or Steel types.
And, as usual, you won't be able to recruit anyone.
~~~

Woo, yeah, another kingdom.

So, of the four of Nobunaga's kingdoms we originally were offered, one remains.
Yaksha, the Dark kingdom, is probably going to be the hardest one if you have
not done any kind of recruiting for Fighters or Bugs.

So, for me, it is April of Year 4. Currently available recruitments are not
very promising, except perhaps one in the Violight Sky Garden.

O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O

Ekans is weak to Psychic and Ground. Its move is Poison Sting, which can hit up
to two tiles away, may poison, and deals extra damage to Grass. Its ability is
Intimidate, which weakens nearby enemies' Attack.

Shinx is weak to Ground. Its move is Spark, which hits an adjacent tile, and
deals extra damage to Flying and Water. It has the Intimidate ability, which
will lower nearby enemies' Attack.

You'll first want to go for Machop. That's the only reason why we're even here:
to gather Fighting types. Ekans is not special and Shinx may make a good link,
though it has no use in the foreseeable future. Gang up on Machop.

~~~
After dealing with an enemy invasion, we'll restart recruitment on June of
Year 4. Options aren't exactly desirable. I'll just list them and let you go
for whoever you want; I'll note that I didn't go for any of these.
-- In Aurora's Farm, you'll find Treecko and Ekans.
-- In Ignis's Cave, you'll find Bidoof.
-- In Fontaine's Ravine, you'll find Venipede and Chingling.
-- In Violight's Sky Garden, you'll find Beedrill.
-- In Greenleaf's Ravine, you'll find Machop. We should have plenty by now.
-- In Pugilis, you'll find a special Shinx.
-- In Terrera, you'll find a special Pineco.
-- In Illusio, you'll find Riolu.
-- In Chrysalia, you'll find Scraggy, Anorith, and Igglybuff.
-- In Cragspur, you'll find (special) Kirlia and a Tepig.
Again, do as you wish. That Machop may or may not be tempting; do it if you
want.
So, once you're ready, you should prepare for the invasion of Yaksha, the
Dark kingdom. The Dark type is weak to Fighting and Bug, and is immune to
Psychic. Who do you want to bring?
Well, Fighting-types are preferred for this, because of the potential to abuse
double-weaknesses. An Electric type will help out with one of the Pokmon and
a Grass/Water type is good for another one.
So, my party ended up being Jolteon, Jigglypuff, two Machops, Carnivine, and
Scyther.
O-----------------------------O-----------------------------------------------O
Zoroark is weak to Fighting and Bug, and immune to Psychic. Its move is Night
Daze, which hits all adjacent tiles, may lower target accuracy, and does extra
damage to Psychic and Ghost. Its ability, Pride, raises Attack and Defense when
under the effect of a status ailment.
Krokorok is weak to Grass, Water, Ice, and Bug, and immune to Psychic and
Electric. Its move is Bite, which hits an adjacent enemy, may cause flinching,
and does extra damage to Psychic and Ghost. Its ability, Moxie, raises its
Attack for one turn after beating an enemy.
Pawniard is weak to Fighting (4x), Fire, and Ground, and is immune to Psychic
and Poison. Its move is Assurance, which hits an adjacent enemy, doubles in
power if the target has already taken damage, and does extra damage to Ghost
and Psychic. Its ability is Parry, letting it block some contact attacks.
Scrafty is weak to Fighting and Flying, and is immune to Psychic. Its move is
Hi-Jump Kick, which will hit an enemy two tiles away, damages the user if the
attack misses, and does extra damage to Ice, Rock, Steel, and Normal. Its
ability is Shed Skin, which lets it heal its own status ailments.
Zubat is weak to Psychic, Ice, Rock, and Electric, and is immune to Ground. Its
move is Wing Attack, which hits an adjacent enemy and does extra damage to Bug,
Fighting, and Grass. Its ability, Melee, will let it hit adjacent enemies in
the heat of battle.
Scraggy is weak to Fighting and Flying, and is immune to Psychic. Its move is
Faint Attack, which hits an adjacent enemy without failing, and will do
super-effective damage to the Ghost and Psychic types. Its ability is Shed
Skin, which lets it heal its own status ailments.
There's not a whole lot at all to mention about this fight. You'll just pretty
much have to try and not get attacked by a bunch of enemies at once, which
won't often happen in a six-on-six. Also try to avoid the Pokmon who have
immunities to your moves -- Jolteon should avoid Krokorok, for example.
And thusly, another kingdom goes down. Only four more left!
 #############################################################################
So then, we've finally claimed exactly half of Nobunaga's kingdoms. It seems
like his plan to destroy Ransei is falling apart.
After having conquered the southern four of Nobunaga's kingdoms, the last of
which we chose to do being Yaksha, a man named Mitsuhide will come to you with
his Lapras. He has decided to tell you that, despite having been not beaten,
your efforts are futile. It soon revealed that Mitsuhide is one of the
Nobunaga's closest advisors, so I think we can disregard his comments. But it
is also apparent that Nobunaga's strongest men guard the remaining three
kingdoms Nobunaga has...
