           I. Introduction
===========================================

There ARE spoilers in this guide.
**WARNING**
Hello! This is my first FAQ and I'm really nervous! Anyway, this guide
is meant to help the players woo and marry the potential spouses in
the game. I will cover everything from getting them on the island
to having your child. I will try to make this guide easy to read and
understandable.

1.2-Whew...I added the rest of the Heart Event info. There was a lovely
story behind the reason it took so long. My laptop got wiped by a 
virus! After trying so hard to recover it, I just decided to copy
paste the guide into Notepad. *sigh* Anyway, I hope the new info
isn't too confusing!

Bachelors:

Name: Mark
Birthday: Winter 27
Comes to the island: Hire Gannon to build the three bridges,
unlock all of the characters that have portraits (except
the Mineral Town characters), and have the Hotel in East
Town expanded.
Personality: Mark is a new farmer like you. He will only be in the 
game if you are playing as the girl farmer. Moves out if you ignore
him for 30 days.
Rival: None.

Name: Vaughn
Birthday: Spring 3
Comes to the island: Spring 16th. You don't have to do anything
special to make him appear. He appears ONLY on Wednesdays and
Thursdays.
Personality: Quiet and somewhat cold. Supplies Mirabelle with 
animals. He does not move out
Rival: Sabrina

Name: Elliot
Birthday: Summer 21
Comes to the island: At the very beginning.
Personality: His younger sister Natalie picks on him constantly
thus causing him to lack self-esteem. He does not move out.
Rival: Julia

Name: Shea
Birthday: Winter 2
Comes to the island: When the final bridge is built to the Jungle.
Personality: A wild man who speaks in chopped up sentences. Protects
a tower with Wada.
Rival: None.
Note: YOU CANNOT SEE SHEA'S HEART COLOUR. I don't really know why but
you just can't. You can still marry him regardless. To know what Heart
Colour he is on, pay attention to the text because ith each Heart Colour, 
his text changes.

Name: Denny
Birthday: Fall 26
Comes to the island: Catch at least 50 things and have East Town 
unlocked.
Personality: A fisherman with an positive attitude and a sense of humour.
He also has a cute little black bird named Kuu which you always see with 
him. Moves out if you ignore him and do not ship any fish for 30 days.
Rival: Lanna

Name: Pierre
Birthday: Spring 13
Comes to the island: Upgrade your house to the medium size and buy a 
kitchen. Upgrade the Diner or the Cafe by having 20 to 25 sub-villagers
and learn at least 5 recipes. You learn recipes by giving the owner
a cooking item such as crops, animal products, or chocolate. Sometimes
the owner fails but keep trying! Try saving and reloading if you need
to conserve your items.
Personality: A young gourmet who loves cooking. He certainly looks better
than the old Gourmet. Moves out if you ignore and don't ship any cooked
items for 30 days.
Rival: Natalie

Bachelorettes:

Name: Chelsea
Birthday: Spring 20
Comes to the island: Hire Gannon to build the three bridges,
unlock all of the characters that have portraits (except
the Mineral Town characters), and have the Hotel in East
Town expanded.
Personality: Chelsea is a new farmer like you. Chelsea will only be 
in the game if you are playing as a boy. Moves out if you ignore
her for 30 days.

Name: Julia
Birthday: Spring 6
Comes to the island: Spring 12. You don't have to do anything special.
Personality: Hates poor treatment to fish so DON'T give her any. She is
also a poor cook and lives with her mother Mirabelle. Does not move out.
Rival: Elliot

Name: Sabrina
Birthday: Winter 12
Comes to the island: Ship 20 items found in the mine.
Personality: Extremely quiet and shy. She is the daughter of the
wealthy Regis who is in the mining business. Moves out if you ignore her
and ship less than 4 items from the mine for a straight 30 days.
Rival: Vaughn

Name: Natalie
Birthday: Summer 28
Comes to the island: In the beginning of the game.
Personality: Can seem distant and mean sometimes but she'll warm up to
you. Enjoys picking on her older brother Elliot. She will never move out.
Rival: Pierre

Name: The Witch Princess
Birthday: Winter 29
Comes to the island: Once you hire Gannon to build the second bridge to
the forest.
Personality: Has a weird obsession with teddy bears and hates the Harvest
Goddess. Enjoys pranks. Never moves out.
Rival: None.
Note: YOU CANNOT SEE THE WITCH PRINCESS'S HEART COLOUR

Name: Lanna
Birthday: Fall 2
Comes to the island: Unlock East Town and catch 70 items while fishing.
Personality: Lanna is a pop star that has escaped from the city. She has
an interest in fishing. Moves out if you ignore her and don't ship any fish
for 30 days.
Rival: Denny.

