Welcome to my guide of Donkey Kong Jungle Climber. I'm Trixter, and I'll
be your guide today.
To sum it up: this guide will show you the controls and basics of this
game, as well as the complete Walkthrough have how to get through the
game. It will also show all collections, such as the DK Coins, and all
the mini-games.

Movement in Jungle Climber is a bit different than a lot of other games. First
thing to remember is that most of the game is played in air, so there's
limited ground movement.
First, you move left and right by pressing the L and R to move left and
right respectively. If you prefer, you can also use the left and right
wings on the control pad to move left and right. Press Up or Down to scroll
down the screen, moving the camera.
If you hold L and R simotaneously, then release, you'll jump. A perhaps
easier way is pressing A. However, if you press A, you'll do an attack.
If you're in midair while pressing A, you can't grab on until you fall.
But if you use L and R, you can't use Diddy's Attack.
The main key of the game are the swinging. You can grab on to a peg by
jumping and pressing Left or Right. It changes which hand. You automatically
swing if you grab on with one hand. From there you can attack, or release
with good timing.
If you grab on with the other hand, your swinging halts. You can move quickly
by grabbing with one hand, other, than alternating. As an alternate, you can
press Y or B to also attack.
There are many power-ups you can find in-game.
Banana Coins: These are small coins, with a banana on them. They're pretty
hard to get. Collect enough for a surprise.
DK Coins: These are bigger coins with a huge DK planted on it. Collect enough
to unlock cheats.
Bananas: Collect one hundred of these to get an extra life
Gems: Collect one hundred of these to get an invincible power-up. You touch
a symbol at the bottom of the screen, and you fly. Use left and right
to control where you fly.
Oil Barrels: Collect all of these on one world to unlock a bonus mini
island.
Diddy Kong Barrel: Touch this barrel to have Diddy Kong assist you. If you
touch an enemy, you lose him instead of a life. You can
use the Diddy Attack by after attacking, pressing A
again. Many power-ups are exclusive to him.
Hammer: Diddy Kong can pick up a hammer that swings around, destroying
anything in it's sight.
Pebble: Press left or right grab to grab a pebble, release to throw it.

/World 1-1 \ The first level would obviously be a tutorial.
( - the beginning ) Before you actually begin, you start with the
\ Cranky's Teachin's / beginning cut-scene.

You're on vacation at Sun Sun Island, when you
notice you start to get awful hungry. You notice a huge banana at the top of
Sun Sun Island, so let's go.
Cranky decides to teach you before you head off on the perilous journey. He
explains that you move using L and R, or the Control Pad. Jump by holding
down both L and R, then releasing. Another jump is by pressing A, which
allows you to defeat certain enemies and smash barrels.
Here you must now collect six bananas. Jump either way to get the first
four in sight. The final two are in the barrels, so smash them with the
attacking jump. (the A jump) After that, go to the red arrow.
After that, Cranky sets up a new mini-game. You must jump
over the barrels by using A, or L and R. Here's a trick - ################
you can 'drift' to the left or right by using the L/R jump, Mini-Game Alert!
then pressing the direction you want to drift to. ################
Your goal is to jump over eight barrels or more. Each barrel gives you ten
points, but it doubles if you jump over another barrel in the same jump. Not
too hard.
After that, it's time for a new mini-game. Cranky mentions you
can grab pegs by pressing L or R. The new mini-game requires ################
you to grab bananas from a back Donkey Kong view. Mini-Game Alert!
################
This is actually a really tough mini-game. There are normal
bananas, banana bunches (worth 5), and rainbow bananas. If you grab that one,
it bounces up, and the next time you grab it, you fet double. This requires
quick relfexes, so it may take a few times.
After, Cranky goes back to the pegs. If you grab one with only one hand, you
start swinging. Grab with both to stop, and then you release to propel
yourself.
Here, is another challenge. You must jump and grab, and swing collecting
the bananas to the goal. Once you get the hang of this, it's easy. This is
the core of Donkey Kong Jungle Climber, so get used to the pegs.
He teaches you now an easier way to maneuver around. Grab one peg, then
the other, release to swing, and then grab the other. You'll move around with
much ease.
Now on the next challenge, you must do exactly that. Collect all the bananas,
then go to the red arrow. Time for the next mini-game!
Here you must beat Diddy in a straight forward up and down #################
wide peg sheet. This is simple. There are two easy methods Mini-Game Alert!
- using the new trick, or releasing upward, grab, repeat. #################
This is easier than the last game. Now, after that - he'll teach you how to
attack from pegs. Simply press A. You can swing, then release with great
timing. Hold L and R after to automatically grab a peg.
Here, jump to the two pegs, grab on with both hands. Attack to smash the
barrels and defeat the enemy, and press L and R to grab. Swing upwards to
grab the banana barrel to the left, then leave.
After that - time for the best, most awsome secret. Gather one hundred gems
to soar like a bird. First, hit the box, and grab all the gems. Touch the
star on the screen, and you'll soar.
Use left and right to aim - you fly, and you're invincible. Follow the banana
trail. Then, hit the next box for more, then fly up and get the final bananas,
then leave.
Time for the final test. Go right and grab the bananas. Swing right, and
grab the bananas on the cliff. Go left now, then swing up with the banans,
go left and smash the barrel. Go up, grab the banana bunch, then finish
through the DK Post.