Three? I'm confused, but the game says seventeen exist. We have conquered
exactly thirteen. 13 + 3 = 16, 16 < 17. Basic math. Oh, forget it.
So, three kingdoms: Valora, the Steel specialists; Spectra, the ghastly Ghost
users; and Nixtorm, the frosty Ice users. (See, we're even forgetting the
Dragon-type!) So, which first? The two we can reach are Valora and Spectra.
Steel, despite resisting eleven types, also has some weaknesses. These
weaknesses are ones we have often used before: Ground, Fire, and Fighting.
I would still want to look for some recruits, though, so we'll begin there.
When I started this list, we're assuming that it is July of Year 4. The best
shot would be the Ravine in Greenleaf.
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Machop is weak to Flying and Psychic. Its move is Karate Chop, which hits an
adjacent enemy, has a raised critical-hit rate, and deals extra damage to Rock,
Ice, Steel, and Normal. Its ability is Guts, which raises its Attack when under
a status effect.
Chingling is weak to Ghost, Dark, and Bug. Its move is Confusion, which hits a
tile three tiles away, may cause confusion, and will deal extra damage to
Poison and Fighting. Its ability, Levitate, immunizes it from Ground moves.
Gurdurr is weak to Flying and Psychic. Its move is Wake-Up Slap, which hits an
adjacent enemy, and does greater damage to Sleeping targets, Rock, Ice, Steel,
and Normal. Its ability is Thrust, letting it push back enemies with attacks.
Treecko is weak to Fire, Ice, Bug, Poison, and Flying. Its move is Absorb,
which takes HP from the enemy, and deals extra damage to Water, Ground, and
Rock. Its ability is Overgrow, raising its Attack when its HP is low.
Here, you'll want to focus on Machop. I know, you'd prefer Gurdurr, but it is
one of those special Pokmon that you can't recruit without meeting certain,
unknown condition. Machop is key in two of the next kingdom fights. Treecko may
be a nice link, Pokmon. So first gang up on Machop, then do as you will.
~~~

So, what's good come August (Year 4)? Well, there's quite a few Pokmon in
Cragspur's Park, one being a Tepig just under the power of the special Pokmon,
so I recommend going there.

O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:               |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Tepig (Fire)                 |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |
|  -- Aron (Rock/Steel)            |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
|  -- Aron (Rock/Steel)            |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O

Tepig is weak to Rock, Ground, and Water. Its move, Ember, will hit a target
two tiles away. It deals super-effective damage to Fire, Ice, Bug, and Steel.
Like all Fire-type starter Pokmon, it has the Blaze ability, which will raise
its Attack once its HP is low.

So, what do you want to do here? That Tepig is a decently-powerful recruit,
and will aide greatly in two of the to-be kingdom fights. Aron is not so much
a Pokmon you want, though linking with them will help versus Nixtorm, so I
recommend linking with them. So, in short, gang up on Tepig and win in less
than four turns -- should be easy -- and link with Arons.

~~~
And on September of Year 4, I find recruitments to be not as good. Pick who you
want, I guess. I won't cover these, as usual, because I don't see them to be
worth it.
-- In Aurora, you'll find a (special) Gurdurr and a Beedrill Warrior.
-- In Ignis, you'll find a Magikarp Warrior.
-- In Fontaine, you'll find a Ralts Warrior.
-- In Pugilis, you find special Shinx and Pineco Warriors.
-- In Avia, you find Gible (knowing Dragon Rage), Abra, and Cottonee Warriors.
-- In Chrysalia, you find an Anorith Warrior.
-- In Cragspur, you find a special Cubchoo Warrior and a normal Joltik user.
-- In Yaksha, you find a Beedrill Warrior.
Again, I bet you noticed that Gible up there. It uses Dragon Rage, which always
does 40 damage. You need Pokmon better than that, so it isn't worth it.
Once you're done, let's prepare our team for Valora, the Steel specialists.
Steel is weak to Fire, Fighting, and Ground; immune to Poison; takes regular
damage from Water and Electric; and resists all else. Therefore, we need a
decent team.
Lesse... There are three Rock/Steel types there: you'll want to bring Fighting
or Ground Pokmon for them. You'll want one Grass Pokmon for a Quagsire, one
Fire-type for a Metagross, and a sixth, decent Pokmon -- i.e. Electric -- to
finish off a Chimecho.
So who'd I bring? Jolteon, Carnivine, two Machokes, Tepig, and a Machop. Yep,
I finally found a decent link for my partner! ^_^
O------------------------------O----------------------------------------------O
Aggron is weak to Fighting (4x), Ground (4x), and Water. It's immune to Poison.
Its move is Iron Tail, which hits the three tiles it is facing, pushes the
targets back, and does extra damage to Ice and Rock. Its ability is Sturdy,
preventing one-hit KO attacks.
Metagross is weak to Fire and Ground, and is immune to Poison. Its move is its
trademark Meteor Mash, hitting an adjacent enemy, pushing them back. It may
raise the user's Attack, and does extra damage to Ice and Rock. Its ability,
Bodyguard, may let it take damage for adjacent allies.
