You play as the pilot of a robot named Bangai-O, and your mission is... okay, there's not really a mission. Basically, if you see something, shoot it. _____________ B. - Controls _____________ D-Pad - Move Bangai-O - Set direction of attacks - Tap Left/Right twice on the ground to dash on the ground. About Edit Mode: Edit Mode allows you to add or remove anything in the stage or change your health and EX gauges. If you use this during a stage, your score and time won't be recorded, and you won't be able to save a replay. About Slow Mode: By holding the Start button, Slow mode will be activated. Pressing Start again moves the game forward one frame at a time, allowing you to precisely run through the stage. Your score and time won't be recorded, but you can save a replay of the run. ____________ C. - Weapons ____________ There are three attacks to choose from: boosting, normal shots, and EX shots. Boost: By holding the A button, Bangai-O will boost forward. This boost can be used to damage anything Bangai-O comes into contact with. Useful for destroying background items (except for mini mines). Normal shots: By pressing the X, Y, or B buttons, Bangai-O will use a normal attack. Two weapons can be equipped at the start of a stage. The weapons can be MIX'ed together to combine their effects when possible. At the beginning of a stage, weapons will automatically be MIX'ed. MIX can be turned on or off by simultaneously pressing X+B or Y+B. There are 7 types of normal weapons: Homing: Shots move towards any nearby enemies. Good for large areas. Bounce: Shots bounce off of walls. They will bounce towards nearby enemies whenever possible. Useful in narrow areas. Napalm: Shots explode on impact, damaging nearby enemies. Good for sword enemies. Break: Shots absorb incoming projectiles and continue on their path. Sword: Melee attack that destroys all shots and pushes most enemies back. Does not stop other melee attacks. Moves Bangai-O forward with each use. Cannot be MIX'ed with other weapons. Bat: Just like sword, only shots are reflected and there's a delay between hits, leaving you vulnerable to attacks. Cannot be MIX'ed with other weapons. Shield: A shield will block attack from one direction. By default, the shield will block in the direction Bangai-O is moving. To fix the shield in one spot, press the fire button while holding the D-Pad in the direction you want it in. Press B on its own to reset the shield to block in front again. Cannot be MIX'ed with other weapons. EX Attack: By pressing the L or R buttons, Bangai-O will unleash an EX attack, launching multiple missiles. Holding the button will charge the attack and launch omre missiles. By default, the missiles will launch in a circle, but the direction can be chaged using the D-Pad. Like normal weapons, EX weapons can be MIX'ed. There are 7 types of EX weapons: Homing/Bounce/Napalm/Break: Same as their normal versions. Direct: Missiles spread out, then attack the closest enemy. Reflect: All nearby boxes and enemies are thrown backwards or in the direction you set with the D-Pad. Does not have to be charged and cannot be MIX'ed with other EX weapons. Freeze: Unlike any other weapon, this EX attack does not directly harm enemies. Instead, the entire field freezes for a set time depending on how long you charge the attack. Without a counterattack, a max of 3 seconds of freeze time is possible, but a counterattack can make it at least 4 seconds. Cannot be MIX'ed with other EX weapons. Counterattacking: The maximum amount of missiles that can be launches is 100. However, the attack power of the missiles can increase by launching a charged EX attack when enemy projectiles are nearby. This process, called counter attacking, can produce 50-100 missiles at 2, 3, or even 4 times their original size! unfortunately, this causes the game to lag, and not all of the shots will appear on the screen. ____________ D. - Enemies ____________ There's a wide variety of enemies for Bangai-O to destroy. _____________ Balls & Boxes _____________ Note that boxes cannot change in size for Edit Mode. Ball - An average sports ball. At half size, it's a baseball. At normal size, a soccer ball. At 2x size, a basketball. They can't be destroyed (I think...), but they can be smashed into enemies. Wood Box - An average box. It usually contains a fruit inside it. It takes 2 hits to destroy it (VERY important in a few stages). Rock Box - Same as a Wood Box, but it can't be destroyed. Life 1 / Life 2 - A box with a + on it. Life 1 (blue) gives you some health back, while Life 2 (yellow) completly restores it. Box / Box Frame - A metal box that can be pushed using boost. Sometimes a Box Frame is used as a target, meaning a Box needs to be pushed into it. Boxes will move one space at a time in the direction you boost into it (repeatedly tap a to continue to move it). Gate - Gates block Bangai-O from reaching parts of a stage. Destroy all of the enemies in the area indicated by the arrow to remove the gate. _____________ Bombs & Mines _____________ All bombs and mines (except the Mega Mine) can blow up in a chain when a nearby bomb or mine explodes. Bomb - Your average bomb. Hit it or shoot it to blow it up. Bomb Box - Same as a bomb, but in box form. Mine - Your average mine. Hit it or shoot it to blow it up. Air Mine - Same as the Mine, but bigger AND it chases after you. Mega Mine - More of a spiked ball, really. It's big and takes a lot of hits to bring down. _______ Cannons _______ Cannons come in three varieties: Standard - shoots a single shot straight ahead. Heavy - Shoots multiple shots in a semi-circle. Firework - Shoots multiple shots in a circle. Cannons can shoot one of six shots: standard, homing, bounce, break, napalm, and laser. Here's a quick list of all of the cannons: Cannon Homing Cannon Bounce Cannon Break Cannon Napalm Cannon Laser Cannon Heavy Cannon Heavy Homing Cannon Heavy Bounce Cannon Heavy Break Cannon Heavy Napalm Cannon Heavy Laser Cannon Firework Cannon Firework Homing Cannon Firework Bounce Cannon Firework Break Cannon Firework Napalm Cannon Firework Laser Cannon ______________ Enemies & Bots ______________ These are the guys that shoot you on sight (Or whatever it is they do). Enemy - Your average enemy. Shoot it a few times to kill it. Homing Enemy - An Enemy that shoots homing shots. Bounce Enemy - An Enemy that shoots Bounce shots. Napalm Enemy - An Enemy that shoots Napalm shots. Break Enemy - An Enemy that shoots Break shots. Machine Gun Enemy - An Enemy that shoots multiple shots in a row. Ant - Your average ant. It just runs after you. Tank - a slow-moving machine that shoots napalm shots at you. Mech - A quick-moving machine that shoots lasers. Bat Bot - An Enemy that hits shots back to you. Ninja Bot - An Enemy that uses a sword to destroy your shots. Fast Bot - An Enemy that curls into a ball and runs into you. It is invulnerable when curled up. ______ Bosses ______ These are the (literal) big guns. At normal size they're bigger than most other enemies at 2x size. Big Bot - Take a Ninja Bot, make it bigger and slower, and make the sword reflect projectiles instead of destroying them, and you get Big Bot. The best strategy is to get behind it, then shoot it in the back while moving back and forth to keep it from turning around. Machine Gun Boss - A circular machine with 24 machine guns attached on the outside. Destroy the outer guns first for an easy kill. Cannon Boss - A large, moving cannon. You can get around it if you keep shooting at it. Drill Boss - A large machine with two homing drills for weapons. It has a heavy cannon on each side, making it tough to get around. It does turn pretty slowly, though. Longai-O - The most evil enemy in the entire game. Basically a clone of Bangai-O. Longai-O can boost, shoot multiple shots, AND counterattack with Homing missiles (causing the biggest lag the DS will probably ever see). I know of two ways to beat this guy: use an EX when he's dashing, or counterattack near him and hope for the best. Good luck, you'll need it. _____ Other _____ Core - The most likely target to appear on a stage. Unless you're right next to a Core, a shield surrounds it, reflecting any of your projectiles back at you. To destroy it, either boost into it or get close and use an EX attack. Spawner - A large blue box that can create any enemy (and I DO mean any enemy). In Edit Mode, you can set what comes out of the Spawner by dragging objects on top of it. Hut/Prefab/Builiding - Your average builiding. Hit it a few times to destroy it. __________ E. - Menus __________ Go to the respective mode in the FAQ for more info. Tutorial Mode Select a stage and GO! Free Play Name Entry (If you want to enter it, that is) Single Player Multiplayer -Either way, select a stage and weapons and GO! Bangai-O, any targets, and any background items appear in this area. B - Score: Your current score and your best scor for the current stage. C - Targets: The targets and their current health for the stage. D - Current: The most recent enemy that Bangai-O attacked and its current health. Bottom Screen: ______________________________________ |A B C D| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |______________________________________| A - Health/EX Gauges: Your health and EX amounts. The number next to your EX gauge represents how many charges you have left. You can increase your health by collecting items from Life boxes. Your EX gauge increases by collecting fruit or money dropped by enemies or by taking damage. B - Weapons: Your EX and normal weapons displayed as follows: L Weapon-Weapon R Y Weapon-Weapon B The weapon next to the particular button corresponds to the type of shot launched when that button is pressed. If a dash is between the two weapons, then they are MIXed. If a "F" appears between the normal weapons, your aim is fixed in that particular direction. If a "S" appears between the normal weapons, then Bangai-O is currently in a fixed spot. C - Bomb: The higher the number, the more explosions there are on the current stage. The maximum count is 400. D - Time: The amount of time spent on the current stage. Bangai-O will appear with a blue glow on the screen, and any targets will have a green circle surrounding them. _______________________ G. - Walkthrough Layout _______________________ Here's an example of how I present a stage in this FAQ: ______________ # - Stage Name ______________ Recommended Setting: The easiest weapons to finish the stage with. Map: If necessary, a map is displayed to show important details, such as a specific path to take in the Labyrinth levels. Targets: How many targets and what they are. These enemies must be defeated to complete the level. Strategy for the level. _______________________________________________________________________________ 2 - Tutorial Mode _______________________________________________________________________________ The first thing you should go to in the game, this mode has 17 stages to hone your skills as a Bangai-O pilot (if you want to hone them, that is). Since this isn't free play, you're limited on what weapons you can use. Unless otherwise mentioned, you're limited to Homing/Bounce on every level. __________________ 1 - Give it a Try! __________________ Targets: 1 T1: Cannon Get used to the controls in this stage. Once you're ready, move to the top half of the map and destroy the cannon. _______________ 2 - Using Shots _______________ Targets: 7 T1-T7: Cannon Here, you learn about using shots. By simply holding B (or Y or X), Bangai-O will automatically aim for the nearest enemy or projectile. Holding the D-Pad before shooting will fix your aim in a certain direction (notice the "F" that appears between the two normal weapons on the screen). To finish the stage, shoot down all 7 cannons. _______________ 3 - Fixed Shots _______________ Targets: 1 T1: Cannon To perform fixed shots, press the B button twice in quick succession to stand still and shoot in the direction you aim with the D-Pad (notice the "S" that appears between the two weapons). Approach the gap in the wall and fire diagonally through the gap, opening the bottom half of the wall and exposing the cannon. __________________ 4 - Using Boosters __________________ Targets: 8 T1-T2: Cannon T3-T4: Homing Cannon T5-T6: Bounce Cannon T7-T8: Napalm Cannon Use the A button to act as a boost, damaging anything you come into contact with. Note that you can still take damage though. You can either boost into or shoot at the cannons to clear the stage. Note that on cannon is NOT a target; only 8 targets can exist on a single stage. ___________________ 5 - Send 'Em Flying ___________________ Targets: 5 T1-T5: Cannon Boost can be used to knock balls or boxes in any direction. Any smaller enemies hit by the projectiles will also be sent flying. Launch any ball into the rows of boxes and Enemies to destroy the Cannons. ____________________ 6 - Using EX Weapons ____________________ Targets: 7 T1-T7: Spawner Hold down L or R to unleash an EX attack, launching multiple missiles. Destroy the top row of Spawners to clear the level. ____________________ 7 - Counterattacking ____________________ Targets: 7 T1-T7: Homing Ever seen a DS game lag before? Well here's you're chance. Hold L or R as soon as the map appears, then let go when the first missiles are just about to hit. Easy (and lagging) as that. __________________ 8 - MIXing Weapons __________________ Targets: 1 T1: Spawner Pressing Y+B, X+B, or L+R will MIX or un-MIX your weapons when possible. There are some combinations (such as Break-Napalm) that work better when un-MIXed, so it's a good idea to try anything and everything to clear a stage. shoot diagonally upward to bounce the shots into the Spawner and clear the stage. __________________ 9 - Break & Napalm __________________ Weapons: All Break/Napalm Targets: 3 T1-T3: Spawner Break shots break through enemy projectiles, and napalm shots explode on impact. As I mentioned, Break-Napalm is not a good MIX, so un-MIX them at the start of the stage. Use break shots to get past the Cannons, then use napalm to blast through the Ants and destroy the Spawners. _________________ 10 - Using Swords _________________ Weapons: EX: Homing/Bounce Normal: Bounce/Sword Targets: 1 T1: Machine Gun Enemy Swords destroy projectiles while moving forward. When not hitting anything, Bangai-O moves quite slow, but a constant barrage of shots will keep you going. Use the sword to blast through the Cannons and Enemies, then make your way to the target. _______________ 11 - Using Bats _______________ Weapons: EX: Homing/Bounce Normal: Bounce/Bat Targets: 7 T1: Enemy T2: Homing Enemy T3: Bounce Enemy T4: Napalm Enemy T5: Break Enemy T6: Bat Bot T7: Cannon Bats reflect any projectiles in range... not much else to say. Use the bat to hit the targets and clear the stage. __________________ 12 - Using Shields __________________ Weapons: EX: Homing/Bounce Normal: Sword/Shield Targets: 8 T1-T8: Cannon Shields block missiles from any one direction. Use any means (Sword, boost, or EX) to destroy the Cannons and clear the stage. ___________________ 13 - Direct Attacks ___________________ Weapons: EX: Break/Direct Normal: Homing/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Spawner Direct EX attacks aim towards the closest enemy. Two charged EX attacks are all you need to clear the stage. _____________ 14 - Freezing _____________ Weapons: EX: Bounce/Freeze Normal: Homing/Bounce Targets: 8 T1-T8: Enemy Freeze EX attacks stop everything for a few seconds. Use the time to blast away enemies. The 8 outer Enemies are the targets here. Use a combination of Freeze and Bounce to destroy them. _______________ 15 - Reflecting _______________ Weapons: EX: Bounce/Reflect Normal: Homing/Bounce Targets: 6 T1-T6: Heavy Cannon Reflect pushes all boxes and nearby small enemies away from Bangai-O (or in the direction indicated from the D-Pad). Charging has no effect on reflect. You only need two reflects to clear the stage: once to eliminate 5 Heavy Cannons, then a second time to destroy the surviving target. ________________ 16 - Use 'Em All ________________ Weapons: EX: Homing/Bounce Normal: Bat/Bounce Targets: 5 T1: Homing T2-T4: Spawner T5: Box Frame First, destroy the Homing Cannon and Huts to remove the first set of Gates. Then destroy the Spawners and the boxes they drop for the second set of Gates. Finally, push the Box into the Box Frame to clear the stage. ________________ 17 - Real Combat ________________ Weapons: EX: Freeze/Homing Normal: Sword/Bounce Targets: 2 T1: Machine Gun Enemy T2: Core The closest thing to a real shoot-em-up in the tutorial. First, use the sword to clear out the enemies and background objects before destroying the middle wall. Use the mini mines at the top of the map to blow up the bottom section of the wall. A combination of homing EX attacks and bounce missiles can destroy the Cannons and Enemies in the next section. For the last section, bounce shots off the top wall to attack the cannons, then use freeze attacks to take down the Machine Gun Enemy. Finally, destroy the Core to complete the Tutorial! _______________________________________________________________________________ 3 - Free Play Mode _______________________________________________________________________________ This mode allows you to try 167 different stages (and any custom stages you have) with any combination of weapons you want. For most of these, your best bet is having a break-bounce weapon and EX. Multiplayer Mode: You can tackle any stage with up to 3 others and either compete for the higher score or simple try to work your way through those tougher levels (Longai-O!!!!!!!). If you die you can press A to respawn right next your opponent/teammate, although you lose your score. There are two simple strategies that work for multiplayer: 1) One person waits in a safe spot while the other runs into the fray, uses their EX attacks, and kills whatever they can until they die, then respawn and repeat. 2) More of a team approach, one uses Freeze and Reflect EX attacks and a sword weapon while the other shoots ahead for support. ..at least, those work for 2 players. ____________________ A. - Treasure's Best ____________________ 27 stages that will test your skills as a pilot. _____________ 1 - Fireworks _____________ Targets: 4 T1-T4: Firework Homing Cannon Your best bet for this level is to counterattack your way to the targets. If they don't go down before you reach them, just keep shooting and using EX attacks until all the targets are gone. ____________ 2 - Bot Army ____________ Recommended Setting: Any Targets: 1 T1: Big Bot Just counterattack over and over until the Big Bot goes down. _____________________ 3 - Blue Sky Bangai-O _____________________ Recommended Setting: All Break/Bounce Targets: 7 T1: Machine Gun Enemy T2-T5: Core T6: Homing Enemy T7: Napalm Enemy Shoot and counterattack your way down until you have just the Cores left, then take out the Cores to complete the stage. ___________ 4 - Freedom ___________ Recommended Setting: All Bounce/Break Targets: 4 T1-T4: Mech Use Bounce shots to destroy the enemies on the lower half of the screen, then back the rest of the enemies into a corner and destroy them with EX attacks. _______________ 5 - Go! Go! Go! _______________ Recommended Setting: All Bounce/Break Targets: 2 T1: Cannon Boss T2: Core Boost into the Core to gain a (somewhat) safe area, then counterattack to take down the Cannon Boss. _________________ 6 - I'm Going In! _________________ Recommended Setting: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 