How to Unlock ______________ -------------- To unlock Summoner, you must have access to the Ancient's Maze, which is guarded by giant statues. You must have the Invincible airship. The maze is in Northeast Surface World, surrounded by a set of impenetrable mountains. Once you have access to the Ancient's Maze, go inside and walk STRAIGHT forward into the first door you see. It looks like it's locked, but it is not. Now, approach the Earth Crystal, and the boss will appear. _ _ / \ Titan \_ _/ HP: 29,000 Recommended Level: 42+ Titan will use Quake sometimes. It shouldn't do substantial damage to your party at all if you are at the recommended level. If you are attempting this at a lower level, however, try having a heavily equipped Viking. A Viking can use Provoke to keep all Titan's physical attacks focused on him or her because Titan has very strong physical attacks. Simply have your mages in the back casting, your white mage healing, and your melee attackers attacking. Piece of cake. Once you have defeated Titan, you will have access to the Summoner job. ____________ ------------ III. Statistics ____________ ------------ Special Ability: Magic Note: Summoners summon all summons. Strategies ____________ ------------ First and foremost, put your Summoner in the back. Putting characters in the back row will give them a defense boost while not affecting your magic in any way. The key is to play to your opponent's weakness because all the summons do pure damage, but they have different elemental attributes. The summons' attributes are: ________________________ _______ _________ _____________________ |_________Summon_________|_Level_|_Element_|________Effect_______| | | | | | | Escape (Chocobo) | 1 | None | Damage based on level | Icen (Shiva) | 2 | Ice | Ice Damage | | Spark (Ramuh) | 3 | Lightning Lightning Damage | | Heatra (Ifrit) | 4 | Fire | Fire Damage | | Hyper (Titan) | 5 | Earth | Earth Damage | | Catastro (Odin) | 6 | None | Sometimes Insant KO | | Leviath (Leviathan) | 7 | Water | Water Damage | | Bahamur (Bahamut) | 8 | None | Non-elemental Damage| |________________________|_______|_________|_____________________| All summons target all enemies with the exception of Escape. As the levels of the summons rise, the base damage of the summons stay the same. Use your Summoner as a damage-dealer. There really is not anything else you can do with them. INT is the main factor regarding how much damage you will do with each summon casted. The more you have, the harder they fall. _________ --------- V. Summon Locations ______________ -------------- Note: You can unlock Summons before you have unlocked the Summoner job. Also Note: Odin can be bought for 40,000 gil in Eureka, Leviathan for 50,000 gil, and Bahamut for 60,000 gil. A. Odin To get to the Saronia Catacombs, use the Nautilus to dive under the water just south of Saronia. When you enter the first room, just walk straight ahead. The second room is a little more tricky. Not. Just follow the path. In the third room, you can go up the right stairs to get the Golem Staff. Whether you so this or not, take the left stairs and follow the path to the next set of stairs. The fourth room has a secret path in the top right corner near to when you first enter. Here you can get four Elixers and four Phoenix Downs. The final set of stairs is due Northwest of the the previous set of stairs. Enter the final room and follow the path to begin the battle. _ _ / \ Odin \_ _/ HP: 21,000 Recommended Level: 40+ Odin has a brutal physical attack. Make sure your party is fully equipped with good armor. When he loses about half of his health, he will start using 'Zantetsuken' that will deal heavy damage to the entire party. Kill this guy as quickly as possible. B. Leviathan Leviathan is in Lake Dohr, which you can access with the Invincible on the Floating Continent near Castle Argus. You will have to fly over a small peak of mountains, land around the lake, and utilize your Folding Canoe to get in. You know you are in the right place when you see an Animal Crossing-esque fish shadow in the water. When you first enter Lake Dohr, folow the south wall to get to a dead end with lots of goodies that are useful for the upcmong battle. Contnue North from here and open the remaining chests. When you are satisfied, descend the set of stairs below the four side-by-side chests. When you reach a curled path eventually, walk until you reach an open area. Go North for some goodies or South for the next set of stairs. You will need to squeeze by a small body of water to reach the stairs. In the next room, Follow the path until you see another small body of water. Go to its West side for some goodies, its Northeast path for some more goodies, or Northwest for the next set of stairs. In the final room, follow the swirling path to the center of the room. _ _ / \ Leviathan \_ _/ HP: 22,000 Recommended Level: 40+ Leviathan can quite easily petrify your party with his physical attacks. In addition, he will cast Protect and Haste on himself as some solid buffs. Leviathan is weak to lightning, so use all your best lightning-based items and attacks to penetrate his weak point for massive damage. Beware of his Blizzaga and Tsunami attacks. Tsunami will damage your whole party for considerable water damage. C. Bahamut Bahamut is also on the Floating Continent and you will again need the Invincible to reach him. Go West of Gyshal and move around a little to find a cozy little nook where a small peak of mountains is guarding a mountain cave. Fly over the peaks with the Invincible and enter Bahamut's Lair. In the first room, follow the first right and left paths you see to get some excellent goodies that include a Heavenly Wrath, Earthen Drum, Phoenix Down, and Arctic Wind. When you are sone, head to the South of the room and descend the stairs. Follow the obvious path in the next room, and collect the goodies along the way. Again, follow the path in the final room, opening any chests you please. When you see a light, enter it. _ _ / \ Bahamut \_ _/ HP: 24,000 Recommended Level: 40+ All you really need for this battle is a Dragoon because Bahamut is weak to Aerial-based attacks. If you choose not to use one, however, try to avoid Megaflare, a powerful non-elemental attack that damages the whole party. There is nothing too special about this battle. D. All Others You can easily and cheaply buy the rest of the summons at Doga's Village for 7,000 gil each (except for Escape which is 1 gil) To access Doga's Village, fly the Nautilus to the eastern tip of the continent Dalg and submerge. Follow the obvious path. If you can't seem to find the path, look on your World Map and look for a small crack in one of the southern continents. That is the path you are looking for. ______________ -------------- VII. Legal Stuff ______________ -------------- Final Fantasy III (c) 1990, 2006 Square-Enix Co., Ltd.