Quagsire is weak to Grass (4x), and is immune to Electric. Its move is Mud
Bomb, which hits an enemy two tiles away, may lower accuracy, and does extra
damage to Electric, Rock, Steel, and Fire. Its ability, Shackles, will lower
the Range of enemies its attack hits.
Aron is weak to Fighting (4x), Ground (4x), and Water. It is immune to Poison.
Its move is Metal Claw, which hits an adjacent enemy, may up the user's Attack,
and does extra damage to Ice and Rock. Its ability is Bodyguard, which will
let it take damage for adjacent allies.
Chimecho is weak to Dark, Ghost, and Bug. Its move is Psyshock, which hits a
target two tiles away with physical damage, and will do extra damage to
Fighting and Psychic. Its ability, Levitate, will immunize it from Ground
moves.
This field is one of the toughest you'll play. Let's begin with those cogs.
They will raise and lower the nearest fences. The lowered ones are easily
crossable, whereas those that are raised cannot be passed.
The other object of note are the cameras. They will move around the field. If
you land next to one, or vice versa, it will move you somewhere else. This
makes it very frustrating to make a strategy, because you never know when
they'll move or where they'll move you. So all I can say is that you'll want to
abuse weaknesses whenever possible and have Pokmon follow the target enemy
Pokmon that satisfies that.
And you can always consider a positional strategy. For example, you know those
four-tile greenish landmasses? I got caught in a six-on-one with just Jolteon
on the north-central one and, because of the computer's lack of thinking ahead,
I was able to blast out Metagross, Aggron, two Arons, and Chimecho, all with
just Jolteon, because one Pokmon (Chimecho) got in the way of everyone from
coming in, and everyone else couldn't attack at a range.
With enough work, you'll finally have another kingdom!
 ##                                                                         ##
 #############################################################################
Our next destination is Nixtorm, by far the easiest of the seventeen kingdoms.
This is because Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Steel all have an advantage over
Ice, which is a wide variety of mostly-commong types. Secondly, there is a
small variety in that kingdom's types: Water/Ice, Ice, and Psychic. That's it.
But, first, recruitment! It is now December, Year 5, for me. There is a
Misdreavus Warrior in Viperia's Park; let's go there.
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:               |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Misdreavus (Ghost)           |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |
|  -- Ekans (Poison)               |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
|  -- Ghastly (Ghost/Poison)       |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
Misdreavus is weak to Ghost and Dark, and is immune to Normal and Fighting. Its
move is Astonish, which hits an adjacent target and pushes them back, may cause
flinching, and does extra damage to Ghost and Psychic. Its ability, Levitate,
also will immunize it to Ground.
Ekans is weak to Psychic and Ground. Its move is Poison Sting, which can hit up
to two tiles away, may poison, and deals extra damage to Grass. Its ability is
Intimidate, which weakens nearby enemies' Attack.
Ghastly is weak to Ghost, Dark, and Psychic, and is immune to Normal, Fighting,
and Ground (via the Levitate ability). Its move is Lick, which hits an adjacent
enemy, may cause flinching, and deals extra damage to Ghost and Psychic. As I
said earlier, its ability is Levitate.
Definitely go ahead and gang up on Misdreavus first; all in all, this Pokmon
will be a key fighter in Spectra. As will Ghastly, in fact, so let someone link
with him. Ekans - bleh, KO it and move on.
~~~

After this fight, I had to deal with an invasion from Spectra, and I had left
Valora empty.

So, we'll resume recruitment on February of Year 5. Most of the available ones
are ones we have already, have better ones of, or just don't need. I'll go
ahead and list them, but there's no need to worry about recruiting any of these
if you don't wanna; I'm not going to deal with them, in FAQ or game.

-- Tepig and Ekans Warriors are in Aurora.
-- A special Shinx Warrior is in Fontaine.
-- A special Gurdurr, Treecko, and Venipede Warriors are in Violight.
-- Charmander and Beedrill Warriors are in Greenleaf.
-- Gible (using Dragon Rage) and Beedrill Warriors are in Terrera.
-- Anorith and Onix Warriors are in Avia.
-- Dratini (using Dragon Rage) is in Illusio.
-- Riolu, Magikarp, and Joltik Warriors are in Yaksha.
-- Abra is in Valora.

As before, I normally would recommend Gible and Dratini to you: they make great
Dragon-type Pokmon after some evolutions. But Dragon Rage only deals 40 damage
and is not worth it. Charmander is one of those we already have more than a few
of, so it's not entirely worth it. Do as you will, however.

I'll continue to the next kingdom. So, Nixtorm is a kingdom full of frosty
Ice-types. Ice is weak to Rock, Steel, Fighting, and Fire. Given the Pokmon
that will be in this battle against you, I recommend the two Ghosts from
before (or Bug Pokmon), two strong Fire/Fighting/Steel/Rock Pokmon, and then
two strong Electric/Fighting Pokmon.

Who'd I bring? Jolteon, Misdreavus, Ghastly, Emboar, and two Machokes.

|  -- Munna (Psychic)          |                                              |
O------------------------------O----------------------------------------------O

Lapras is weak to Grass, Electric, Rock, and Fighting. Its move is Ice Beam,
which hit the three tiles it is facing, may freeze the target, and does extra
damage to Ground, Flying, and Grass. Its ability, Shell Armor, stops critical
hits.

