I just went into the menu bit thing and I pressed a little button and the whole screen went pitch black how do I make the screen light up again?

You dont. Im sorry but it wont let you save and you have to power off. Same thing happened to me too...

I did the same thing and thought the game froze, so I just turned it off. It just turns both screens black to conserve energy if you're going to walk away from the DS for a while and leave it open. If you press where the button was, your screen will light up again.
