Personally, I went with Tepig. You can teach it various good moves. However, the choice is up to you. There are no wrong choices!

It depends on what you want your team to be. If you want a Volcarona or a Simisear, Tepig would be bad. Don't use more that one of each type on your team. Personally, I would go with Snivy.

I personally would go with Tepig. I have a reason. He evolves into Pignite, which is also fighing. With Arm Thrust, you can easily defeat Lenora, the normal type & 2nd Pokemon leader.