Musharna is weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost. Its move is Dream Eater, which hits a
sleeping target to absorb HP, and does extra damage to Fighting and Poison. Its
ability, Calming, may let nearby enemies fall asleep.

Sealeo is weak to Rock, Electric, Fighting, and Grass. Its move is Ice Ball,
which hits a target two tiles away multiple times, becoming stronger each time,
and will deal extra damage to Flying, Grass, and Ground. Its ability, Skater,
will increase its Range on icy terrain.

Beartic is weak to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Ground. Its move is Icicle Crash,
which hits a target two tiles away, may cause flinching, and deals extra damage
to Ground, Grass, and Flying. Its ability, Tenacity, may induce flinching when
this Pokmon is hit with a contact move.

Cubchoo is weak to Fire, Fighting, Rock, and Ground. Its move is Powder Snow,
which hits the two tiles in front of it, may freeze the target, and deals extra
damage to Flying, Ground, and Grass. Its ability, Stealth, raises its evasion
when on favorable terrain.

Munna is weak to Bug, Dark, and Ghost. Its move is Hypnosis, which induces
the Sleep status. Its ability, Deep Sleep, will increase its HP while the
Pokmon is asleep.

So, what first? Well, there's not a lot special about this battlefield. You
will want your Electric/Fighting Pokmon to go for Lapras and Sealeo, your
Ghost/Bug/Dark Pokmon to beat up Munna, then Musharna afterwards, and your
Fire/Fighting/Rock/Steel Pokmon to shatter Cubchoo and Beartic.

I will note that snowy terrain, such as here, will lower your Range. And icy
terrain is like in the mainstream games: step on it and you'll go sliding
until you bump into something or land. You'll also find drifting ice tiles:
they'll carry you to the other side of the small river.

And so, you have conquered fifteen kingdoms! Just one more to go!

So, we some more recruiting to do before we conquer our sixteenth kingdom. On
March of Year 5, I found Sneasel in Valora's Park. Being Dark/Ice, it'll
help us somewhat.

O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Wild/Warriors' Pokmon  |  Turns: 10                              |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:               |  Win/Lose Conditions:                   |
|  -- Sneasel (Dark/Ice)           |  -- Win by beating all enemies.         |
|  -- Anorith (Bug/Rock)           |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.  |
|  -- Sewaddle (Bug/Grass)         |                                         |
|  -- Litwick (Fire/Ghost)         |                                         |
O----------------------------------O-----------------------------------------O

Sneasel is weak to Fighting (4x), Bug, Fire, Rock, and Steel, and is immune to
Psychic. Its move is Faint Attack, which hits an adjacent target without fail,
and does extra damage to Psychic and Ghost. Its ability, Inner Focus, prevents
flinching.

Anorith is weak to Water and Steel. Its move is Fury Cutter, which hits the
three tiles in front of it, and does more damage if used in succession, and
does more damage to Grass, Dark, and Psychic. Its ability, Battle Armor, stops
critical hits.

Sewaddle is weak to Fire (4x), Ice, Bug, Poison, Flying (4x), and Rock. Its
move, Bug Bite, will attack the enemy in front. It does extra damage to Grass,
Psychic, and Dark. This Sewaddle has the Grass Cloak ability, which raises
Defense while on grass terrain.

Litwick is weak to Ghost, Dark, Rock, Ground, and Water. Its move is Ember,
which hits a target two tiles away, may burn, and does extra damage to Steel,
Grass, Bug, and Ice. Its ability, Flame Body, may have contact attackers get
burned.

So, what to do? I would definitely recommend getting Sneasel recruited; its
stats are a bit low, so it may require training. Of course, if you don't want
Sneasel, have somebody link up with Litwick. Do want you're going for first,
then beat the stuffings out of the others.

~~~
The next month -- April, Year 5 -- offers slimmer pickings. Do what you want
with what you get. Here's what I found. As usual, since I find the getting of
them to be a bit pointless, I won't cover the fights in detail.
-- In Aurora, you'll find Bidoof.
-- In Fontaine, you'll find Onix.
-- In Violight, you'll find Aron.
-- In Greenleaf, you'll find a special Tepig and Ekans.
-- In Nixtorm, you'll find Cottonee.
-- In Viperia, you'll find Starly.
-- In Avia, you'll find Ralts.
-- In Illusio, you'll find Onix, Rhyhorn, and Sandile.
-- In Chrysalia, you'll find a special Gurdurr.
-- In Yaksha, you'll find Riolu and Magikarp.
-- In Valora, you'll find Abra.
As before, pick what you want, though none seem to be helpful in oncoming
efforts. I'll cover, then, Spectra.
Spectra is filled with Ghost-type Pokmon, for the most part. Since one is
Bug/Poison, I'd bring a Fire-type. Also, since there is a Ghost/Fire, a good
Water/Ground type. As for the Ghost/Flying, an Electric type should work out
good. Of course, other than these side options, note that Ghost is weak to
Ghost and Dark; immune to Normal and Fighting; and deals no damage to Normal.
