Question for Super Mario 64 DS

Hello... How do I unlock the "?" mark boxes? They are currently "invisible" so I can't break them, and all the walk throughs say is that I need them unlocked. Can someone help with this? Thank You in advance.

Once you've obtained 20 stars, a light should shine down on the sun dais in the antechamber of the castle. Step on the dais and enter first-person view. Then, look up at the source of the light and you'll be transported to the main turret of the castle with a big red button. Pound that button to activate the '!' boxes.
