Introduction ------------------------------------------------------- Mission Mode is the third selectable form of play after Free Play and Stamp. Mission Mode differs from the other modes in that there are 30 different missions spanning 25 different games. Instead of simply winning, you must win the mission in a certain way. Mission Mode is the hardest of the three modes by a wide margin, and each of the missions will probably take a lot of tries. This guide will hopefully make the missions easier for you to complete. I've included tips and strategies that helped me beat the missions. No matter what the mission, just keep in mind that each mission comes down to a mix of luck and skill and to keep trying, because the best answer to several is to just try and try again. All missions are doable, no matter how difficult or annoying they may seem. ------------------------------------------------------- II. Mission Mode Strategies ------------------------------------------------------- 1. I Doubt It 5 Calls You need to call five cheaters without missing one. If you miss one, you fail. Now, this may seem unreasonable unless your a psychic, until you learn the trick. When you know what to do, it's incredibly easy. What you need to do is purposely cheat. The computer will call it, and you'll get all cards sent to your hand. Keep doing this until you have a lot, so that when it comes time for the CPU to play a number that you already have all four of, you know that they're cheating, and you can call it. Just do this five times and you win. 2. Memory 3 Minutes This is one of the easier missions. You just have to find the pairs. This isn't hard and all and should be one of the easier ones to do. Might take you one or two tries at the most. Just work fast. 3. Spit 90 Seconds Like Memory, an easy mission that really needs no explanation. Just try to play your cards quickly and you'll get it done within the 90 second limit within a few tries. 4. Blackjack 500 Chips This all comes down to instinct and knowing when to make a bet. when you're sure you have a good hand, like 20 or 21, then bet the maximum. If you're really confident, bet the max amount and Double Down, which will net you 400 chips at once. This basically comes down to a little luck and knowing now when to bet, but if you can get your calls right, then 500 chips should be a breeze. 5. President 1st Place Not a hard mission, as all you have to do is come in first place. In President, a strong start takes you a long way, so if you win the first round, then you have an advantage for the second round, and so on. So you need to try and win one or both of the first two rounds to get a simple win here, because then you'll get a card advantage. 6. Rummy Go Rummy The Rummy mission is more patience than anything. You basically need to keep drawing so that you play your whole hand at once. Thus, it's easily possible, you just need to be patient and pick cards to get Groups and Runs. Also, it doesn't count as Going Rummy if you discard a card, so ALL of your cards have to be going into Groups and Runs. 7. Hearts Shoot the Moon Jumping from the easiest group of missions to this one... Hearts can be a serious pain, as you have to win tricks to get all of the Hearts cards AND the Queen of Spades... 13 cards you have to get. One higher card from your opponent can screw it up. This is an annoying mission, but it's possible. Just prepare for a lot of annoyance. The best idea, get rid of low cards (2, 3, 4) at the swapping part at the beginning of the games, so you'll get higher cards like Ace, King, Queen, etc, to take the tricks you need. Play high cards when you think one of the CPUs will break, or play the first Hearts (unless you break yourself). When you start, play the highest heart cards you have. If a CPU has a Ace/King/Queen of Hearts, then play non-Hearts if you're leading off to try and grab it so they won't foil you getting Hearts. Save your lower numbered Hearts for when the opponents have run out of Hearts and won't be able to play a higher one. This is a mission that requires some skill and a lot of luck, you just need to get a good hand and know what cards to play. 8. Nap Misere Pretty self-explanatory here. Just avoid taking tricks. Mostly luck here, as you have to play lower cards than your opponents. So if you get a good hand, this should be a very simple mission. It's easier than the previous mission by far. this one is 90% luck, so you just need to try until you get a good hand. 9. Spades Nil Pretty much the same as Nap. It doesn't count as a trick for you if your partner wins, so let your partner take the tricks and not you. 10. Chinese Checkers 7-Jump You basically need to move your pieces strategically. You'll probably end up getting the 7-jump by accident rather than purpose, so just carefully move your pieces. And check all of them to see how many they can get. Also, make sure you check carefully, because some pieces you'll estimate to be high number jumps will actually be lower. I got this one by accident, so, you might need to just do this over and over again. A 7-jump will take you pretty much from one side of the board to the