Personally, I brought along my trusty Jolteon, Emboar, Quagsire, Haunter,
Jigglypuff (better to have an immunity than resistance), and the Sneasel we
found earlier, but I gave it a few link-boosting items to power it up some.
|  Battle: Nobunaga's Army     |  Turns: 15                                   |
|  -- Misdreavus (Ghost)       |                                              |
O------------------------------O----------------------------------------------O
Mismagius is weak to Dark and Ghost, and is immune to Normal, Fighting, and
Ground (by ability). Its attack is Shadow Ball, which hits a target two tiles
away, may lower Defense, and does extra damage to Ghost and Psychic. Its
ability is Levitate, which immunizes it from Ground.
Scolipede is weak to Fire, Flying, Rock, and Psychic. Its attack is Venoshock,
which hits a tile two tiles away and the two left and right of there, and will
do more damage to poisoned targets and Grass Pokmon. Its ability, Poison
Point, may let contact attackers get poisoned.
Lampent is weak to Ghost, Dark, Rock, Water, and Ground, and is immune to
Normal and Fighting. Its move is Flame Burst, which hits a tile two tiles away
and all diagonally-adjacent tiles, and does extra damage to Ice, Bug, Steel,
and Grass. Its ability, Flame Body, may let it burn contact attackers.
Drifloon is weak to Ghost, Dark, Electric, Rock, and Ice, and is immune to
Normal, Fighting, and Ground. Its move is Astonish, which attacks an adjacent
enemy and pushes them back, may cause flinching, and deals extra damage to
Ghost and Psychic. Its ability, Dodge, may let it evade an attack and then
lower the enemies' stats.
Dusclops is weak to Ghost and Dark, and is immune to Normal and Fighting. Its
move is Shadow Sneak, which hits an adjacent enemy, and deals extra damage to
Ghost and Psychic. Its ability, Interference, may lower nearby enemies'
accuracy.
Misdreavus is weak to Dark and Ghost, and is immune to Normal, Fighting, and
Ground (by ability). Its attack is  Astonish, which will attack an adjacent
enemy and push them back, may cause flinching, and deals extra damage to
Ghost and Psychic. Its ability is Levitate, thereby immunizing it from Ground.
The battle strategy, in itself, is pretty ordinary. Pair your Pokmon up with
the one whose weaknesses it can abuse and attack. Heal as needed, and never
forget Warrior Skills.
The terrain also looks ordinary, but is not so. Firstly, those Misdreavus
statues on the field can move, as can those fireballs. I am quite sure that if
you get hit by one, you'll be damaged. Of course, the fireballs have such a
long Range that you're almost never out of reach, so just keep those healing
items handy. Also, the fireballs will inflict statuses on you.
~~~

Eventually, you'll conquer the sixteenth kingdom, and thereby have conquered
all of Nobunaga's kingdoms. Or so we were told.

 #############################################################################

So, we lack but one kingdom to conquer before the legend of Ransei will be
reborn again. One more fight, versus Nobunaga, and we'll have all of Ransei
under our control!

Dragnor is the kingdom of Dragons, perhaps one of the sturdiest types, and
definitely the most versatile. Their weaknesses are only Ice and Dragon, some
of the harder types to obtain. They also resist Fire, Water, Grass, and
Electric, so no common Pokmon is necessarily able to reign supreme. There are
no Pokmon really worth recruiting to help with this, so I'll ignore that
completely.

So, who did I bring to the battle? I had no choice with Jolteon. Aron came
from my partner, for the resistances. Sealeo, Dragonite, Gabite, and Beartic
were also tossed into the mix.

O------------------------------O----------------------------------------------O
|  Battle: Nobunaga's Army     |  Turns: 15                                   |
O------------------------------O----------------------------------------------O
|  Opponent Pokmon:           |  Win/Lose Conditions:                        |

|  -- Dragonair (Dragon)       |  -- Lose by having your Pokmon KO'ed.       |
|  -- Gabite (Dragon/Ground)   |                                              |
|  -- Simisage (Grass)         |                                              |

|  -- Deino (Dragon/Dark)      |                                              |
O------------------------------O----------------------------------------------O

Zekrom, the legendary dragon, is weak to Dragon, Ice, and Ground. Its move is
Bolt Strike, which hits the target and pushes them back, may paralyze, and does
extra damage to Flying and Water. Its ability, Teravolt, allows Zekrom to use
its move regardless of enemies' abilities.

Dragonair is weak to Dragon and Ice. Its attack is Dragon Tail, which hits the
three tiles it's facing and makes the target switch places with another Pokmon
on the field, and deals extra damage to Dragon. Its ability, Shed Skin, allows
it to heal its own statuses.

Gabite is weak to Ice (4x) and Dragon and is immune to Electric. Its attack is
Dragon Claw, which attacks an adjacent enemy, and deals extra damage to Dragon.
Its ability, Parry, may let it block contact moves.

Simisage is weak to Fire, Ice, Flying, Bug, and Poison. Its move is Leaf Storm,
which hits all tiles around the user, lowers the user's Attack, and will do
extra damage to Ground, Rock, and Water. Its ability, Hero, will raise its
Attack and Defense when its side is about to lose.

