Ok you seen princess peach's room rigth the far rigth room if you climbed the staircase now just talk to the toad and ther will be bunnies in some rooms or even hallways and outside the castleget them with different characters. The bunnies will give you keys , keys for peach's drawer which are acually the mini games in the rec oh and bunnies also have collors for different characters:

MARIO:pink bunnies
LUIGI:green bunnies
WARIO:brown bunnies and
YOSHI:yellow bunnies

Ones you've collected all the bunnies of each characters there will be a sparkle bunny you have to catch 8 of them the last one will give you a key in the white room besides Wario's door

In order to unlock mario you have to get 8stars to open the door with the 8 on it once you do that you jump through the picture of mario.And once you fight off all the goombas you have to climb the vine
to defeat the king of goombas and you will have to defeat the goombas behind him while he is chasing you once you defeat him he will blow up and a kee will apper with a mario hat on it take the kee and it will take you back to the castle and unlock the door with the big M above it and you will become Mario you can also go back through the door to become Yoshi again.