7 T1-T7: Ninja Bot So easy: pelt the Ninja Bots with shots until they all fall down. _______________ 7 - Surrounded! _______________ Recommended Setting: Reflect EX is all you need. Targets: 6 T1-T6: Big Bot Drop to the bottom of the screen and Reflect the soccer balls into the Big Bots. Quite simple. ___________________ 8 - Just Go For it! ___________________ Recommended Setting: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Big Bot Just like I'm Going In!: bounce your shots off the top of the screen to hit the Big Bot from behind. Use EX attacks if he starts getting close. __________________ 9 - Bashing is Fun __________________ Recommended Setting: A Reflect EX is all you need. Targets: 8 T1: Box Frame T2-T7: Spawner Wait for the stage to fill up with Wood Boxes, then Reflect them all up into the Spawners, then simply push the Box into the Box Frame to clear the stage. _______________ 10 - Four Fuses _______________ Targets: 1 T1: Core The quickest way to the core is to destroy the second line of bombs from the bottom. Hit the line, wait for the wall to disappear, and destroy the core to clear the stage. _________________ 11 - Falling Rock _________________ Recommended Setting: Anything EXCEPT Napalm, Bat/Reflect, or Sword Map: ________ | #1P# | |#-OO##-#| |##O#OO##| |#-#O#O##| |OOOOOO#-| |O##-#---| |O###-#-#| |OOO#--#-| |-#OO#OO#| |#-##O#OO| |##-####O| |---OOOOO| __| |__ |___T1___| Targets: 1 T1: Core You have to slowly shoot your way down the stage. Shoot the Wood Boxes marked with O's to clear a path. When a metal Box is in the way, shoot diagonally to clear the box below. DO NOT BOOST!!! Otherwise your path will get blocked. _____________________ 12 - EX! Use That EX! _____________________ Recommended Setting: All Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core Bounce and counterattack your way through the stage to reach the Core. _________________ 13 - Wide Samurai _________________ Recommended Setting: EX: Bounce/Napalm Normal: Bounce/Break Targets: 5 T1-T5: Core Use normal shots to blast through the level and EX shots to remove the enemies in the last area. After you see a large Spawner, the path splits into two paths; ALWAYS take the lower path as the enemies are easier to defeat (Ants instead of Bat Bots, Fast Bots instead of Ninja Bots). ___________ 14 - Boost! ___________ Recommended Setting: EX: Break/Homing Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 3 T1-T3: Core First, boost dash right and destroy the T2 Core, then boost back and start the bomb chain. Now use EX attacks and boost dashes to take out the Heavy Cannons on the way to Core T3. Make sure you actually reach T3 BEFORE the metal Boxes fall! After you destroy the T3 Core, make a beeline back to T1. If you make it back before the second set of Boxes fall, wait for the wall to disappear and destroy Core T1 to clear the stage. ________________ 15 - Machine Map ________________ Targets: 8 T1-T8: Spawner First, take out the two Enemies in front of you, then Boost your way up and into the T8 Spawner. Next, work your way down and left to the T2 Spawner (an EX attack would be a good idea here). In the next area, take out the Laser Cannons and the T3 and T4 Spawners. At this point, two lines of bombs will be set off. You must QUICKLY take down the T1 Spawner before the Rock Boxes block off the path. There are two ways to accomplish this: 1) Unleash your EX attacks into the corridor and hope the target is destroyed. 2) Ignore the Laser Cannons and boost dash your way in. Either way, after the Rock Boxes drop you'll see 2 Fast Bots rush toward you with 2 more waiting in the next area along with 2 Bounce Enemies and 2 Firework Bounce Cannons. Take out all the enemiesthen destroy the remaining three Spawners to clear the stage. ______________ 16 - HURRY UP! ______________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Direct Normal: Napalm/Break Targets: 5 T1: Tank T2-T4: Core T5: Cannon Boss This is a race against time here. As the bombs move forward, the Rock Boxes will first open the path, then close it back up soon afterward. You have to make it through each chamber and destroy all the enemies in your path, all while keeping your health as high as possible. Chamber 1 has a Tank, chamber 2 has a Cannon Boss, chamber 3 has 4 Bounce Cannons, and the last chamber has two Ninja Bots, three Cores, and two Mega Mines waiting to drop onto you. Try to save your EX attacks for the Cannon Boss and the Ninja Bots. ________ 17 - MIP ________ Recommended Setting: EX: Break/Homing or Napalm Normal: Bounce/Break Targets: 8 T1: Core T2: Spawner T3-T4: Core T5: Machine Gun Boss T6: Spawner T7-T8: Fast Bot Simple in concept, tough in execution. Take out each floor of bombs to drop the Rock Boxes to the bottom of the stage while destroying each target along the way. Be quick, though, because the first group of mines eventually releases more enemies on each floor, and since some of these enemies are bosses, it's a good idea to be as quick as possible. Floor 1 has a Core guarded by 4 Heavy Cannons. Floor 2 is a Heavy Cannon Spawner guarded by 4 Cannons. Floors 3-5 are Cores guarded by Heavy Cannons, Homing Cannons, and a Machine Gun Boss as Floor 5's Target. Behind the Cores on Floor 5 are more mines. The bottom line clears the path to the final 3 targets - two Fast Bots and a Heavy Cannon Spawner - while the top line opens a path to another spawner. _________ 18 - MIP2 _________ Recommended Setting: EX: Bounce/Napalm Normal: Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Box Frame This is like a mirrored version MIP, only each Core has a line of bombs behind it that open the next area. Make your way down to the bottom floor and push the Box into the Box Frame to clear the level. Floor 1 is guarded by Cannons. Floor 2 contains a Drill Boss. Floor 3 has TWO Cores guarded by seven Heavy Bounce Cannons. Floor 4 has a Cannon Boss, and Floor 5 has a Machine Gun Boss. Floor 6 has a Heavy Cannon, a Firework Cannon, and four Firework Bounce Cannons. The final floor has four Heavy Homing Cannons, two Fast Bots, and a lot of Mines. As a side note, it is possible to destroy the bombs behind a Core without actually destroying the Core first. Also, if you get low on health, Floor 6 has a Life 1 Box Spawner. __________________ 19 - Just Fight It __________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 7 T1: Core T2-T5: Life 2 T6: Big Bot T7: Core Make sure you can counterattack well before you try this one. First, use two EX attacks to destroy the enemies in the first room, then take out the Core. Be quick, because if you accidentally set of the bombs, a Rock Box will eventually seal off the room from the rest of the stage. Once out of the room, Use EX attacks and counterattacks to destroy all the enemies and boxes in the stage (except the Big Bot). Once the stage is cleared of enemies, release the Big Bot and destroy it. The Gate in the corner should now open, allowing you to destroy the last Core to clear the stage. ________________ 20 - Gate Fetish ________________ Recommended Settings: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 4 T1: Big Bot T2-T3: Fast Bot T4: Firework Homing Cannon Five rows of Gates separate you from your targets, with each row guarded by more enemies than the last. Break open the Gates, then take out the targets. Row 1 has three Cannons, Row 2 has four Enemies, Row 3 has five Bounce Enemies, Row 4 has six Homing Enemies, and Row 5 has 13 Napalm Enemies. After the last row, there's a Life 2 Box to restore your health. ____________________ 21 - Watch Your Head ____________________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Bounce/Break Targets: 3 T1-T3: Ninja Bot Start the bomb chain, then simply shoot down any enemies in your way. Feel free to use EX attacks at will, as there are a ton of Wood Boxes in this level. Use Napalm EX on the Ninja Bots to kill them quickly. ______________ 22 - SPIRITS!! ______________ Recommended Settings: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 2 T1-T2: Core Start with the left side first. Use counterattacks to quickly clear the area out. Before taking out the Core, be sure to take out the Ninja Bot Spawner to avoid excess damage. Once the left side is clear, use angled Bounce shots to take out the Bat Bots and other enemies on the right side. If you have at least half your life bar full upon reaching the last corridor, simply dash straight to the Core. Otherwise, take out the Ninja Bots first. _______________ 23 - Nail Biter _______________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Homing Normal: Bounce/Break Targets: 7 T1-T6: Machine Gun Boss T7: Fast Bot As the bomb chain runs around the chain the targets will be revealed in the order of 4, 6, 3, 1, 5, 2 (all Machine Gun Bosses), and finally 7 (the large Fast Bot). Take out each one as its revealed to clear the stage. Counterattacks will make the job easier, and there are various Life 1 Boxes in the outer areas of the stage. _______________ 24 - Superhuge! _______________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Homing Normal: Bounce/Break Targets: 5 T1: Fast Bot T2: Homing Enemy T3: Ninja Bot T4: Napalm Bot T5: Bat Bot Think of this as Gate Fetish on a larger, horizontal scale. Each row of Gates is blocked by a huge boss enemy (except the first row - just a Wood Box in front of you). First is a Big Bot, then a Cannon Boss, then a Drill Boss, then a Machine Gun Boss, then finally the five targets. _________________ 25 - Black Angels _________________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 4 T1: Core T2: Big Bot T3-T4: Longai-O TWO Longai-O's... ugh. If you can time it right, a counterattack will kill them while they're dashing. Once they (somehow) go down, use EX attacks