Fraxure is weak to Ice and Dragon. Its move is Dragon Claw, which hits an
adjacent enemy and deals extra damage to Dragon. Its ability, Mold Breaker,
will allow it to use moves regardless of enemies' abilities.

Deino is weak to Ice, Dragon, Fighting, and Bug, and is immune to Psychic. Its
move is Dragon Rage, which will inflict 40 damage up to two tiles away. Its
ability is Pride, which raises its Attack and Defense when under the effect of
a status ailment.

Well, how to do this one? The hallway that is the field is rather compact. You
don't want enemies coming all too soon, so march your army forward with the
distance attackers in front, and possibly in the second row as well. I would
prefer to keep Dragon-types out of the front row, but if you have no choice...

Also, you see those pillars on the field? Those are Type Nodes; if a Pokmon
stops next to one, it will be damaged with the proper type, depending on the
type of node. Nobunaga won't actually seem to attack until you get close to
him, trying for an all-out melee, but it is better to bring six to those first
two in his line-up, no?

Speaking of nodes, Revival Nodes are your best buddies - they heal HP. In fact,
as the brawl gets to going, I strongly recommend sticking your party around the
Revival Nodes. They'll heal around 20+ HP per turn. That may not be much in
comparison to some damage you'll receive, but enough Hyper Potions and your
partner's Sweet Song may be able to keep you alive through the fight.

~~~
Congratulations! You have taken control of all seventeen kingdoms of Ransei and
run Nobunaga's army of Ransei!
And so, Nobunaga's ambition has been thwarted. We have conquered all seventeen
kingdoms of Ransei. As we leave Dragnor, lights emanate from all across
the kingdom's, centering at a point over Dragnor.
And so, our final battle is meant to be versus the legendary Pokmon Arceus,
the one said to have been hatched from an Egg prior to all existence, the one
said to have created the universe itself. Arceus is weak to Fighting, resists
none, is immune to Ghost, and takes regular damage from everything else. Its
attack is Judgement, which hits the tiles around Arceus. The attack is also of
the Normal type, inflicting super-effective damage on none and half-damage to
Rock and Steel. Its ability, Omnipotent, allows it to always deal damage,
regardless of type data, and the Pokmon is supposed to have several different
abilities.
As the fight begins, Arceus calls out to you. He wants you to form a link with
him. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU TO EVEN THINK ABOUT DEFEATING IT. This is a
legendary Pokmon; only fools think of ever letting one go.
~~~

After you link with Arceus, Nobunaga comes up, claiming that he can defy even
the legends of yore. And with a new Pokmon, too... And by far my favorite.

Let the battle to end all battles begin!

|  -- Lucario (Fighting/Steel) |                                              |
O------------------------------O----------------------------------------------O

The new Pokmon Nobunaga came with is Rayquaza. And not just any Rayquaza --
the cool, SHINY one that's jet-black. Seriously, you'll probably never find
a legit one ever again. Anywho, it is weak to Ice (4x), Dragon, and Rock. Its
move is Dragon Pulse, which hits the three tiles in front of it, and does extra
damage to Dragon. Its ability, Nomad, raises Attack proportionately to the
distance moved.

Lapras is weak to Grass, Electric, Rock, and Fighting. Its move is Ice Beam,
which hit the three tiles it is facing, may freeze the target, and does extra
damage to Ground, Flying, and Grass. Its ability, Shell Armor, stops critical
hits.

Mismagius is weak to Dark and Ghost, and is immune to Normal, Fighting, and
Ground (by ability). Its attack is Shadow Ball, which hits a target two tiles
away, may lower Defense, and does extra damage to Ghost and Psychic. Its
ability is Levitate, which immunizes it from Ground.

Aggron is weak to Fighting (4x), Ground (4x), and Water. It's immune to Poison.
Its move is Iron Tail, which hits the three tiles it is facing, pushes the
targets back, and does extra damage to Ice and Rock. Its ability is Sturdy,
preventing one-hit KO attacks.

Hideyoshi's still around too, now used his evolve Monferno (Infernape). It is
weak to Water, Ground, Flying, and Psychic. Its move is Fire Spin, which will
hit all tiles surrounding the one two tiles away, but not the tile itself. It
hits four or five times, and does extra damage to Grass, Ice, Bug, and Steel.
Its ability, Blaze, raises its Attack when its HP is low.

Lucario is weak to Fighting, Fire, and Ground, and is immune to Poison. Its
move is Aura Sphere, which hits a tile two tiles away and pushes back the
target, will always hit, and deals extra damage to Ice, Rock, Steel, and
Normal. Its ability, Parry, lets it sometimes block contact attacks.

How will you deal with this onslaught of variety? I sent Arceus far ahead of
everyone with Courage, and then went to the biggest group and hit them with
Judgement. Then I continued that, healing with a Full Restore and my partner's
Sweet Song when needed. I let my other Pokmon, of course, come up for some
battling as well, abusing enemy weaknesses, but never near Arceus.

And trust me, this battle may seem hard, but with a Hyper Potion on Arceus and
his Omnipotent ability, you'll find a lot of ease. It was fun to watch
Rayquaza keep aiming with Dragon Pulse and continually failing. ^_^

~~~
And so, Nobunaga speaks out for why he wanted to destroy the Ransei region...