other, so it's a pretty big jump. 11. Checkers 10-Piece Win This mission is pretty hard, and it took me a LOT of tries to do this. There's no real specific strategy here, just play smart and avoid putting your pieces in a position to get captured. If you can get your pieces to be Kinged, that will help a lot. This one is not easy, but the only real advice is just general Checkers advice, and to be very careful of where you place your pieces. Do not sacrifice a piece to jump one of your opponent's pieces. That may work in a regular game, but not this one. 12. Turncoat All Corners This mission is pretty simple if you know what to do. Basically, just keep placing your pieces so that your opponent will have to put pieces in the squares diagonal to the corners. So just keep placing your pieces anywhere until the CPU puts their pieces in the right place, and you can just drop it into the corner. Fairly easy. 13. Turncoat Lose All The second turncoat mission is harder than the first one. In this mission, you need to lose all your pieces as opposed to winning all of your opponents. You need to place the pieces so that your opponent can take them easily. Like many others, this mission may just come down to repetitions. It might take you a few tries, but is not one of the harder missions. 14. Hasami Shogi Perfect Win I thought that this would be impossible since I hardly ever win against the computer without worrying about a perfect win, but I found a strategy that worked. It takes time but it's safe. It just comes down to manipulating the CPU. First, move your pieces a little bit to get your opponent's pieces out, maybe grab an easy opponent's piece. Now, move your pieces back to where they started. Only move your corner pieces (or pieces you know won't get caught) back and forth over and over again. Now, when your opponent puts two pieces one space away from each other horizontally. Move your piece between them, so it won't be captured. Now, you have a clear opportunity to grab one of the pieces. Then move your pieces back to the bottom and continue. There's very little risk here, and it's the best way to go about this, since trying to play normally and win is VERY hard, I've only captured about 3-4 pieces at the most playing normally. 15. Backgammon Backgammon Win Oh man, here we go. One of the most annoying missions in the game, and the last one I beat. Because you're against the CPU, expect overly lucky dice rolls. Above all, make sure that you don't leave any of your pieces isolated to get captured. Remember that there's an Undo button, so don't forget to use it. Try to get your pieces into the Home Board quickly, and make sure to stack two or more in all of the different slots on the board. Try to get your opponent's pieces jumped or put in the first slot. When I beat this, the CPU had four pieces in the first slot on my homeboard, and I had the other five slots filled, so the CPU wasn't able to move the pieces on the home board, only the other ones. Eventually the CPU was able to move, but luckily it focused on moving the same pieces instead of all the pieces, so I was able to move the last piece into the goal with two of the CPU's pieces left on my Home Board. If there was a mission that came down to trying again and again until you get favorable circumstances, this is it. Don't be afraid to start over if you find yourself getting Dance several times in a row, or your pieces are getting jumped on your opponent's second turn. There's no other real advice to give here other than to try and try again. If you have trouble, you're not alone, this is a hard mission. 16. Field Tactics Win With Spy This is another one that ends up being very hard unless you have a strategy. Now, the Spy is very weak, so you can't just send it out and kill things. What you can do is send out your Tanks, Airplanes and 2nd and 3rd Generals, which will demolish pretty much everything on your opponent's field, but they'll always get killed by your opponent's General. So when you believe you've found it, send in your Spy, which will take out their General to win. 17. Soda Shake 5 Seconds All you have to do is shake the bottle really fast. This doesn't even need a strategy. Alright, fine. Uh, let's see... put the stylus over the bottle, and quickly move the stylus across the touch screen as fast as you can and let go so that the cork pops off the bottle before the five second mark. Just don't wait until it actually says five seconds, let it go around 4.30 seconds. 18. Dominoes 20 Points This is another mission that comes down to trying it again and again. Basically, just take every step you can to get points and make sure that the amount ends up in multiples of 5. Sometimes you'll get dealt a bad hand, so you just need to keep going until you get a good one. This is a real luck mission, just keep trying until you get a lot of good pieces and a lot of good situations to get more points. 