and Bounce shots to take down the Big Bot, then destroy the Core in the bottom right corner to clear the stage. ___________ 26 - YAMATO ___________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 2 T1-T2: Longai-O FIVE Longai-O's... and THREE are MASSIVE... If you're quick and lucky, you can take out the first Longai-O before the larger ones are released, then boost dash your way to the other target. It takes a few tries, but eventually you'll get it. ______________ 27 - The Earth ______________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 6 T1-T2: Longai-O T3: Big Bot T4: Fast Bot T5-T6: Ninja Bot All the targets (except the Big Bot) are massive, so be prepared. First, destroy as much of the "earth" as you can without destroying the Life 2 Box in the middle or causing the targets to move. Once most of the field is cleared up, slowly mov up one side of the screen until you notice a target rush toward you on the mini-map (either T1 or T2). The ones that move first are the Longai-O. Take them out with quick EX attacks during a dash at the bottom of the screen. Next, the Fast Bot and Ninja Bots should rush you. The Fast Bot dies easy enough - just keep shooting at it and it will take damage once it stops moving - and the Ninja Bots can die from a pseudo-two way attack; shoot Bounce shots into a wall behind the Ninja Bots, then attack them from the in front until they are hit from behind from the bounced shots, then keep attacking until they are gone. First, tap your Freeze EX before the stage actually starts to keep the mines from blowing up for a second, then dash (NOT boost dash!) in the direction of the arrows and destroy any boxes that block your path. Use ONLY TWO SHOTS, or else you'll blow up other mines. For the groups of three boxes, try not to move them too much or you might hit the large bombs. Make your way to the * and you'll be safe. As I stated above, DON'T use Napalm... ...unless you want the easy way out. It turns out that if you hit the first box with ONE Napalm shot, only the top row of bombs will explode, meaning you can quickly move up to avoid the lower blasts. Now you can wait for the target to blow up (or collect the fruits if you're going for a high score). ________________ 4 - Breakin' Out ________________ Recommended Setting: Anything Targets: 1 T1: Spawner Boost dash your way upward, using the wood boxes to push you way through the metal boxes. This is the hard part, and it seems to take a little luck to make your way up. Once through, simply destroy the spawner at the top to clear the stage. ________________ 5 - Move the Box ________________ Recommended Setting: A normal Bounce shot is all you need. Targets: 1 T1: Core Move both Boxes down, then aim down and right into the small opening and fire. Now just destroy the core. _____________ 8 - Play Ball _____________ Recommended Setting: Anything Targets: 1 T1: Prefab Boost dash into the baseball to launch it up and over the wall, then hope it hits the mines near the bombs below you. Otherwise, try again until it works. ________________ 9 - No Touching! ________________ Recommended Setting: Anything Targets: 1 T1: Core You have to boost dash through the ENTIRE level and follow the path set by the blue diamonds. Get to the core before the boxes drop to clear the stage. A good idea is to try this stage in Slow Mode a few times. You can either work on your timing while in Slow Mode or save a replay and then play it back and mimic the motions until your reflexes seem good enough. _______________ 10 - Cannon-ism _______________ Recommended Setting: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 4 T1-T4: Cannon Boss If your reflexes are good, two fully charged counter attacks are all you need. If you're quick enough, you'll pass the metal boxes before they fall and block the path. Now simply wait until the wall is destroyed and destroy the core. _________________ 15 - Puzzle Fever _________________ Recommended Setting: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 8 T1-T4: Life 2 T5-T8: Life 1 First, use an EX attacke of about 55-60 aimed up and left; this clears all the life boxes above you except T8. To destroy T8, line yourself up with where the Bomb Box was located above you and quickly boost dash down. Next you must release another EX attack (about 50) towards it in just the right spot. If you look at the background, you start out in front of an orange trangle shape with another orange half-triangle below it, then a triangle that's half black and half orange. You must shoot the second EX attack about when Bangai-O is lined up with the top of the orange portion of the lower full triangle. It might take a few tries, but it should work. After the second EX attack, boost dash down to destroy the last Life 2 Box, then unleash EX attacks towards the last Life Box to clear the stage. This technique doesn't always work, and I bet there's a better way to do this, but I know this works about 4 out of 10 times. ___________________ 16 - No Touching! 2 ___________________ Recommended Setting: Any Targets: 1 T1: Core Just like No Touching!, only this time you not forced to set off the bombs. A good idea Would be to start with stages 106-122, as these are the Tutorial stages, thus they're insanely easy to beat (well, #122 is still tough). ____________ 1 - The Face ____________ Recommended Setting: All Break/Bounce Targets: 3 T1-T3: Core First, bust your way across the stage to the T3 Core and destroy it, then work your way down to the T1 Core. Once T1 is destroyed, backtrack all the way back to your starting point, then work you way down to T2 and destroy the final Core. This path will keep you away from most of the enemies, including the massive Machine Gun Boss waiting at the bottom of the stage. __________ 2 - Sessyu __________ Targets: 3 T1-T3: Core The real issue with this level is the MASSIVE Machine Gun Boss that starts right by you. Start out by dashing towards the lower right corner. Use counterattacks to take out the Drill Boss, Mechs, and other enemies between you and the T2 Core. Now make you way right to reach the T1 Core guarded by Firework Cannons. Now you just have to take out the Machine Gun Boss in order to reach the last Core. The best plan would be to use the Machine Gun Enemies nearby to fuel a large counterattack at the enemy, taking it down in a few launches. Once the Boss is down, just take out the other Firework Cannons and destroy the T3 Core to end the stage. ________ 3 - Sabu ________ Recommended Setting: EX: Bounce/Napalm Normal: Bounce/Break Targets: 2 T1: Core First, take out the Air Mines and Mega Mines in front of you, then work on destroying the Mechs to the right using EX attacks. Now make your way upward and look for an opening to the other side of the wall. Pass through the opening and destroy the T1 Core. While you're there, it's a good idea to shoot through the small opening in the wall to take out the Fast Bots. Now make your way to the left side of the stage and take out the large Mega Mine and any other enemies in the way of the opening at the top of the stage. Once you have an opening, dash around to the T2 Core and destroy it to clear the stage. __________________ 4 - Space Messsage __________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core Remove the bomb chain, then shoot Bounce shots upward until it looks safe, then destroy the Core to complete the stage. __________________ 5 - Soccer Pyramid __________________ Recommended Setting: Any Targets: 8 T1-T8: Ninja Bot Just keep boost dashing right to hit the soccer balls into the Ninja Bots. Simple. ________________ 6 - Smash 'n See ________________ Recommended Settings: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 3 T1-T3: Big Bot First, take out the smaller Big Bots to the sides by shooting at a fixed position straight above them. From here, the Big Bot will take damage with every other slash of its sword. As for the large Big Bot, if the top row of Huts are still intact, you can stay to the side and shoot straight down; the shots will bounce into the Big Bot from behind and eventually kill it. ____________________ 7 - Three, Two, One! ____________________ Recommended Setting: All Break/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Core You must break you way through five rooms and reach the target Core before the bomb line releases the Rock Boxes to block your path. Use EX attacks and counterattacks to quickly clear out each room. ______________ 8 - T-Minus 10 ______________ Recommended Setting: All Break/Bounce Targets: 6 T1-T4: Machine Gun Enemy T5-T6: Core Same as Three, Two, One!, only the enemies are bigger, and there's only one room. Use EX attacks and counterattacks to destroy the enemies. Once the enemies are cleared away, destroy the two Cores before the Rock Boxes fall. ___________________ 9 - Push The Limits ___________________ Recommended Setting: Any, although a Reflect EX could help. Targets: 1 T1: Core After setting off the bomb chain, you have to boost dash through the columns of Boxes as they fall in each room. You need to be close enough to dash through befor the last Rock Boxes fall, but far enough away to keep from being killed by the bombs. Once through the last room, destroy the Machine Gun Enemies and Cores to clear the stage. ____________ 10 - 3BR APT ____________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 7 T1-T7: Drill Boss Start the first bomb chain and set up an EX attack. When the explosions surround you, release a counterattack to clear out the room quickly. Repeat this for each room to get through relatively unschathed. For the last room, counterattack until you run out of EX, then keep shooting until all the Drill Bosses are destroyed. ___________________ 11 - Don't Give Up! ___________________ Recommended Settings: EX: Freeze/Break Normal: Napalm/Break Targets: 8 T1-T4: Core T5-T8: Machine Gun Enemy IMMEDIATELY un-MIX your Normal weapons and use Freeze, otherwise you WILL die. Now move to a corner and use Break EX's to take out the enemies. Freeze the action every so often to keep your health up. Once the Machine Gun Enemies are destroyed, take out the Ants and Ant Spawners, then destroy the Cores. _____________________ 12 - My Box, My Enemy _____________________ Map: Coming Soon...? Targets: 5 T1: Box Frame T2: Machine Gun Boss T3-T4: Core T5: Box Frame I might draw a map in a future update if I think it's necessary. First, destroy all the bomb chains in the top right section (especially the one at the top of the screen) and kill the two Ninja Bots and Enemies WITHOUT SETTING OFF THE LOWER RIGHT BOMB CHAIN! If that chain starts up, restart the level. Now go to the Box and push it the following way: Up four times, Left twice, Down three times, Left twice, Up twice, Left twice, Up four times, Right five times, Up twice, Right four times, Down twelve times, Left ten times, And finally down twice. Now go to the lower left section and set off the bomb chain, then immediately boost dash around to the lower left corner, otherwise a Rock Box will block your path. Take out the nearby Machine Gun Boss to destroy the Gate to the third room. A Life 2 Box will drop down in case you need health. The rest of the level will contain both massive and mini enemies. Clear out the lower left room's mines and enemies to open the final Gate. The next small corridor will have a Life 1 Box to restore some health. Clear out the enemies in the last room, destroy the Cores, and finally push the Box in the following manner: Up once, Right six times, Up three times, Left once, Up three times, Right once, Up twice, Left four times, Down six times, Left three times, Up twice, Left twice, Down six times, Left twice, Up ten times, And finally right twice. The level is cleared once the Box is in the Box Frame. ______________ 13 - Flies Fly ______________ Recommended Setting: All Bounce/Break Targets: 4 T1-T4: Core Counterattack to take out the enemies and Spawners, then take out the Cores. __________________ 14 - Cutting Loose __________________ Recommended Setting: All Break/Bounce Targets: 8 T1-T8: Cannon One counterattack at about 70-80 charge. Seriously, that's all it takes. _____________________ 15 - I Hate Big Mines _____________________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Any Normal: Any Targets: 8 T1-T8: Mega Mine Two fully charged counterattacks, each released as the Mega Mines get close. That's all it takes. ____________________ 16 - Mine, All Mine! ____________________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Any Targets: 8 T1-T8: Spawner Just tap L or R three times for quick counterattacks. The Spawners should go down quickly. ___________________ 17 - Belly of Beast ___________________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 8 T1-T8: Machine Gun Enemy Use fully charged counterattacks until you run out of EX, then keep shooting Bounce shots to take down whatever's left. _______________ 18 - Tanks Only _______________ Recommended Settings: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Bounce/Break Targets: 8 T1-T8: Tank First, take out the tanks directly above, below, and to the sides of you, then take out the corner tanks. Now remove the walls and counterattack until the target tanks are destroyed. ____________________ 19 - Bunch o' Drills ____________________ Recommended Setting: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 4 T1-T4: Drill Boss All you need is three fully charged EX attacks. Simple enough. Make sure to hold L or R immediately after the previous one fires, otherwise you might not survive. ____________________ 20 - I Hate Bat Bots ____________________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Any Targets: 2 T1-T2: Mega Mine First, use a counterattack on the shots launched by the Heavy Bounce Cannons, Then launch a second counterattack on the shots reflected by the Bat Bots. The second attack should destroy the Mega Mines. _______________ 21 - Drill Boss _______________ Recommended Setting: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 3 T1-T3: Drill Boss Use counterattacks and fully charged EX attacks to take out the three Drill Bosses. Be sure to watch out for the Air Mines. ___________ 22 - Spikey ___________ Recommended Setting: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 4 T1-T4: Spawner Use fully charged EX attacks to take out the Mega Mine Spawners one at a time. Otherwise the Mega Mines will probably overwhelm you. _____________ 23 - Spikey 2 _____________ Recommended Setting: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 4 T1-T4: Spawner Exactly the same as Spikey, but the Spawners launch TWO Mega Mines each. _____________ 24 - Ant Farm _____________ Recommended Setting: All Bounce/Napalm Targets: 8 T1: Spawner T2-T8: Core Use EX attacks and boost dashes to rush to the top of the stage and take out the Ant Spawner, then take out any remaining Ants, and finally destroy the Cores to clear the stage. __________________ 25 - Getting Antsy __________________ Recommended Setting: All Bounce/Napalm Targets: 1 T1: Core Another Ant stage? Well, there's two more later, so get use to it. Use Napalm shots to take out the Ants as you descend into the hill. Use EX attacks for larger groups and Spawners to keep the action from getting too large. Take down the Core at the bottom to clear the stage. ________________ 26 - Cannon Boss ________________ Recommended Setting: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 3 T1-T3: Cannon Boss Just keep counterattacking until the Cannon Bosses are destroyed. _________________ 27 - Batting Cage _________________ Recommended Setting: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 6 T1-T6: Cannon Boss Open each corridor, then counterattack as the Cannon Bosses shoot at you. Simple enough. _____________________ 28 - Strike! Yer Out! _____________________ Recommended Setting: Bat/Reflect is all you need. Targets: 3 T1: Big Bot Use Bat and Reflect to move the baseballs and Bat Bots to the far end of the stage. Use these projectiles to take out the Big Bots and clear the stage. ________________ 29 - Bat 'n Ball ________________ Recomnmended Setting: Bat/Reflect is all you need. Targets: 5 T1-T3: Big Bot T4-T5: Spawner Just like Strike! Yer Out!: Bat/Reflect everything in your path and take out the Big Bots and Spawners to clear the stage. _____________ 30 - Longai-O _____________ Recommended Setting: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Longai-O There are THREE Longai-o to take down, each one bigger than the last... the target is at 4x size. Good luck. Seriously. Actually, the usual "EX during their dash" strategy works best here for all three Longai-O's. Each Longai-O is separated by a column of Gates, and you have buildings and Life Boxes to destroy to open the gates, allowing you to replenish your health and EX. _______________ 31 - Big Circle _______________ Recommended Setting: Any Targets: 1 T1: Core Way too easy, just boost dash to the Core and EX. _____________________ 32 - Balls 'n Baddies _____________________ Recommended Setting: Any Targets: 1 T1: Core Simply boost dash into the soccer balls repeatedly until the Enemies are all destroyed and the Gate disappears _____________ 33 - baNGai-O _____________ Recommended Setting: EX: Reflect/Napalm Normal: Any Targets: 6 T1-T3: Fast Bot T4-T6: Bat Bot Oddly enough, you can use Reflect on the enemies at the bottom of the screen and start a chain reaction. Use Reflect on the enemies, then quickly hit them with a Napalm EX. This should destroy everything as long as the Fast Bots were hit by Reflect - make sure they're not moving to ensure this. _________________ 34 - Four Stories _________________ Recommended Settings: EX: Napalm/Break Normal: Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core Another Gate level. Take out each row of enemies to remove the Gates blocking the next set. Be careful on the last set, as there are multiple Machine Gun Enemies positioned in the same spot. Your best bet in this level is to bounce shots up to each row of enemies and EX the last row. _______________ 35 - Core Score _______________ Recommended Setting: EX: Bounce/Napalm Normal: Bounce/Break Targets: 7 T1-T7: Spawner Bounce shots upward to destroy as many enemies as you can, then use EX attacks when down to Ninja Bots and Fast Bots. Pretty simple. _________________ 36 - Shoot 'em Up _________________ Recommended Settings: Method #1: All Break/Bounce Method #2: Any, although Bat and Reflect might help Targets: 1 T1: Core If you want a challenge, use Method #1. If you're looking for the easy way out, use Method #2 Method #1: Simply run and gun your way to the top of the stage. Use EX attacks every so often to keep your health in check. Once you reach the top, take out the Hut to clear the stage. Method #2: Use boost dashes, Bat attacks, or Reflects to push the soccer balls upward and block incoming shots and simply make your way to the Hut. ___________ 37 - Batboy ___________ Recommended Settings: Reflect is all you need. Targets: 1 T1: Bat Bot Really simple: Walk forward and Reflect diagonally right then keep Reflecting until the Bat Bot dies. If this doesn't work, start using Bat attacks to finish it off. __________________ 38 - Wooden Boxing __________________ Recommended Setting: Bounce is all you need. Targets: 1 T1: Hut This one's similar to Falling Rock. Destroy the Wood Boxes and make your way underneath the Rock Boxes. Once you're over the Hut, simply shoot down and the shots will bounce into the Hut and destroy it. __________ 39 - Manda __________ Recommended Settings: Any Targets: 3 T1: Spawner This reminds me of the gun walls in Gradius. Take out the surrounding Cannons, then dash into the corridors containing the Spawners and destroy them. _______________ 40 - Hate Grows _______________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core Get to the top of the stage, set up an opening to the center area, and bounce shots inside to take everything out without taking much damage. Once the coast is clear, rush in and destroy the Core. _________________ 41 - Heartstopper _________________ Targets: 4 T1-T2: Spawner T3-T4: Laser Cannon A very important note: DO NOT leave the starting chamber for ANY REASON! that is, unless you WANT to face a massive Drill Boss Spawner. First, lure the mini Drill Boss away from the Spawner to destroy the target, then kill the Drill Boss. Now remove the wall and simply shoot forward. Again, DO NOT LEAVE the room until the other Spawner is destroyed. Destroy the mega Drill Boss Spawner and Laser Cannons to clear the level. _________________ 42 - Enemy Ambush _________________ Recommended Setting: All Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core For an ambush, this is a pretty bad setup. Make your way to the bottom of the stage and shoot through the small gap to split the enemies from the Spawners, then go around to the right side and EX the Spawners into oblivion to clear the stage. _______________ 46 - DS of Doom _______________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Napalm Targets: 8 T1: Big Bot T2: Mech T3: Building T4: Hut T5-T7: Ninja Bot T8: Laser Cannon get to the left side of the "hinge" and open up the two walls, then unleash a fully charged EX attack to the right. This should at least severely damage most of the targets, making it easier to destroy them. Use angled shots to take out whatever's left. ____________________ 47 - Valley of Death ____________________ Recommended Setting: All Bounce/Break Targets: 6 T1-T2: Building T3-T4: Prefab T5-T6: Firework Laser Cannon Just angle your shots and keep moving forward to widen your path. Take out all the buildings and the two Firework Cannons at the end of the path to complete the stage. You don't even have to face the Machine Gun Boss at the end. ___________________ 48 - Marine Sisters ___________________ Targets: 4 T1-T3: Tank T4: Core Super Mario Bros. makes an appearance... kind of. Use counterattacks to take down most of the Tanks. Destroy the three target Tanks and the "Flag" Core to beat this level. _______________ 49 - Which Way? _______________ Recommended Setting: All Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core Make your way down the stage in the following order: Left, Right, either, Right, and finally Left. These sides have the fewest enemies to face (at the end, the "put 4 in the same spot" concept is used). Take out the Core at the bottom to clear the stage. ___________ 50 - P-TYPE ___________ Recommended Setting: All Break/Bounce Targets: 5 T1-T4: Core T5: Cannon Boss Stage 4 of R-Type returns! First, take out the T1 Core and Cannon Boss in the front, then work you way around the bottom of the stage and take out the T2 and T3 Cores. Finally, work you way to the top of the stage and destroy the T4 Core to finish the stage. ______________ 51 - Trap City ______________ Recommended Setting: Any Targets: 5 T1-T2: Core T3-T5: Spawner First, remove the bombs, then quickly boost dash up to keep a column of Rock Boxes from falling. Now quickly go to the top of the stage and take out the Spawners before they spawn Machine Gun Enemies. Once the Spawners and Machine Gun Enemies are taken out, destroy the two Cores to clear the stage. ___________________ 52 - Classic Arcade ___________________ Recommended Setting: All Bounce/Break Targets: 8 T1-T8: Spawner Pac-Man returns! The targets (all Spawners) represent the power pellets and ghosts from the classic Namco game. Simply destroy all the Spawners to end the stage. ____________________ 53 - Laser Labyrinth ____________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 3 T1-T3: Core Bounce shots into the Laser Cannons to clear a path to the top, then take out the Heavy Cannons, Firework Cannons, and Cores to clear the stage. _____________________ 54 - Strongest Shield _____________________ Recommended Setting: Method #1: All Break/Bounce Method #2: Any Targets: 7 T1-T7: Box Frame Method #1: Blast through the Boxes and use counterattacks to take out all the Machine Gun Enemies and Spawners, then push the Boxes into the Box Frames... Method #2: ...or just push ALL the Boxes in a line slowly upward. This way, you're harder to hit, making it easier to reach the Box Frames. Slow, yes. Easier than method #1, probably. ________________ 55 - Smorgasbord ________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 6 T1: Big Bot T2: Cannon Boss T3: Drill Boss T4: Machine Gun Boss T5: Mega Mine T6: Ninja Bot First, open the bottom right chamber and push the sports balls into the chamber. Keep boosting into the balls until the area is cleared of enemies. Use a similar approach to clear out the Big Bot in the top left room. Now just pick any of the remaining rooms and destroy all of the enemies with EX attacks and Bounce shots to clear the stage. __________________ 56 - Screamin' Sky __________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Homing Targets: 4 T1-T4: Napalm Cannon Take out the outer Cannons of each structure with EX attacks, then destroy the inner Napalm Cannons to clear the stage. _________________ 57 - Flying Wedge _________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core Use counterattacks to take out the two groups of Enemies. Once the enemies are cleared out, destroy the Core to clear the stage. _____________________ 58 - Fun With Gravity _____________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 5 T1: Core T2-T5: Spawner For each Spawner, boost dash into the nearby group of Wood Boxes to destroy the targets. Destroy all the enemies to clear out the Gates, then destroy the Core to clear the stage. _______________ 59 - Deep Space _______________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Homing Targets: 6 T1-T6: Bomb Use Homing shots to take out the outer Laser Cannons, then destroy the Bombs inside. Pretty simple. _________________ 60 - War in Space _________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 7 T1-T5: Core T6: Machine Gun Boss T7: Core Most. Evil. Level. Ever. (At least from the levels I've seen). The first thing you'll notice in the level is the crapload of bullets that are heading your way. The second thing you'll notice is the group of Fast Bots rushing your way soon after you start. Use a counterattack to take down most of the Cannons, and either use the Air Mines above you or use Bounce shots to take down the Fast Bots. Once the bottom half is mostly clear, drop to the lower left corner and destroy the T6 Machine Gun Boss (Bounce shots work perfectly here), then take out the T1 and T4 Cores. You'll likely release the Longai-O by now, so take it out (somehow) and then destroy the T5 Core. Next, take out the Firework Cannons in the top right corner to reach the T2 and T7 Cores. Finally, destroy the cannons in the upper left area and destroy the T3 Core to clear the stage. Try not to release the Boss enemies in the top left corner (unless you want to face a Drill Boss, a Cannon Boss, and a massive Big Bot), but if you save this core for last, it shouldn't be a big deal. You could take out the T3 Core before the T2 and T7 Cores, but it's easier to dodge the Air Mines than the Boss enemies. _____________________ 61 - Cannon Cavalcade _____________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 4 T1-T4: Napalm Enemy Each chamber has four massive enemies in it, and they all have to be destroyed to unlock the next room. Use counterattacks to clear the rooms quickly, and use the health pickups from the Life Boxes to keep your health up. Clear out all of the rooms to finish the stage. __________________ 62 - Home Invasion __________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Core Sort of another Gate level, only bomb chains are used instead. Anyway, clear out each section of Cannons and Enemies before opening up the next one and eventually destroy the Core at the top to clear the stage. _________________ 63 - To The Core! _________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: T1: Core If you can beat Enemy Ambush, you can beat this level. Use the same angled shot strategy from that level, but this time throw in more EX attacks to take out the Machine Gun Enemies. Destroy the bomb chains to reveal the Core. Take down the Core to beat the stage. __________________ 64 - Journey's End __________________ Recommended Setting: All Break/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Core Why make such a huge stage? Seriously? Take out the Cannons, Enemies, and Machine Gun Enemies as you zigzag through this insanely long level to reach the Core at the end of the stage. ___________________ 65 - The Name Is... ___________________ Recommended Setting: All Break/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Core Just blast your way through the top half of the stage and EX your way to the Core. Simple enough. _______________ 66 - Four Rooms _______________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core There are four paths to choose, each holding different types of enemies. The top left has only Cannons, the top right has only Homing Cannons, the bottom left has Enemies and Bounce Enemies, and the bottom right has Machine Gun Enemies and Homing Enemies. Personally, I'd say the top left route is the easiest to clear. If you want to try taking out other rooms, there's a Life 2 Box at each exit. In any case, make your way to