After about many days of writing this FAQ and playing MP: Hunters.

Wow.  Been a while  hasn't it? I finally  updated the FAQ. Added some
questions, new glitches, and updated the contributors. But more updates
will be coming. I'm not done yet.

This FAQ is getting minor changes to the design. More space has been
added for easier accessibility. A new kind of sub-sections also has been
added. Please refer to the Introduction section for more info. And the
Secrets section is now re-named to Secrets and Glitches. Watch out for 
more regular updates.

Welcome to the Metroid Prime: Hunters Hunter FAQ.
Here, I will write about all of the Hunters. Their special abilities, affinity 
weapons, etc. As well as multiplayer maps and modes.

This is where all the fun begins. I will list all the hunters, in no particular
order. And write detailed information  about them. Ranging from  their
alternate (alt.) forms, affinity weapons, and  any special characteristics.

    3a. Samus Aran
   = = = = = = = = = =
   Species: Human
   Origins: Ysae Kaeps

   We'll kick things off with the heroine of the Metroid series, Samus
    Aran. Samus Aran is possibly the greatest bounty hunter in the whole
    galaxy. Raised by the Chozo, she now does missions for the Galactic
    Federation. Her new mission sends her to the Tetra Galaxy. Where 
    she must collect some ancient artifacts left by an extinct race called
    the Alimbics.
    
    -----------------
    Homing Missiles
    -----------------
    Samus' affinity weapon is a homing missile which can track enemy 
    movement. The charge attack increases its effectiveness. ONLY
    Samus is able to get it. It also consumes missile ammo, not universal
    ammo such as the Judicator or Volt Driver.

    My Impression: Apparently, you must charge it to have it track your
    enemies. Also, it makes a beeping noise. Both you and the opponent
    can hear it.

     Alt. Form
     ----------
     Samus' alt. form is the morph ball. It can lay down three morph ball
     at a time. It's special ability allows it to boost. By sliding the stylus
     across the touch screen. Or by holding and releasing the R button.

      3b. Kanden
     = = = = = = = =
     Species: Enoema
     Origins: A Sinister Laboratory

     Kanden is a lab experiment gone awry. He was made to be the
     ultimate soldier. Immortal and relentless. He seeks the ultimate
     power to prove he's the finest bounty hunter in the galaxy.

     ------------
     Volt Driver
     ------------
     Kanden's affinity weapon is the Volt Driver. when charged by
     Kanden, the volt seems to track the enemy a bit. If it hits, it
     interupts the visor. Making it harder to aim. This weapon is 
     similar to the Lob Gun in Metroid Prime: First Hunt demo.
  
     My Impression: It's very useful against human players. Or course,
     I'm not sure if the BOTs are affected by it. If you can press the fire
     button quickly. Then this weapon will make use of your opponents
     quickly. Great after you've disorted their visor.

     ----------
     Alt. Form
     ----------
     The name of his alt. form is Stinglarva. It's tail can detach itself and 
     track your enemy if he/she approaches the tail. Like the morph ball, 
     it can "jump" if you slither right on to it as it explodes. Standing just
     on top of it won't work.

      3c. Spire
     = = = = = = =
     Species: Daimont
     Origins: Mondreus

      The last of his kind (and my personal favorite). Spire seeks the
      ultimate power to help solve the mystery of his lost race. As well as
      figuring out the mystery of his own.

     ----------
     Magmaul
     ----------
     When Magmaul is in the hands of Spire. It becomes a very deadly
     weapon. When charged, it'll explode on impact. Not only is it more
     powerful. It'll burn the target (and you, if you're too close to the
     explosion). The burning takes out 10-20 Hit Points towards your
     target. While it makes you lose about 10 Hit Points.

     Alt. Form
     ----------
     Dailanche is the name and man, is it powerful. When used the rocks
     on the sides release and circle Spire. A few hits will take your enemy
     out. Also, Dailanche allows to to climb walls, only vertically though.
     Good if you need to get to a high place quickly.

      3d. Sylux
     = = = = = = =
     Species: Unknown
     Origins: Cylosis

     A hunter who harbors an intense hatred for the Galactic Federation.
     As well as Samus Aran for assisting them in the past. It doesn't seem
     there are any reasons for Sylux for obtaining the Ultimate Power.
     Possibly to just destroy Samus and the Galatic Federation with it.

     ------------
     Shock Coil
     ------------
     Some sort of electrical magnetic beam. It practically targets you and 
     never lets go. When Sylux uses it, he replenishes his health while
     depleting yours. It can also kill VERY quickly sometimes.
  
