I'm stuck

I'm stuck at the part where I need to use the boat but I can't find an oar or anything to use. How do I access the boat?

You need a chisel and a hammer to carve a canoe out of the log. Then this part is irritating. You gotta get at just the right angle or something. Theres the arrow, but everytime you tap it, it says examine canoe, right? Yeah, it's stupid. But keep trying different angles and ill work eventually.
