It seems that you can have only one profile for a single sim of your own design. Each profile is a seperate save file, and there will only be that sim you made in the town.

Ok guys on sims 3 in the manual it says live mode but I don't know how to put it on live mode so if you could please tell me that would help alot thanks

live mode is when you're playing the character, not building stuff for your house

I know that sucks and also doesn't make any sense.. You can make someone move in with you but not make another sim of your own :(