     ----------
     Alt. Form
     ----------
     Lockjaw may indeed be the hardest to master. Sylux lays down an
     object which looks similar to a morph ball bomb. When two are laid
     down close to each other. If you touch the beam, they will track you
     until they explode. An electrical beam will emit from them.
     Causing a lot of damage if you're caught in it. It seems like you can
     "connect" three of them. Forming a triangle. When three bombs are
      placed, they will explode. But if someone is inside the triangle, the
      bombs will track the enemy until they explode. (Using the triangle
      perfectly can kill your opponents instantly)

      3e. Noxus
     = = = = = = =
     Species: Vhozon
     Origins: Vho

      A proud member of the Vhozon. He seeks the ultimate power to
      keep it away from lawbreakers or the unworthy.

      ----------
      Judicator
      ----------
      This weapon is very similar to the Ice Beam.When used by Noxus,
      some sort of Snow Shield will appear in front of Noxus. I don't think
      any beam is released like the rest of the hunters do. If an enemy is 
      close enough. (S)he will be frozen. Allowing the hunter(s) to inflict
      a lot of damage on your opponent.

     ----------
     Alt. Form
     ----------
     Vhosycthe is a very sharp edged alt. form attack. When holding the 
     fire button. Some sort of scythe, possibly his leg or something. Starts
     circling Noxus. If it hits someone, it'll cause quite a lot of damage and
     possibly knock them off the edge. But it you must hold the fire button
     again if you want to use the scythe. Since it'll go away after hitting 
     someone.

      3f. Weavel
     = = = = = = =
     Species: Cybernetic Space Pirate
     Origins: Unknown
    
     A cybernetic warrior. He was badly injured in a battle with Samus Aran.
     He has been reconstructed and fused with a Power Suit.

      Battlehammer
      --------------
      This weapon is kind of like the Magmaul. Mainly because it lobs. If you
      played the First Hunt demo, this weapons should be really familiar. But
      when Weavel uses it, the Battlehammer explodes on impact, causing 
      more damage. As well as splash damage.

      ----------
      Alt. Form
      ----------
      Weavel merely splits himself in half. The bottom half becomes a turret. It
       fires a battlehammer-like weapon. While the top half walks around. You
       control the top half. You can actually damage your opponent by getting
       very close. He jumps from his hands and attacks you with them.
       Finally, your health is split in half. For example, if you have 90HP. The
       bottom turret takes half (45HP) and the top part takes the other half 
      (45HP). If the bottom turret is destroyed or damage, then you lose those
       HP. If the top half is destroyed, you're dead.

      3g. Trace
     = = = = = = =
     Species: Kriken
     Origins: Kiriken Empire

      Part of one of the most hated and feared species in the galaxy. When
      coming of age, a Kriken is exiled, in order for it to expand the galaxy.
      Trace tends to use the Ultimate Power to bringing supremacy to the
      Krikens and himself.

      Imperialist
      -----------
      The sniper rifle of the game. Double tapping the icon or pressing R
      (for Stylus Right), you can zoom in. If you find someone, it'll zoom
       in even more. When Trace has this weapon equipped, he'll turn
       invisible. ONLY, by standing still. Making him a deadly sniper.

      ----------
      Alt. Form
      ----------
      Triskelion. Brings a shiver down people's spine. The fastest and
      possibly the best alt. form in the game. Trace becomes something
      that looks very similar to the Ing creature in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
      It has a lunge attack. This attack takes out between 49-51 HP. So
      yeah, you better hope you have a LOT of health if you want to go up
      against it.
      Finally, if you stand still, you'll turn invisible.

 4. Multiplayer Modes
= = = = = = = = = = =
Multiplayer in the Metroid series first appeared in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
It was pretty fun, but wasn't as fun as Halo 2 or any other shooters. In the
multiplayer aspect that is.
Well was then, this is now. Metroid Prime: Hunters is possibly one of the
greatest multiplayer game on ANY handheld. Which is no surprise since
Nintendo help make it.
As with many multiplayer games. there are different modes of play.
And here they are. While listing the modes, I display their options. Such as
Team Play and Time Limit (which is only in minutes). Advanced Options 
will be added right here. Since it's the same for every mode, except Prime
Hunter. Whereas Friendly Fire is disabled. As there is no Team Play in that
mode.
Also, I'll list the type of stages that are available for each mode. They'll be
listed by their sizes.

Hunters on Radar: On/Off*
  If this is off, only items will be displayed. If on, the Hunters will be
  displayed as well. In red dots that is.

Damage Level: Low, Medium*, High
  This indicates how much damage you take.

Friendly Fire**: On/Off*
  Only applied for Team Play. If on, you can damage your partner. If off,
  you can shoot your partner a hundred times and (s)he won't take any 
  damage.

