Intro********************************************F1*********************** Welcome to another one of my FAQs. This one is on another game without one: Family Feud. It seems that it was only released in the US, so very few may need this - considering how easy this is. However, for completion's sake for DS FAQs, I will write this. Regrettably, this may be my worst guide yet, but you will likely find this useful. Enjoy. 2. Start-up********************************************F2******************** When you start up the game, you are to make and customize a player. This avatar that you make will represent you in the family. Take careful note on the name - that name is the family/last name. For example, say you are Bob Jones. If you put "Bob" as the name, you would be the Bobs, Bobs being the last name. If you put "Jones" as the name, you would be the Jones. So be careful and put your last name if you wish to have it actually like the show. Afterwards, you'll be at this menu: Change Player Customize Player Classic Mode Multiplayer Mode Game Options Well, that's the gist of it. Anyways, each has its own section. For Classic, go to section 3; multiplayer is in section 4; customization is in section 5; changing is in section 6; options are in section 7. 3. Single Player********************************************F3*************** During Classic (also referred to as Single Player), you play a Family Feud game against the AI. There are 12 matches, and you must do them in order. As in appearance on-screen (with labels): _______________________ _______________________ _______________________ | Game #1 | | Game #2 | | Game #3 | | | | | | | | Opponent AI: | | Opponent AI: | | Opponent AI: | | The Andersons | | The Coopers | | The Sanders | | | | | | | |_______________________| |_______________________| |_______________________| _______________________ _______________________ _______________________ | Game #4 | | Game #5 | | Game #6 | | | | | | | | Opponent AI: | | Opponent AI: | | Opponent AI: | | The Cooks | | The Jones | | The Martins | | | | | | | |_______________________| |_______________________| |_______________________| _______________________ _______________________ _______________________ | Game #7 | | Game #8 | | Game #9 | | | | | | | | Opponent AI: | | Opponent AI: | | Opponent AI: | | The Yangs | | The Williams | | The Morales | | | | | | | |_______________________| |_______________________| |_______________________| _______________________ _______________________ _______________________ | Game #10 | | Game #11 | | Game #12 | | | | | | | | Opponent AI: | | Opponent AI: | | Opponent AI: | | The Harpers | | The Webers | | The Bakers | | | | | | | |_______________________| |_______________________| |_______________________| As you can see, only #1 is white; the others are gray. This is because the gray ones haven't been unlocked. But how do you unlock them? To unlock Game #2, beat Game #1. To unlock Game #3, beat Game #2. In other words, beat the game before the locked one to unlock it. After selecting an opponent (at start, Game #1: The Andersons) by tapping it and selecting "Next." You'll then go through a bit of an introduction between the two families... and we begin. The basic flowchart of Classic mode matches. These will be covered in the following paragraphs: I- Round 1 A) Speed Round B) The Round II- Round 2 A) Speed Round B) The Round III- Round 3 A) Speed Round B) The Round IV- Round 4 A) Speed Round B) The Round V- Sudden Death (if needed) VI- Fast Money (if win) At the start is a speed round. During this, you attempt to think of an answer and tap the buzzer and type in the answer as fast as possible. Example: If the question is "What is the most unused letter in the English alphabet?", you'd quickly think of an answer. It is likely you'd think of Q, Z, or X. You'd then tap the buzzer and tap the appropriate key(s) in 15 seconds to say your answer. If correct, the opponent will get a chance UNLESS your answer was the #1 answer. Whoever gets the highest-ranking answer will choose whether their family will play the round, or will pass and let you play. However, I have seen that if neither person in this part of the round gets a correct answer within two tries, the round restarts, but someone else is up there, but it is still round 1/2/3/4, depending on which round this incident occurred in. Afterwards, you play/pass. If you pass, watch the other family play until they get 3 strikes and you steal, or they answer all of the answers correctly. If you steal, you try to get a correct answer THAT IS NOT UP THERE. If you do, you receive all of the points for that round EXCEPT those that you stole. Example: 67 points have been earned. You steal successfully, and yours is worth 3 points. You would earn 67, not 67+3 (70), points. Should you play, you type answers you believe that would possible answers to the survey. To type them in, tap the appropriate key(s) on the keyboard on the Touch Screen. If an answer is correct, points are awarded and play passes to the next family member. If it is incorrect, you get a strike and play passes to the next family member. If you take longer than 15 seconds to answer, you still get a strike and play passes to the next player. If you get three strikes, the other family can steal. If their answer is correct, they have stolen the points and you get none. If their answer is incorrect, you keep the points. At the end, the other answer(s) are shown and their values (if any answers are left) and the next round starts. There is another speed round, then round 2, which is like round 1. Then another speed round, then round 3. Take note of this: in round 3, points are doubled (2x). Then ANOTHER speed round, the round 4. Take note: points in round 4 are tripled (3x). If neither family reaches 300 points, a sudden death match occurs. It is a speed round. The points are still tripled, like round 4. There is only one answer: the #1 answer. You will attempt to hit the buzzer and answer this, and you might get the answer. If you do, then you advance to the Fast Money round, but you might not answer correctly. If you don't, the other person gets a turn to answer. If correct, he/she gets the points. If not, another sudden death match will start. This cycle can and will continue on until either family gets 300 points. At this point, all rounds and sudden deaths (if needed) are done, and