Question for Trace Memory

I am currently in chapter 3 and I need to use the stamps...How do I get them to work?
P.S.What do I use to open the bottle?
P.S.S. What am I supposed to do with the two pictures with weird symbols on them? It's okay if You just answer one...Most likely I only need to know one to figure it all out.

To use the stamps, zoom into the sketchbook. Open your inventory, then use the stamps. Close your DS twice, and you should finish the picture. To open the bottle, go back to the art studio and open the chest. Pick up the hammer, then head to Henry and Mary's room. Click on the bottle, then equip the hammer. A few taps on the bottle will break it.

For the pictures, transfer the picture with the orange background to the top screen, then put the blue picture on top of it, using the overlap button. Rotate the top portrait until it is pointing straight up and down. Then move it over to the other pattern until you clearly see: 2369. Use the code on the door at the end of the Moss Hall.

Just close your ds but DONT SWITCH IT OFF!!! And the stamps should work