Available Weapons: Default Weapons*, Affinity Weapons
  If left as Default. Any weapon that's on the map can be obtained. As
  for affinity, only the hunter's affinity weapon can be obtained.

*This option is always preset.
**Friendly Fire is in every mode except Prime Hunter.

      4a. Battle
     = = = = = = =
     The basic shoot em' 'till they're dead while racking up points.

      4b. Survival
     = = = = = = = =
     It's Battle, but with lives. The last hunter standing wins.
     This mode also has something special though. If you stay away from
     the battles by standing still and hiding. You'll be marked as a coward.
     And your position will be revealed. With a white dot on every hunter's
     screen. So they can follow it and track you down.

     Lives: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10*
     Time Limit: 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 15*, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 
     60
     Team Play: Off*, On

     Stages: All stages are available.

      4c. Bounty
     = = = = = = = =
     This is the almost like 1-Capture the Flag and this is what Hunters
     is about. There is an Octolith somewhere in the stage and you must
     retrieve it. Once in your possession. You  must take it to the 
     designated place on the map.

     Octolith: 1, 2, 3*, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, 20, 25
     Time Limit: 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 15*, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60
     Auto Reset: On*/Off
       This means, if the octolith is dropped, then it'll automatically go back
       to it's original position. If on that is. If off, then someone else can 
       pick it up where it was dropped.
     Team Play: On/Off*
 
     Stages: Transfer Lock, Council Chamber, Elder Passage, Fault Line
       These stages are all large.
     Team Play: Off*, On

      4d. Defender
     = = = = = = = = =

     This is Metroid Prime: Hunter's version of King of the Hill. The object
     is to stay in a ring (the hill) for a certain amount of time. If there 
     are two or more hunters inside the ring. The ring will be contested.
     In team mode, both you and your partner don't have to be in the
     ring at the same time. But if you both are, there are no time bonuses
     for having two hunters in the ring together.

     Time Goal: 1, 1.5*, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
     Time Limit: 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 15*, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 
    60
     Team Play: On/Off*

     Stages: Combat Hall, Data Shrine, Processor Core, Ice Hive, 
     Alinos Perch, Sic Transit, Transfer Lock, Sanctorus,
     Subterranean, Outer Reach, Harvester, Weapons Complex,
     Council Chamber, Stasis Bunker,  Celestial Gateway,
     Alinos Gateway, Voo Gateway, Arcterra Gateway, Dubliette
    
       This gives for a total of 19 stages. These all range from small
       to large.


     = = = = = = = = = = =
      4e. Prime Hunter
     = = = = = = = = = = =
     This mode is similar to both Halo 2's Juggernut and Star War
     Battlefront II's Hero characters. The first person to get a kill
     becomes the Prime Hunter. Here are its powers:
     -Higher Damage Level (possibly 25% stronger)
     -Increased Running Speed
     -Higher and Farther Jumping Distance 
         (Possibly due to increased speed)
     -Every Affinity Power
        This means if Spire gets the Judicator when he's the Prime
        Hunter. He too, can freeze his opponents.
     But, like SW: Battlefront II's Hero Characters, you are
     constantly losing health. You cannot obtain health orbs. You
     must kill opponents to gain back health. I believe you gain
     50 energy points. If the Prime Hunter dies by the health
     effect. Someone must kill someone else to become the
     Prime Hunter. Its not random like in Halo 2. Whereas, if
     the Juggernut kills him/herself, someone else is randomly
     chosen.
     Finally, in order to win, you must stay the Prime Hunter
     for the allotted time goal. Similar to Defender.

     Time Goal: 1, 1.5*, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
     Time Limit: 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 15*, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 
     60

     Stages: All stages are available.

      4f. Capture
     = = = = = = = = 
     This is merely Capture The Flag. Only that this time, the flag
     is an octolith. Capture the enemy's octolith and return it to your
     flag. If your flag is captured and you return it. You will not get
     a point/.

     Octolith Goal: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5*, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, 20, 25
     Time Limit: 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 15*, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 
     60
     Auto Reset: On*/Off
       This means, if the flag is dropped, it'll automatically return to
       its owner's base.

     Stages: Every stage except small stages, Oubliette, High Ground
     and a few others (someone confirm the rest of the unavailable
     stages for Capture)

      4g. Nodes
     = = = = = = = = 
     Similar to Defender. There are rings (The number of nodes vary
     between the size of) around the stage. When you capture one, 
     you'll gain bonus points (possibly one) for kills. Capturing two
     will double the bonus. With three or more nodes, you'll start
     gaining points while time passes.

