Hi, my english is not good. But I have the same problem. I can not activate the vilma phone. I press the A button,but nothing will happens....

You must change into Velma.
At the Velma box, touch the arrow on your screen, this will open the different characters.
Press the top arrow to scroll through the different characters until you find Velma.
Press the tick at the bottom to finish.
You are now Velma.
Press A to play the game.
You have change into Velma.
