Introduction
Hi, erm....this is my first ever FAQ, so if there is anything i did wrong,
please tell me, or if you have anything to add, email me at
[email protected]. First, let me congratulate you on planning or
already buying, in my opinion, one of the greatest games. This is not a
translation guide to the game, although I will be translating anything that
needs it in order for the English crowd to understand.

Jump Superstars is a Japanese-only 2D fighter game in which you fight as and
against characters from a wide selection of manga (Japanese comic books) from
the popular magazine Shonen Jump. The reason why it wasn't brought to English
or any other language speaking country is multiple ownership of these comics
in those countries. But we don't care about that, since if your reading this,
you already know that.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In The Beginning........There Were The Basics
This FAQ is to help you, the reader, and hopefully, a video gamer, get the
most out of the game. This looks at the battle system, which i will quickly
go over, so if you already know, skip this next part:
	Imagine a page in a comic book, with the page being split into 20
equal squares (4 by 5). Now, to set up a team, each battle character you want
on there will take up 4-7 squares (depending on how strong they are), plus you
can have a wide variety of characters to summon into battle to do a quick to
semi-quick attack on people, each of these taking up between 2-3 squares,
called support characters, and then every character has a single square that
can be used, called help squares, while not summoning anything on the screen,
will help in other ways, giving you boosts to a variety of places (speed,
healing ability, temporary invincibility, etc.). In the game and for the rest
of this FAQ, a square is called a koma. While in battle, to use a character/
switch to a different battling character, you use the interactive bottom
screen on the DS.
Now, this FAQ specifically looking into 3 separate and yet connected komas
that you use to create a special attack, which when you press any of these
will call a second battle character for you both to do an attack on an
opponent, called a tag-team attack. Most battle characters, when paired up,
will do an attack that they would do if you had pressed their 2 or 3 support
koma (There is no difference, I have found, in tag-team attacks, if you use a
different size battle koma). But there is a catch, there are a couple tag-team
ups that actually does an entirely new attack, that look pretty cool.
Specifically, this FAQ looks at the different pairing ups that work, whether
they are special or not.
When setting up the help komas that activate the tag-team attacks, the three
komas must be in contact on the set up screen, forming a line, whether in an
L shape or a line. Each end of the 3 komas must come into contact with a battle
koma, you will see what i mean since at either end will have little flashing
arrows. To activate the attack in a battle, you just need to tap any of the 3
squares.
For the purpose of this FAQ, i will list the symbols for each different manga
that is in the game, so people can find the characters listed here easier:
Football (Rugby for British players): Eyeshield21, Strawberry: Ichigo 100%,
Black hat: Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Ice Cream Parfait: Gintama, Golden Badge:
KochiKame, Bowl with steam: Shaman King, Blue hat: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure,
Green ball: Steel Ball Run, Basketball: Slam Dunk, Silver pendant: D. Grey-man,
Black book: Death Note, Tennis racket and ball: Prince of Tennis, Pink poo: Dr.
Slump, Dragon ball: Dragon ball Z, Leaf design: Naruto, an X with a diamond in
it: Hunter X Hunter, Black and white tokens: Hikaru No Go, Recorder/Flute: Pyuu
to Fuku! Jaguar, Steel hexagon: Busou Renkin, Black cat: Black Cat, Lion head:
Bleach, Japanese Sybol: Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Baseball and bat, Mr. Fullswing,
Upside down pyramid: Yu-Gi-Oh, Blue creature: Yu Yu Hakusho, Sword: Rurouni
Kenshin, Pirate skull with hat: One Piece, Pirate face: Shonen Jump magazine
Now, onto......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Requirements

In order to do any tag-team attack, you must have A) 2 battle komas (4-7 squares
in size), and B) the Friendship, Effort, and Victory help komas

In order to get the 3 help komas, you need to do the following missions/battles:
Friendship: Beat the Grasslands 1-10 battle by defeating more characters than
your opponent

Effort: Beat the Desert 1-11 battle by defeating more characters than your
opponent

Victory: Beat the City 1-10 battle by defeating more character than your
opponent

Except for the 4 square Luffy (from One Piece) Battle koma, which you get at the
beginning of the game, you need to unlock every other battle character, but
there are other FAQ's for that located on http://www.gamefaqs.com and
http://www.ign.com for that.

The Not-So-Official Tag-Teams

Alright, this is the fun part of the FAQ. This is the part which lists custom
Tag-teams that I or anyone that has submitted help have found. These can
actually be very helpful, as i find some of them about as useful as the more
powerful official tag-teams. I would like to point out that although Dr.
Mashirito doesnt have a 2-3 support koma, his attack with the tag-team komas
are the same as his up+x move for his 5 battle koma

Yoh (Shaman King) & Jaguar (Pyuu to Fuku! Jaguar)
Although you don't need to use Yoh, i find that this combo is really effective,
especially against Power Fighters, Jaguar will run out, trap the opponent
behind words, while Yoh throw Amidamaru at them, jaguar then launching the
opponent up in the air, causing them to fall back to earth a bit heavier.

Explosive Grab
Robin (One Piece) & Tsunayoshi and Reborn (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!)
This one is quite a fun one, T/R fall asleep, hanging grenades all around them,
and Robin reaches out and pulls your opponent into it, making the grenades going
off. More effective against laughter

Slash n' Blast
Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin) & Yusuke (Yu Yu Hakusho)
Kenshin and Yusuke appear beside each other, and while Kenshin slashes the
opponent several times, Yusuke charges and fires his Rei Gan

Punching hailstorm
Jotaro (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) & Dio (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure)
The closer you are for this the better. It is very quick, and when done
correctly, can be very devistating. Dio and Jotaro's avatars appear in front of
them and do a quick succession of punchs then a devistating punch, sending
whoever is caught in it flying

Spinning Rei Gan
Gintoki (Gintama) & Yusuke (Yu Yu Hakusho)
Ok, it doesn't look like it the long the attack happens, but close enough.
Gintoki throws his wooden sword at the same time Yusuke fires his Rei Gan,
making it look like the sword is empowered. Prevents the foe from changing
characters.
