Actually, you have to be Mario in order to get Luigi. Go to the Castle Courtyard and punch the big ghost, the one that holds a little cage, or something like that...
You have to wait a little bit to find him, but you will eventually. If you punch him, the cage will come out and you have to go close to it and you will jump in.

Now, you're in a nightmare, really. It's a place with ghosts everywhere and eyes that shoot stuff at you and bookcases that are mutated. Anyway, go into the center building and do a triple jump onto the second floor.

There are a bunch of rooms. Go to the one on the far left, and you'll be in a room with a bookshelf and a platform, and on that platform is a ? Box. Break it and you'll be a balloon. Float, JUST float, by repeatedly pressing B, and you'll see another platform.

Go to it, and pound the ground. Go through the door. You'll be in a room with a Luigi painting and a couple of doors. Ignore the doors, and jump through the Luigi painting.

You'll be in a spinning platform with an annoying Ghost laugh in the background.Once you enter the place, look to your right and go through that door. You'll be in another place. Run across that bridge, and run across the other bridge to your left. Go through that door. Now, jump onto the middle platform. Be quick, and jump to your right, and go through that door. Now, do a long jump (that's dash, crouch then quickly jump) (and, that's y+<, R+B) to your left.

Go through that door. Now, again, run across that bridge and ignore the ghosts and the painting. Now, travel your way through the annoying moving platforms and to the top. Now, you'll see a hole in the ground. Well, jump in that hole and you'll be in a room with a huge mirror. Go up to that mirror and you'll be reflected as Luigi.

After that, the big ghost you punched in the courtyard will be there. He's kinda hard, but kinda easy. He turns invisable for a while, but you can keep track of him by two ways- You can see where he goes and what he does by looking in the mirror, and you can see where he is by looking at his shadow. And, once he stops, look in the mirror, and you'll see that he transports to a different place.

Keep running around that room, that way he won't teleport to an exact location, and you have an advantage. At this point, you can't rely on the mirror, only the room. He turns visable, and you can punch him, but like any other ghost, you have to sneek up on him to punch him. You have to be quick, though because he WILL turn invisable again. You have to keep doing this 3 times.

Once you do, though, you will get the Luigi key. Phew, that took a while. Please rate this answer!

Let me help out a little with these questions. In Big Boo's Haunt, go uo to the 2nd level.Once you are on the 2nd level, go to the door on the far right. There will be a small platform and a trap door to the right. If you have been there before, that should help you out.

Go to the platform and use Mario to wall jump. If you jump high enough, you will see a platform with a door which you will need to get to. Go through that door and you will be in a room where you can go through the Luigi painting. The room with the Luigi painting is the same room that leads to Boo's Balcony on the right side, and on the left side is the secret room which I unfortunately can't get to.

When you go through Luigi's painting, you will hear a REALLY ANNOYING laughter in a merry-go-round just like the one in the basement. I remember that you first go to the door on the right, run along the collapsing ground to the left, and then take the moving platforms to the left. You'll get to a room with a large mirror. Run up to it so you are aligned with the mirror and just keep walking side t side until it stops and shows Luigi on the other side of the mirror. The King Boo will often bee on the inside or outside of the mirror. When hes inside, you can only see his reflection there and the shadow on the ground. Otherwise, you will see him without the mirror. Hope it helped.
