Mermaid.
The old wayfarer at Bannon island talks about a mermaid. Where can I find this? Is it the prow on the stone ship set?
PS. Is there a fishing rod in the game?

The Mermaid is on Bannan Island.
Kill all the enemies on the Island.
Then look around in the water for someone floating around in an inflatable tube.
If you approach her, she will go to another spot on the island.
Use your Boomerang on her. She will talk to you.
Go see Linebeck after that and he will say some stuff.
Go back to the Wayfarers Hut to get your Rod.

She is on Bannan Island. Reaaly, she is a girl in a mermaid costume. Kill all the enemies on the docking part of the island. When the last enemy is dead, stay in position. Use boomerang to scope out the waters and hit the mergirl if she is there. Apologize, talk to the Wayfarer, talk to Linebeck and go back to Wayfarer.
There is a fishing rod in the game. After getting mergirl, talk to Wayfarer. You must then catch: toona, swordfish, Neptoona. Show the toona to him, then the swordfish when you get it, and eventually Neptoona.

You use your boomerang and aim at her then she will talk to you and then you just tell the man in the shack.

the mermaid is on bannan island. you kill al the monsters on the islane and look in the water. there will be a mermaid girl in an innertoob. use your boomerang on her. apologise to her then talk to linebeck. then go to the wafarer.

There is a fishing rod in the game that you get from the old wayfarer after finding the mermaid, to find the mermaid you need to kill all the monsters on the old wayfarers island and the mermaid will appear in the wate. To get it's attention you need to use the boomerang on it without getting too close or looking directly at it
