Question for Spectrobes

How do you defeat the third boss on the 7th planet, cause when it has like 500 hp, it gets a white shield

Just super (full CH bar (A button)) to break the shield, which will take a couple of times.I figured it out the 3rd time I tried. Don't hit it physically!
P.S.
I got stuck the first two times since one: I hit him. Got frustrated. Let him kill me.
Second time: Hit him. Got angry. Kept hitting him (that's when I found a glitch- attack him at close range, the shield will actually be behind you, but still, no damage. Bummer.