the bottom and destroy the Core to clear the stage. _____________________ 67 - Hidden Fortress? _____________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 2 T1-T2: Core Destroy the Cannons, Enemies, and Spawners to reveal six bomb chains that clear the way to the two Cores. Take out the Cores to clear the stage. _______________ 68 - Boy's Room _______________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Core Another Enemy Ambush style level. Angle your shots to hit the Cannons and enemies around corners and breeze through this one. Be sure not to get stuck under the Rock Boxes near the end. ______________ 69 - Horoscope ______________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Core Take the third path from the bottom to have the easiest enemies to defeat. Make your way across to the far end of the level and destroy the Core at the end. ____________ 70 - Battle City ____________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 5 T1: Spawner Way too simple. Just set a fixed shot diagonally up and right before the stage begins. The rest will play itself out. ______________ 71 - Adventure ______________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 4 T1-T4: Spawner This might as well have been an Ant level. Shoot your way down the level and take out the Spawners and bomb chains to continue you descent. Destroy all the Spawners to clear the level. ________________ 72 - Demon's Den ________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 6 T1: Tank T2: Napalm Enemy T3: Heavy Napalm Cannon T4: Firework Cannon T5: Life 1 T6: Machine Gun Enemy There are six rooms, each of which has a target in it (except room 2; it has two targets). Use the tried and true angled Bounce shots to clear out all of the rooms untouched. Empty out all of the rooms to clear the stage. ________________ 73 - Dirty Alien ________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 8 T1-T5: Heavy Homing Cannon T6-T7: Firework Napalm Cannon T8: Core Think of this one as Hate Grows with more enemies. Bounce in shots from the top of the level, then take out the Core when the coast is clear. _________________ 74 - Door of Fate _________________ Recommended Setting: All Break/Bounce Targets: 2 T1: Cannon Boss T2: Drill Boss First, take out the Machine Gun Enemies on each side of you. Once the bottom area is cleared you can simply bounce shots up the the boss enemies. If you need health, there's a Life 1 Box at the top of the stage. _____________ 75 - Barrage! _____________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 4 T1-T4: Bomb Take out as many Cannons as you can and make your way to the far end of the stage, then destroy all the Spawners you can. Half the Spawners can be hit from behind through a corridor, while the other half must be hut through a small gap. Once the Spawners are destroyed, shoot through the small gaps to destroy the Bombs and clear the stage. ____________________ 76 - Bounce Me Baby! ____________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break (Napalm/Homing EX may also work) Targets: 8 T1: Bounce Enemy T2: Homing Enemy T3: Enemy T4-T8: Machine Gun Enemy This is probably the first level you actually NEED to use Bounce. Take out the bomb chain and make your way through the subsequent rooms and destroy anything in your path. After passing the first Core, the level turns into another Enemy Ambush area; use angled shots to make it through here easily. There are two ways through the final chamber: 1) Use a Napalm/Homing EX to overwhelm the Machine Gun Enemies... 2) ...or launch EX attacks into the Cores, then counterattack the reflected bullets directly at the Machine Gun Enemies. Either way, take the Machine Gun Enemies down to clear the stage. _____________ 77 - Ant Nest _____________ Recommended Settings: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Core The Ants return! Use a counterattack on the Cannons at the beginning, then use angled Napalm shots to take down the Ants as you descend into the stage. Go down the left side first to open the path to the Core. Watch out for both massive and mini Ants as you get closer to the Core. Destroy the Core to complete the level. ____________________ 78 - Buried Fortress ____________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 7 T1-T7: Core If you're going for a high score, blast your way down through all the rooms. If you just want to survive, head through the upper path instead - it takes you straight to the T2 Core. Use EX attacks to take out large groups of enemies and angled shots for the smaller groups. Clear the stage by destroying the seven Cores at the bottom of the stage. _______________ 79 - No Vacancy _______________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 3 T1-T3: Core More angled shots, but this time, you shoot straight to make the angles. Make your way to the far corners of the stage and destroy the Cores in order to win. __________________ 80 - Path o' Paths __________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core More angled shots! Make your way up, then left in order to destroy the first bomb chain. Make sure to boost dash back because the path will be sealed off by Rock Boxes. At the split, go down first to open the last barrier to the Core, then head right. Take down all the enemies released by the last bomb chain, the destroy the Core to complete the level. _____________________ 81 - Gobs of Enemies! _____________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core Will the angled shots ever not work? Anyway, keep using angled shots and counterattacks to make your way to the Core. At the top of the stage you'll face a Cannon Boss, and a Big Bot will be waiting near the Core. Use Bounce shots aimed ath the floor in front of you and the Big Bot will take damage with every other swing of his sword. _____________________ 82 - Fire When Ready! _____________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core This time counterattacks and boost dashes are the name of the game. Boost dash into any Wood Boxes you see to launch enemies into each other (particularly useful on the Fast Bot near the start). Take out the bomb chains, Cannons, and enemies as you make your way to the Core at the end. ____________________ 83 - Black and White ____________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 3 T1: Core T2-T3: Machine Gun Boss Yet again, angled shots work best. You'll face mostly Cannons and enemies until you reach the far side of the stage, where you'll face two Machine Gun Bosses and a Cannon Boss. Take out the Machine Gun Bosses and the Core hiding behind the Cannon Boss to clear the level. _____________________ 84 - Aim for the Top! _____________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 3 T1-T3: Core Work your way to the top of the stage, destroying the enemies, Cannons, and target Cores along the way. Each Core has a Life 1 Box under it to give you health along the way. Destroy all three Cores to clear the stage. _____________________ 85 - Meet at the Top! _____________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 3 T1: Core T2-T3: Spawner Same as Aim for the Top! with the following changes: 1) Fewer (if any) Machine Gun Enemies 2) A Machine Gun Boss appears before the first Core 3) The first Core is no longer a target, and a bomb chain appears under it. 4) The T2 Core is now a Spawner. 5) A target Spawner is added near the final Core. 6) Two bomb chains and a Fast Bot guard the final Core. Basically, use the same strategy for Aim at the Top! for this stage. ____________________ 86 - Detonation Maze ____________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 1 T1: Core Take out the enemies in each area, then destroy the bomb chains to open up the next section of the stage. Be careful of the two Ninja Bots after the first bomb chain is destroyed. Take out the Core at the end to clear the stage. ___________________ 87 - GO! GO! Right! ___________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 4 T1-T3: Core T4: Cannon Boss The name says it all - keep moving right and take out anything in your path. After a few groups of Cannons and Enemies, you'll need to take out a bomb chain with angled shots, the proceed to the first Core. Keep moving right and take out two more bomb cores. Next, take out the Fast Bots in your path, then proceed to destroy the Mega Mine and Cannon Boss in the next areas. Now remove the final bomb chain and preceed to the second Core. Take out the Core to finish the stage. _____________________ 88 - GO! Right! Again _____________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 5 T1-T2: Machine Gun Enemy T3-T5: Core Similar to GO! GO! Right!. Immediately boost dash into the first Core and destroy it, then take out the surrounding enemies. Destroy the second Core in a similar fashion and take the health pickup from the Life 2 Box. Now destroy the first bomb chain, destroy all the enemies and Cannons (including the two target Machine Gun Enemies), and destroy the second bomb chain to open the path to the final Core. The last chambers will be guarded by almost everything imaginable - a Drill Boss, two Cannon Bosses, a Machine Gun Boss, a bomb chain, four Rock Boxes, and multiple Cannons and Enemies, so be on your guard as you approach the final Core. Take out the last Core to complete the level. _________________ 89 - Rock & Mines _________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Core Keep shooting down anything you see as you descend to the Core at the bottom of the stage. Try not to move too fast, or you might become overwhelmed by the enemies around you. Take out the Core to clear the stage. __________________ 90 - Uphill Battle __________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 2 T1-T2: Core Make your way to the