Super Mario 64 DS Red box dud

In Whomp's Fortress: Red Coins On The Floating Isle, the only red box in the whole level is not giving me the wing cap, instead it's constantly Dropping a Bob-omb. I'll wait for it to re-spawn, I'll exit the level, or play as one of the other two and get the Mario hat.. But no matter what I do, It's a dud... Anything I can do to fix this, or is it an unfix-able bug? Any help would be appreciated : D