     Point Goal: 40, 50, 60, 70*, 80, 90, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180,
     200, 250
     Time Limit: 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 15*, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 
     60
     Team Play: On/Off*

     Stages: Every stage except one. (Need confirmation)

 5. Multiplayer Maps

Here are the maps. Note, some maps are merely extensions of others.
Council Chamber is an extension of Alinos Perch. Just with an extra
lava section and another room under the room with the Imperialist.
I will also feature attributes*, power-ups**, etc. This will take a few
updates to complete. More details MAY be added in future updates.

*Not every stage will have attributes posted. Attributes merely list
things like Ice, Lava, Low Gravity, etc.
**Some stages may have power-ups that I don't know. Confirm
by telling me the power-up and its location in the stage.

As with many multiplayer games, people tend to make up their own
matches. In this section, I'll list custom matches. Note: Some of 
these matches were not made up by myself, if I make any. If I do, 
I am sorry. BUT! If it's slightly different, then e-mail me your 
variations.


METEORS! (By ZeroWil):
Players: 2-4
Teams: Optional
Map: Any open-spaced large stage. Alinos Gateway is perfect for this.
Mode: Battle or Survival
Hunter: Spire
Weapons: Affinity
Info: Only Magmaul should be used. Just start shooting your 
opponents.Try launching it in the air. Then they'll really look like
meteors.
*This wasn't totally my idea, but the variations are.
**You can do this with Weavel. The Battlehammer lobs as well.


ROCKETS FOR LIFE (by Flint247):

Info: Basically, once you get killed. You stay in Alt form(alien) 
while hunting the other Imperials(Invisible preditors). I have 
played versions where when everyone is an alien, its game 
over, or when everyone is an alien.The ones with the lowest 
points get to be predators again.

 7. Secrets and Glitches
= = = = = = = = = = = =
As with many video games. The multiplayer aspect is filled with glitches,
secrets, and other things. Whether its the super jump in Halo 2
or passing the boundaries. This game is no different. This section
is dedicated to the glitches and secrets of Metroid Prime: Hunters.
Please take note that all these glitches/secrets have been tested by me
and proven successful. I also wanted to try them for myself. :)

  The Invisible Ceiling
  --------------------
Stage: Head Shot (exterior)
Hunters: Samus and/or Kanden
  
Info: Apparently, on the upper section of the exterior of Head Shot.
There is an invisible ceiling that can be traveled on. First, choose Samus
or Kanden (Samus is a bit easier). Go to the upper section (outside)
and lay a morph ball bomb. Then, it'll propell you into the air. Then
you'll be stopped by an invisible ceiling. You can actually travel on
the ceiling. Now, to stay stuck to the ceiling. You must lay a morph
ball bomb about every 3-4 seconds. Or you'll fall (and possibly die).
for Kanden, it's the same thing as the morph ball jump. But when you
lay the tail seeker (that's what I call it). You must slither into it or

Info: Turn into alt. form and fall of the stage. Before you die, lay 3
bombs and they'll explode. Propelling you into the air a bit. Continue
doing this so you won't die and can waste time AND hide from your
opponent.

  The Spire Glitch

Stage: Alinos Gateway
Hunters: Spire (duh!)

Info: Go to Alinos Gateway, head to the lavafall, go to the left side of the 
arch shaped rock, look completely up and hold up on the d-pad, you will 
go up. If you notice a stop, move left or right, and you should keep going, 
when you see through the wall and your character can't control it, turn into 
alt. form. If you are very, very, very lucky, you should go through the rock 
and you can see through it, a perfect spot for sniping!

Info:You must play on the stage, Oubliette. But only 1-on-1. The
Omega Cannon is located at the top. Beware, the blast radius is
HUGE when it hits!
UPDATE: It seems the OMG appears in 3 player battles as well. For I
have seen it in an online game I played.

Info: On one of the paths leading to the Omega Cannon. There's a hole
you can get in with the alt. form. Trace can lunge into the rock and you
can get the Omega Cannon from that crack.

Hunters: Sylux

Info: Lay  down  two bombs  and  have  someone cross  the trip wire. 
This will cause the  bombs to track their target and explode. When 
you see  one explode.Lay  another  bomb  quickly. It will  be connected 
to the trip wire. Keep doing this until the opponent is dead.

Q: What does lob mean?
A: That means the weapon arcs. Doesn't fire in a straight line. So  it  can
go over walls. Try throwing a round ball, softly, in the air. And you'll get
a good idea.

A: MAYBE. In one of the lores, it says "Within each Octolith is a spirit,

gives you the telepathic message after you obtain an octolith.
