Question for The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

I am stuck in the mountain passage because I don't know what order the levers go in. I've checked the hints but they don't help so please help me

The clues work perfectly if you look at the switches first.

The first clue says 1st=second in from the left

The second clue says 2nd=1st left
last= 2nd from right

So if the switches are in order 1,2,3,4 you do switch 2,1,3,4
