I am new to the game and just started playing but I can't get fire to start on the first island.do you need to get it lit up to continue and if not,what do I do?

To get your fire started, all youn do is when you have made your shelter, then right behind you there is an arrow pointing away from you and follow that path and you will come to some twiggs om the path pick them upand then go back to you shelter and light your fire