"Throughout the land, Warriors fought endless battles, driven by the quest for
 the legendary Pokmon. These conflicts continued for years. And more and more
 Warriors began to treat their Pokmon -- their partners -- as little more than
 tools. Many Warriors lost the ability to feel love for their Pokmon. It was
 for this reason that Nobunaga sought to unite Ransei. If he could prove to all
 that he was the most powerful Warrior in Ransei, then perhaps all the fighting
 would stop."
Nobunaga feels that the story of the legendary Pokmon is just that - a legend,
and nothing more. Or so he thought. The legendary Pokmon *does* exist, and,
for this reason, the fighting will perpetuate. The only solution he knows is to
destroy Arceus.
And yet, he has felt a change of heart in meeting you, noticing how you still
loved your Pokmon as friends and partners, and not tools like the others.
Arceus then speaks. He acknowledges your love and caring for Ransei, and leaves
it to be handled by you. And you? You, being still young, is why you'll never
see Arceus again until you are worthy of him.
Eventually, the seventeen kingdoms were returned to their original holders at
your journey's start. The leaders agreed to draw up some rules dictating how
Pokmon in Ransei should be treated.
And so, peace has returned to Ransei, just as you and Nobunaga both desired...
Well, after all of the Pokmon games having post-credits stuff to do, you
should have expected this to come! After beating Nobunaga and watching the
credits roll, you'll have many stories about the other characters to deal
with. Some will unlock as you progress through the ones currently there; there
are thirty-three in all, though a few are the same ones just from a different
perspective.
Great. More for me to write.
There are literally hundreds of hours of entertainment contained within the
side stories alone, mainly because of the sheer number, but also because of
the sheer length. As well as the fact that you can't play them all immediately.
You'll have to unlock some by playing others.
Here, I've listed the unlocking conditions of which I know. This list is not
yet complete because ... well, do you really think I can trudge through three
effective replays in less than a week after the game is released!? I would
greatly appreciate any help you could give!
Anywho, here is how the stories are unlocked:
-- Happily Ever After (Hideyoshi)           : Beat the main storyline.
-- The Burden of Peace (Ieyasu)             : Beat the main storyline.
-- The Way of the Warrior (Yukimura)        : Beat the main storyline.
-- The Joy of Battle (Kenshin)              : Beat the main storyline.
"Hideyoshi has great dreams for the future. Luckily for him, he has the two
 visionaries Hanbei and Kanbei at his side..."
We begin in the kingdom of Ignis. There, Hideyoshi is pondering a world filled
with people that could communicate with Pokemon; not just Warriors, but all
people. After being denied by Kanbei, he thinks of conquering all seventeen
kingdoms to summon the legendary Pokemon...
Now, that is NOT a joke. You will effectively have to replay the whole game
again and conquer all seventeen kingdoms. So, yeah, crap.
Now, the more painful thing is this. The other Warlords are more likely to
invade other Warlords. For example, Valora is known be Steel-typed, correct?
Well, after Nobunaga conquered it, I say Scyther, Roggenrola, Cubchoo, and so
on versus what was there earlier. ANY walkthrough ANYONE makes for this story
is untrustworthy.
So you'll be forced to rely on your own smarts for this one. Early on, it can
almost be guaranteed you'll fight the natural enemies. But, by the time you
start hitting kingdoms eight and nine, you'll be likely fighting very different
Pokemon than before.
Go by your own smarts, and learn to check each area each month for decent
recruitment options. Good luck.
On a side note, I will let you know that, given your initial condition, your
first best bets are Greenleaf, then Aurora, then Fontaine after recruiting some
Grass Pokemon from Greenleaf.
 ##                                                                         ##
"With high hopes placed on him by his faithful allies, Ieyasu sets out to
 collect as many Pokmon as he can..."
After you conquered Ransei and returned the kingdoms to their Warlords, there
was some talking in Valora. Ieyasu speaks eagerly on the peace of Ransei,
thinking there is nothing left to desire.
Tadakatsu disagrees with him. He believes there is but one more thing left -
Pokemon partners. Is that not a Warrior's goal: to be with friends with as
many Pokemon as possible? Ieyasu decides to aim for one hundred Pokemon as his
partner, then. And claims it reasonable.
So, how will THIS one work? You can pretty much just recruit Warriors and link
with Pokemon wherever you want. You have no need to conquer a kingdom, but it
will be immensely helpful. Especially assuming you crazily go for all seventeen
like you've done once or twice past, you can just spread Warriors across all
the kingdoms and set most to delegate for searching.
But, yeah, such a walkthrough here would be needless, pointless, and a waste of
space. You know how to link with Pokemon; you know how to locate them. The only
thing walkthrough-worthy would be kingdom fights, but, as the previous story
is, Warlords will invade each other and scramble everything up.
But, yes, you'll have to link up with 100 Pokemon. This includes the Warriors
in your army. So, in effect, you can just go ahead and link during recruit
battles or something. But, given the size of the menu markers, I'd say someone
can only recruit up to six or eight Pokemon. You'll need to have 13 ~ 17 or
more Warriors for that, which requires three or more kingdoms. So, yes, you
will have to conquer a few kingdoms.