someone has gotten 300+ points. If you didn't get the 300, you must restart this round. If you did, you advance to the Fast Money round. During the Fast Money round, you have 60 seconds to answer five survey questions (which also appear in the rounds!). That is 12 seconds per question, if you want the same per question. The first question is asked, then you answer. The second, third, fourth, and fifth are answered. You can also pass the question and come to it later. By the end of the 60 seconds, the points for your answers are revealed, and if you hit 200 points total, you gain an in-game $20,000. It is IN-GAME, not real-life, okay? If you didn't hit 200, you try again, re-answering the questions and seeing their values. If the values together equal 200, you still get the IN-GAME $20,000. If not, you earn 5x the normal points translated as dollars. In the following list, I will put the value of points as they equal dollars: *List produced by Microsoft Excel* 1 point = $ 5 2 points = $ 10 3 points = $ 15 4 points = $ 20 5 points = $ 25 6 points = $ 30 7 points = $ 35 8 points = $ 40 9 points = $ 45 10 points = $ 50 11 points = $ 55 12 points = $ 60 13 points = $ 65 14 points = $ 70 15 points = $ 75 16 points = $ 80 17 points = $ 85 18 points = $ 90 19 points = $ 95 20 points = $100 21 points = $105 22 points = $110 23 points = $115 24 points = $120 25 points = $125 26 points = $130 27 points = $135 28 points = $140 29 points = $145 30 points = $150 31 points = $155 32 points = $160 33 points = $165 34 points = $170 35 points = $175 36 points = $180 37 points = $185 38 points = $190 39 points = $195 40 points = $200 41 points = $205 42 points = $210 43 points = $215 44 points = $220 45 points = $225 46 points = $230 47 points = $235 48 points = $240 49 points = $245 50 points = $250 51 points = $255 52 points = $260 53 points = $265 54 points = $270 55 points = $275 56 points = $280 57 points = $285 58 points = $290 59 points = $295 60 points = $300 61 points = $305 62 points = $310 63 points = $315 64 points = $320 65 points = $325 66 points = $330 67 points = $335 68 points = $340 69 points = $345 70 points = $350 71 points = $355 72 points = $360 73 points = $365 74 points = $370 75 points = $375 76 points = $380 77 points = $385 78 points = $390 79 points = $395 80 points = $400 81 points = $405 82 points = $410 83 points = $415 84 points = $420 85 points = $425 86 points = $430 87 points = $435 88 points = $440 89 points = $445 90 points = $450 91 points = $455 92 points = $460 93 points = $465 94 points = $470 95 points = $475 96 points = $480 97 points = $485 98 points = $490 99 points = $495 100 points = $500 101 points = $505 102 points = $510 103 points = $515 104 points = $520 105 points = $525 106 points = $530 107 points = $535 108 points = $540 109 points = $545 110 points = $550 111 points = $555 112 points = $560 113 points = $565 114 points = $570 115 points = $575 116 points = $580 117 points = $585 118 points = $590 119 points = $595 120 points = $600 121 points = $605 122 points = $610 123 points = $615 124 points = $620 125 points = $625 126 points = $630 127 points = $635 128 points = $640 129 points = $645 130 points = $650 131 points = $655 132 points = $660 133 points = $665 134 points = $670 135 points = $675 136 points = $680 137 points = $685 138 points = $690 139 points = $695 140 points = $700 141 points = $705 142 points = $710 143 points = $715 144 points = $720 145 points = $725 146 points = $730 147 points = $735 148 points = $740 149 points = $745 150 points = $750 151 points = $755 152 points = $760 153 points = $765 154 points = $770 155 points = $775 156 points = $780 157 points = $785 158 points = $790 159 points = $795 160 points = $800 161 points = $805 162 points = $810 163 points = $815 164 points = $820 165 points = $825 166 points = $830 167 points = $835 168 points = $840 169 points = $845 170 points = $850 171 points = $855 172 points = $860 173 points = $865 174 points = $870 175 points = $875 176 points = $880 177 points = $885 178 points = $890 179 points = $895 180 points = $900 181 points = $905 182 points = $910 183 points = $915 184 points = $920 185 points = $925 186 points = $930 187 points = $935 188 points = $940 189 points = $945 190 points = $950 191 points = $955 192 points = $960 193 points = $965 194 points = $970 195 points = $975 196 points = $980 197 points = $985 198 points = $990 199 points = $995 You know what 200 points means - $20,000. After winning, you'll unlock the next game (unless winning #12, which is the final one) and two unlockables - a new head and clothing. These vary depending on game # and the profile thats being used gender. Check section 8 for these unlockables. 4. Multiplayer********************************************F4***************** At the main screen, tap Multiplayer. For this, you need one DS and two people. The basic game is the same as Classic. There is one change, though. During the Speed Round, P1 holds the left half of the DS while P2 holds the right half of it. To answer ("hit" the buzzer), P1 needs to press L and P2 needs to press R. Afterwards, play is the same. The better answer chooses pass/play, and that person will play. Three strikes and the other person gets the DS. By the Fast Money round, only one person (the winner) should be holding the DS. Other than the Speed Rounds, gameplay is virtually the same as 1-P mode. 5. Customizing Player********************************************F5********** This allows you to change the current profile's hair style, body, attitude, and name. After creating a profile, you cannot change gender/head. If this is marked with a star, then new content is available here. This new content is unlocked by playing Classic mode. To see which is unlocked and when, see section 8. 6. Changing Player********************************************F6************* This allows you to change the current profile or make a new one. To change, tap the one you want and hit "Back" and the game will save. To create a new profile, tap a blank profile and tap "Create." Then, like when you started, you can choose the head, gender, etc. You cannot create a new profile if you have four profiles, however. 7. Options********************************************F7********************* Audio - Affects volume of game. Is also relative to DS volume. Speech - Either affects how much talking/how loud it is.
