Question for SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis

I am at the part in the game where you have to defeat the flying gears, I'm using Sandy but I'm having a hard time defeating them, what should I do?

Jump up by pressing B and press Y for a karate chop one of those and they will blow up so try so run away fast because some times they will throw you off track