Initially, at the start, you'll want to conquer Nixtorm, then get some Ice
Pokemon from there and beat up Dragnor and Avia. That'll get you started
pretty well.
Again, recruit 100 Pokemon. All Pokemon owned across the army count. Good luck.
"Yukimura has been appointed Warlord in Shingen's stead. Can he live up to the
 pressure and do his lord proud...?"
Once, long ago, it was decided in Ransei that there was to be a test carried
out to determine the junior Warriors' of each kingdom's strength. This test
would have a Warrior from each kingdom get a random castle and demonstrate
their skills on the battlefield. The Warlords were not allowed to help.
The time for the test has come again. Shingen told the Warlord gathering that
Yukimura is the best there is, that he should take this test.
And guess what? This is basically another version of Hideyoshi's storyline.
Man, Nintendo's loving you to do this. Just this one, the main play, and
Hideyoshi's line can take about sixty hours total!
And, as ironic as it seems, I can't help you here. As the test dictates, you
will receive a kingdom at random. You'll have to conquer all seventeen of the
kingdoms. All you can do is learn Pokemon weaknesses and strategy, learn to
search for good recruits, and so on. Good luck!
"The tale of two rivals, among the greatest Warriors in all of Ransei, and the
 one person who anticipated their showdown more eagerly than any other..."
For a long time, the seventeen Ranseian kingdoms were divided by two Warlords
before you and Nobunaga. These Warriors were Shingen -- the modern master of
Terrera -- and Kenshin -- the modern master of Illusio.
After some time, the two rivals decided that it was indeed too small a
kingdom for two to hold power. Shingen names the challenge: the first to win
five battles versus the other's kingdoms shall be named the winner.
Obviously, any walkthrough for this would be balancing on the head of a pin;
if you lose one fight, everything will just go off-kilter and the guide will
become useless from that point onwards. It cannot be expected for one to guide
you perfectly through this; I won't even bother trying. As usual, learn
weaknesses and examine your kingdom for good Pokemon to use in the next battle,
be they recruits or otherwise.
Good luck!
"Ginchiyo, famous for her hating defeat like no other, has a chance to be
 crowned Ransei's 'Greatest Beauty'..."
In central Ransei, the female Warlords had become famous for their beauty, so
famous, in fact, that a contest was to be held to find out who was the fairest
of them all.
Ginchiyo, the Warlord of Violight, is not happy about entering the contest, but
also hates to admit defeat. Ginchiyo commands Muneshige, her second-in-command,
to have no part in the battles to come as a result of the contest.
So, how does this work? You have to conquer seven kingdoms in central Ransei,
one of which you have. The seven kingdoms can invade each other as they will
enemy rosters. It's a pain, but you must deal with it. Good luck!
"The time has come when Mitsuhide can no longer condone his master Nobunaga's
 aggressive policy of waging endless battles. It is time to make a stand..."
Across the kingdom of Ransei, Nobunaga of Dragnor has be engaging in increasing
numbers of brutal battles, having now eleven of the seventeen kingdoms under
his control. He couldn't control all of them by himself, obviously, so he left
some under the control of his most trusted allies.
Mitsuhide was one of them, and took up Nixtorm, the Ice kingdom. There, he
contemplates on how following Nobunaga should lead to end of chaos in Ransei;
that was why he followed him. But, given the chaos stirred up by the fights,
Mitsuhide is not so sure. Even if peace was obtained, would people and Pokemon
be able to co-exist peacefully?
He chooses to stop Nobunaga. In Illusio, Ranmaru notifies Nobunaga of
Mitsuhide's betrayal. And so, what is your goal?
Conquer all seventeen kingdoms by January of Year 4. Yes, that's not a lie.
You'll have to, on average, conquer a kingdom every two months. That means you
will conquer a kingdom, shop/recruit, conquer, and so on. Not to mention the
potential invasions from Nobunaga.
I will not deny that a walkthrough is possible for the side story. But it is a
bit worthless. After all, you should know the Pokemon weaknesses and all that.
Plus, kingdoms' Pokemon will change over time. And I'm a bit lazy.
But good luck!
"Kotaro takes on the challenge of proving himself the greatest ninja, plunging
 Ransei into profound darkness in the process..."
In Ransei, people able to communicate with Pokemon are not Trainers, but
Warriors. Few people truly have this talent. Among the Warriors, there is a
group from Viperia, the Poison kingdom, and Yaksha, the Dark kingdom. This
group is focused solely on protecting the Warlord. They are called ninjas.
Three of the ninjas -- Kotaro, Hanzo, and Kunoichi -- always bickered about
their role in society. Today, they do as well. Nene is now so very tired of
it, so she issues a challenge.
Eight of the northern Ranseian kingdoms have been conquered; two each are given
to the three ninjas and Nene. You are to conquer all eight of these kingdoms.
As usual, abuse weaknesses and whatnot. I cannot provide a true guide to this,
given the scrambling nature of invasions.
different one of the southern four Ranseian kingdoms. As Mitsunari becomes
Warlord in Ignis, so do his other two friends in Fontaine and Greenleaf.
