Puzzles are reasonably easier to tackle and battles can be monotonous but w/ summons almost similar to the Final Fantasy series (I'd say FF4 DS) you'd feel right @ home summoning like there is no tomorrow! Overall a worthy sequel! This guide will focus on getting you from the start till the end! He doesn't talk and you'll have to control his emotion or facial expression which do not do anything much and the response you'll get from your peers most of the time are almost always negative. :\ � KARIS - WIND -------------- Karis can control the wind and conjure spells like Whirlwind and Tornadoes (cool, huh?) I wish I could do the same so I can blow away all the idiots in my life! Karis behaves and acts like a mother to both Matt and Ty. � TYRELL -- FIRE ---------------- Garet's son, he's prone to creating trouble as well as creating fireballs, can't seem to keep his temper in check but I'm sure deep down he is nice and all just a little reckless. � RIEF -- WATER --------------- Mia's son whom I thought was a "daughter" at first but oh well, this guy here controls the element of Water and is able to douse flames and fire w/ his Psynergy. Probably the more cautious, logical one; the opposite of Ty- rell. ___________________________________________________________________________ �|������������������������������������������|������������������������������ | BATTLE MECHANICS + BUFFS & DEBUFFS (BM%) | '------------------------------------------' Not gonna cover everything since the manual is there for a reason. You did bought the game, right? -- PSYNERGY AND DJINNI SYSTEM -- � PSYNERGY ---------- Psynergy can both be used in and out of battle but there's only a handful. Spells like Fireball can be used to ignite or trigger traps/contraption while the Wind Adept's Whirlwind spell can be used to elevate object like the "Floating Flower" or whatever it is called. � DJINNI -------- In all honesty I don't really care which is the proper way to spell what is singular and what is plural when referring to Djinn, for singular I'll call it DJINNI and plural will be called DJINNIS. Ok? Djinnis need to be acquired; sometimes in hard to reach places or even in a random encounter in a particular off-beaten path. I will of course note down if a particular Djinni can be acquired etc, etc. � USING DJINNIS --------------- Once you've acquired the Djinnis you can set them up under the Djinn menu. Setting up Djinn will allow a character to change class and in the process altering the character's stats. Eh, play around I am no pro at this and most likely I will just use what is best for my party at that point of time. � SET & STANDBY --------------- Setting a Djinn to a character will allow him to possess new Psynergies, while allowing a Djinn to go on Standby will make one lose a couple of their Psynergy spells. What's the point of putting them on Standby then? Well it allows YOU TO SUMMON powerful creatures pretty much like those in the Final Fantasy series by Square albeit much, much better and probably more beautiful than what Square-Enix could come up with nowadays. You can also do "Set & Standby" in battle too but I like doing it out of battle and summoning them on the battlefield the first chance I got it. And do not be stingy with the slots use up all three (you can always delete when one of them became obselete). � TALK TO EVERY ONE IN TOWN! ---------------------------- If you're looking to complete your Encyclopedia then ensure that you talk to every single person you come across, even signboards, bookshelves and whatnot! This is the only way to actually have a bearing on where to go next and at the same time to expand the Encyclopedia. � DON'T BE AFRAID TO ABUSE YOUR PSYNERGY! ----------------------------------------- Psynergy are automatically refill as you walk around or if you found a Psy Stone you can touch 'em to completely replenish your PP. � DON'T ESCAPE FROM BATTLE UNLESS YOU REALLY HAVE TO! ----------------------------------------------------- The old saying of RPG is: "if you run away too often you will never be the experienced fighter that you are" and eventually you will find that even overcoming a couple of cheap enemies becomes quite a chore; two words: lvl up! � DON'T SPEND MORE THAN YOU HAVE TO! ------------------------------------ Save your money! Sometimes equipment can be found in dungeons; this is how I play my game anyway, I can't really dictate how you should play yours but as a general rule try to use your best judgment when purchasing things in shop. To proceed w/ the story just head on up above the ladder to where everyone is. Regardless of your expression this does not really affect the game much but you'll have different dia- logues. Tyrell will get himself into trouble and you will have to trouble yourself to save him, what a chain of unfortunate events. Proceed into the Cabin and snatch up these stuffs: � Leather Cap -- Given to you by Karis. � Padded Gloves � Short Sword � SUN SAGA 1 (!) � An Herb (!) The Sun Saga books will retell you the tales of the Warrior Of Vale this is probably something the developer added if you have not played the first two games in the series. ---- .-----------------. | # PADDED GLOVES | '-----------------' While the (PADDED GLOVES) can be found two floors above also in a chest. .---------------. | # SHORT SWORD | '---------------' The (SHORT SOWRD) can be retrieved in the same room you're in--the chest! .--------------. | ! Random encounters will now begin. This 1F is pretty easy just slide and jump the gap(s) also to make things more easier set Matt's Psynergy (MOVE) to the L or R shoulder button. Feel free to use the Psynergy Stone if you want! Once you're out of the cave go down the stairs and (MOVE) the pillar to the middle so you can "jump gap" to reach the other side. Isaac and Garet will show up again to congratulate you! What awaits you next is the TANGLEWOOD. Go into battle and you are ready to unleash. Take note that you will lose one or a couple of Psynergy when you have the Djinnis on Standby, and yes you can do "Set and Standby" in battle too.
