How do I get the compass back from the monkey ? In Chapter 5? I have hit the monkey loads of times with the bricks and tried to go near him when he is stunned to get it off him and all it does is kill me.

you should try to hit him with the bricks turn into the bager thing then grab it if that dosent work try it with the bird
the bird picks up the brick drop on the monkey it will stun it then turn into the cat and claw at the monkey eventually the monkey will run away may take a few stuns but it will work