               IV. Wooing
===========================================

How to woo: First of all, when you talk to a bachelor/ette, you
will probably notice the little heart in the portrait. Well, your
goal is to get that little heart to a big red one. How do you do
that you ask? Well, here are some pointers:

1. Talk to this person daily especially since ALL characters, eligible
marriage candidates or not, need at least 3 days of daily talk before
they'll begin to accept gifts. Daily conversation will give a small
boost to their love points and sometimes you'll get some text about you.
Also, talk to them and participate in festivals. You'll make a lot of
people happy that way!

2. Give this person a gift they like. This can be hard especially since
sometimes you don't know what they like and what they don't like. I will cover 
the items that the candidates do and don't like. Bachelor/ettes really like
if you give them a gift on their birthday.

3. DON'T litter. Littering will cause many characters to dislike you so
don't do it.

4. Invite your potential spouse to a romantic festival. These festivals are:
-The Goddess Festival on Spring 7th and 8th. Invite your potential spouse
on a date!
-The Spring Festival on Spring 14th. A day for boys to give girls chocolate.
-Fireworks on Summer 25th. Invite a potential spouse to watch with you.
-Winter Thanksgiving on Winter 14th. A day for girls to give boys chocolate.
-Starry Night on Winter 23rd and 24th. On Winter 23rd, you will be invited
by whichever potential spouse that is at a Green Heart. To be invited, enter
their house from 6 pm to 10 pm. The next evening you two will have dinner along
with any of their family members.


Character likes and dislikes:

**Just a small note here. To save your time and mine, I will only list
EASY items that the character both likes and dislikes. If there are any
problems, I will adjust it according to the e-mails I get.

Likes: Anything. No, I'm not kidding. He'll even take weeds. However, this
can be bad because the gifts are only a small contribution to his love points
causing this to take a considerable amount of time.

             V. Heart Events
===========================================

Heart Events are a requirement for marriage. You must
see the Purple, Blue, and Yellow Heart Events to marry
the bachelor/ette. The Heart Events require you to have
the person at the specified heart colour or above in
order to activate it. There are also specific times
and requirements for the event to activate as well. I
will list the Heart Events for each person along with
the requirements, location, and times.

*Note: A lot of these responses are pulled from my memory
so they may be a little off. If you see something wrong,
please e-mail so I can fix them!
**Also note: Negative responses decrease Friend Points for the
people involved!

            VI. Rival Heart Events
===========================================

Rival Heart Events are not a good thing is you're trying to marry
someone. If you don't woo someone fast enough, they might marry
someone else! However, there is a way to avoid these events and
that is to keep the one you want to marry at a high heart level.
Once the you witness the Orange Heart Event between the two, they
will be married. I will give you requirements for each one so you
can avoid them!

Sabrina + Vaughn:

Black Heart Event
When: 5 pm to 8 pm, at least 14 days have passed since you've met
them, the character of the opposing gender to you must be at
a Black Heart, on a Wednesday or Thursday, and it must be Clear.
Where: East Town

Blue Heart Event
When: 9 am to 5 pm, Year 2 or later, the character of the opposing
gender to you must Blue Heart or lower, not raining.
Where: The Beach

Green Heart Event
When: 6 am to 11 pm, Year 3 or later, the character of the opposing
gender to you must be at a Green Heart or lower, any weather.
Where: Regis's house.

Orange Heart Event
When: 10 am to 4 pm, Year 4 or later, the character of the opposing
gender to you must be at an Orange Heart or lower, not raining.

           VII. Getting Married
===========================================

Getting married requires you to do a few things. I will list
the necessary things you must do:
-Have your potential spouse at a Red Heart and view all
of their Heart Events.
-Unlock all of the characters with portraits.
-Upgrade your house to the large size and purchase the large bed.

As soon as you complete these requirements, you can propose to the one
you are wooing. Once you get an eligible bachelor/ette up to an orange
heart, Chen will sell a Blue Feather for 1000 G. After proposing, the
two of you will get married a week later. After this you can soon have
a...

              VIII. Child
===========================================

That's right! A child! Once you are married, you will be able
to uprgrade your house to Extra Large. Once you do that, you
can purchase the baby bed from Chen. After a season of keeping 
your spouse happy, you or your wife (depending on who you are 
playing as) will get pregnant. Then, after two more seasons, 
your child will be born!

For the first 2 years, the baby will just sit in the bed. You
can't give it any gifts or raise it's affection. After 2 years
have passed, it will then be crawling and you can give it gifts.
2 years later, your child will be walking and you can see him or
her at festivals!

Q: When I try to enter this area for the Heart event, it doesn't
work! What am I doing wrong?

A: Sometimes, you have to enter the area from different places,
e.g. for one of Vaughn's events you have to enter the forest
from the mountain.