top of the stage and destroy the two Cores. Prety simple, just don't go too fast and you should be fine. __________ 91 - OMG!! __________ Recommended Settings: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 2 T1: Core T2: Spawner Use angled shots to get through the initial descent and ascent (watch out for Rock Boxes), then use EX attacks on the Machine Gun Bosses. In case you need health, the next Spawner drops Life 1 Boxes, so have at it. Once you're ready, destroy the Spawner, push the Box forward, and use an EX attack to destroy the next group of enemies (especially the THREE Ninja Bots). Now just make your way to the target Spawner and Core and destroy them to clear the stage. _____________________ 92 - 4 Drill Brothers _____________________ Recommended Settings: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 4 T1-T4: Drill Boss Each Core in this level has at least one bomb chain behind it, so be sure to take them all out. Also, a Life 2 Box Spawner can be found in the top right corner of the stage. Simply make your way to the top of the stage and take out the 4 Drill Bosses to complete the level. Beware of the Machine Gun Boss near the end of the stage. _____________________ 93 - Coming and Going _____________________ Recommended Settings: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 2 T1-T2: Core This level has a specific pattern: 1) Go to the right side of the stage, destroy a Core, a group of enemies, or both, and destroy the nearby bomb chain. 2) Head back to the start, enter the new area, destriy the new enemies, Core, and bomb chain. 3) Repeat 1 and 2 over and over until the final Core is revealed. You'll meet lots of enemies, Ninja Bots, and Fast Bots before you reach the end, so be prepared witha full EX gauge. Destroy all the Cores to complete the level. _________________ 94 - Mimic Battle _________________ Recommended Settings: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 3 T1-T2: Core T3: Spawner This level is full of Fast Bots, so watch your back here. You'll first make a counter-clockwise outer spiral towards the two Cores. After the second Core is destroyed, you'll have to destroy bomb chains to open the paths to the Spawner. Work your way to the bottom of the stage, then back around to the Spawner at the top. The stage is cleared when the Cores and the Spawner are destroyed. _____________ 95 - Big Shot _____________ Recommended Settings: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 3 T1-T3: Core Head to the right side of the stage first to take out the T1 Core. Now descend and destroy the bomb chain to access the bottom half of the stage. Once the path is open, make your way to the bottom left corner of the level and destroy the T2 Core. Now go right , destroy the Machine Gun Boss, and make your way up to and destroy the T3 Core to clear the level. _______________ 96 - Big Wheels _______________ Recommended Settings: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 8 T1: Core T2-T5: Machine Gun Boss T6: Spawner T7-T8: Machine Gun Boss Each chamber in this stage has a Machine Gun Boss, and the last chamber has two of them. As long as you use your EX attacks correctly, you should be fine. There are multiple Life 2 Boxes scattered through the stage to provide health, should you need it. Make your way through each chamber, take out the Machine Gun Bosses, Cores, and other enemies, and destroy the Spawner at the end to clear the stage. _____________________ 97 - Fight! Bangai-O! _____________________ Recommended Settings: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 6 T1: Core T2: Fast Bot T3: Machine Gun Boss T4-T6: Drill Boss This seems like some reverse stage to me. The enemies at the start are massive, yet the Drill Bosses and the Big Bot are miniaturized. O_o Anyway, work your way to the top of the stage, taking out all the enemies, Bosses, and Cores, leading to the large chamber with the Machine Gun Boss. Take out all the enemies in this room to open the Gate to the last chamber. Take the health pickup if you need it, then destroy the Mega Mines and Drill Bosses to complete the stage. ________________ 98 - Enemy Crush ________________ Recommended Settings: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Mega Mine Another reverse world... massive Spawners release mini enemies... Each chamber has a 4-enemy Spawner and a Life 2 Box. Clear out each room to remove the Gate to the next room. Make your way to the top of the stage and destroy the massive Mega Mine to clear the level. ___________________ 99 - Not More Ants? ___________________ Recommended Settings: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 3 T1-T2: Ninja Bot T3: Mega Mine First, take out the Bat Bots and Napalm Enemy to reach the bomb chain. Once the Rock Box lowers, quickly boost dash down to keep the Big Bot from moving too far. Take out the Ninja Bot (use an EX or push the soccer ball into it), then go back and destroy the Big Bot. Now remove the bomb chain nearby. You have two options to finish the stage: 1) Run through the bottom of the stage and mess with all of the Ants, then ascend to the final chamber and destroy the Spawners and Mega Mines... 2) ...or aim diagonall down and right into the gap opened up by the bomb chain. If you get into just the right spot, you can destroy the Mega Mines from this spot. Either way, destroy the Mega Mines to clear the stage. _____________________ 100 - Boxes o' Bosses _____________________ Recommended Settings: All Napalm/Bounce Targets: 6 T1: Drill Boss T2: Cannon Boss T3: Machine Gun Boss T4: Big Bot T5: Machine Gun Enemy T6: Bomb Box Each target has its own separate room to fight in. Forst, take out the Drill, Cannon, and Machine Gun Bosses, and destroy the nearby walls to access the Big Bot. Keep bouncing shots into the Big Bot and he should go down pretty easily. Use EX attacks to mow down the rows of enemies in the next area, then boost into the soccer balls and baseballs to destroy the Machine Gun Enemy. Finally, head to the left side of the stage and shoot the Bomb Boxes to clear the stage. _____________________ 101 - Castle of Fools _____________________ Recommended Settings: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Break/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Wood Box ...All this to destroy a Wood Box? Just run through thr rooms and shoot everything down. There are two Life 1 Boxes near the top of the stage if you start to run low on health. Otherwise, go nuts on this one. __________________ 102 - Distant Goal __________________ Recommended Settings: All Break/Bounce Targets: 7 T1-T4: Machine Gun Enemy T5: Core T6: Machine Gun Boss T7: Spawner For a later stage, this one's simple. Run through the level and use angled shots to take out the Enemies and Machine Gun Enemies. About halfway through the level you'll reach a Core with a Life 2 Box behind it, followed soon afterward by a Machine Gun Boss. After the Machine Gun Boss goes down, make your way to the top right corner and destroy the Spawner to clear the level. ____________________ 103 - Annoying Stage ____________________ Recommended Settings: EX: Break/Bounce Normal: Napalm/Bounce Targets: 1 T1: Core Man, they weren't kidding, this stage IS annoying! The level is simple enough until right at the very end. Sure, the Ninja Bots near the top of the stage are tough, but that's nothing compared to the Big Bot at the end. Hit it with Napalm shots at an angle and it should eventually go down. Take out the Core at the end of the level to finish the stage. ___________________ 104 - Having a Ball ___________________ Recommended Settings: EX: Napalm/Bounce Normal: Bounce/Break Targets: 4 T1-T2: Spawner T3: Bat Bot T4: Core Use angled shots for the first half of the level, from the first Cannon Boss to the Big Bot. Use EX attacks to take down the Machine Gun Boss and the second Cannon Boss. For the Big Bot, shoot through all four narrow gaps to damage it quicker. Soon after, use another EX attack to quickly dispatch the Ninja Bots and Mines. Next, take out the Fast Bots and the second Machine Gun Boss, thenm take out the Cannons and bomb chain in the next corridor. Now destroy the Fast Bot, Air Mine Spawner, and Drill Boss to your right, then destroy the bomb chain to open the path to the left. Finally, take out the second Drill Boss, Bat Bot, Spawner, and Core with EX attacks to clear the stage. ___________________ 105 - Blue Triangle ___________________ Recommended Settings: All Bounce/Break Targets: 7 T1: Core T2: Machine Gun Boss T3-T7: Spawner Aim straight up at the beginning and you'll tak out all the enemies at the beginning. Now start to make your way up and tak out any enemies, Cannons, and Spawners you meet (especially the target Spawner). Next, take down the Machine Gun Boss and blow up the nearby bomb chain to open the next corridor. Now take out the Cannons in the corridor, take the health from the Life 1 Box if necessary, and proceed to the next Core. Destroy the Core and the bomb chain behind it to open the path below you. Take out the Cannon Boss and Air Mine Spawners as you head towards the center area. Note that the Spawner below the Cannon Boss cannot be destroyed if the Rock Box falls onto it. Next, take out the Drill Boss and any Enemies and Cannons behind it. Now enter the center area and take out the three Spawners to finish the level. ------------------------- The rest of the levels are the Tutorial missions. The data is converted into sound and played into a microphone for storage. Sound Test - Listen to the 16 songs or 117 (!) sounds in the game. Backup Data - Delete any created stages or replays... or all your data if you're into that sort of thing. Remember, anything you delete WILL be lost forever. BGM/Background - Turn music or backgrounds on or off.