19. Koi-Koi 150 Points If you don't know the cards that well, which I doubt that many people playing Clubhouse Games do, then you just need to try to get a goal in mind. When I tried it, what I tried here is going for the Five Lights (check the rules for which cads they are), or as many of them as possible They will produce the most points for you, so always go for them. If you see one on the field, grab it as soon as you can. Also, if you grab one, and there's no other Lights available, try to take other cards matching that one (Blossoms with Blossom, Moon with Moon, etc). You don't really have to memorize the cards for that, you should be able to tell by the cards having blossoms or a moon and so on. And go with the title of the game, and Koi-Koi! It's taking a risk each time, but it's the way to get a lot of points, and it's necessary to get the kind of points required here. This is another one that's a lot of luck. Don't be afraid to keep starting over until you get a 16-20 point win in the first round. And if you get somewhere around 135-150, then call when you win, don't risk if if you're sure you could win by just calling, because the worst thing that can happen is losing points. 20. Word Balloon Clear 3 Words This mission is a very tough one. You only get 10 balloons for three words, so obviously, there's very little margin for error... you can only afford to lose three per round. So be careful when you're choosing letters. There's not really many tips here, but to try until you win. 21. Takeover All Boxes One of the simpler missions, you only need to get all the boxes. Just use the puck to knock the other pucks off the stage once all the boxes are captured by one of the players. Don't start knocking pieces off the edge until you're almost close to getting all the boxes, because that'll prompt the CPU players to knock your pieces off earlier. 22. Balance 20-Stack This one is more about skill than more others. It's not overly difficult, since you're free to place the blocks wherever you want, so you should be able to handle this as long as you place the blocks well. 23. Balance 10-Stack This one's harder than the previous mission. You only need 10 blocks, but they need to be stacked vertically. The key here is to be CAREFUL. Do it slowly and don't rush yourself. Just slowly take the blocks and stack them, and try to get them straight above each other and not slightly to the left or right, especially the bottom ones. 24. Bowling 3 Strikes You need to get three strikes. This is kind of hard to do. One way you could do this is use a ruler to throw the ball straight down the middle. Just use plenty of force when you do so you'll be able to knock down all of the pins. 25. Bowling 1 Pin x 5 You have to hit one pin, which sounds simple, but when you're playing, isn't. One simple strategy is to use a ruler to line up your shots, so you'll hit the ball accurately. Even with this strategy, it sometimes gets difficult, as no matter what, there's still a possibility it'll go off-course and miss. But using a straight edge is lot easier than just tossing the ball, which will cause you a lot of frustration, so using a ruler or other straight edge is most likely the strategy to go with here. 26. Darts 200 Points You have to get 200 points, so, you just need to try the best you can to get the points. Just aim for the bullseye or triple ring scores. No other real advice here, as this is an action game that depends more on skill. 27. Darts 3 Bulls-Eyes This one is harder, you have to hit three bullseyes. Luckily, unlike the bowling mission where you have to get three strikes, you get 10 chances, but it's still a fairly hard mission. Just keep track of how you were aiming and where it goes to gauge where and how you need to throw your next dart. 28. Billiards 1 Shot (2 Balls) This should only take a few tries. Just aim the 1 ball in such a way that it also knocks the 2 ball in. This is mostly picking the right angle and using the right strength, so you may need to try a few times until you can get the right shot. 29. Billiards 1 Shot (3 Balls) This one is hard. You have to knock THREE balls in, This is one of the harder missions in the game, and I'm still not too sure how I pulled it off. The strategy I used was aiming a little to the right of the 1 ball, just enough to graze it, and have enough force to bounce off and knock in the other two balls. This took me tons of tries, and I was surprised I finally managed it, so don't be discouraged if you can't get it easily. 30. Mahjong Solitaire 3 Minutes Not sure what to say for this one, it took me a lot of tries, and I did this along with Mahjong Solitaire on Hard Stamp Mode so I could finish both and not have to deal with Mahjong Solitaire again. This is pretty hard, but the best I can say is just try to be fast. Use the hints as needed. Don't try to play without them, because then you'll end up wasting time trying to find matches; and don't use them too much, because it'll slow you down to keep checking the hints. Use them, but try to memorize as much as you can from one hint and find some on your own at the same time. Congratulations, you've cleared the 30 missions (hopefully). Enjoy your new icons, your clear Mission Mode prize and take pride in the fact that you were able to do it. And be glad there was no Ludo mission. ------------------------------------------------------- III.
