Personally, I always had the best luck with Tepig. Well, up until that little candle Pokemon kicked it's butt... But that's a different story! They're all really good, so pick whichever one you want. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I played with oshawott and I beat the game and am restarting and I need to know if snivy or tepid is better
Guest said: 25th May 2017 | REPORT
Oshawatt last evolution is the strongest and the gym leaders don't stand a chance against it .
Guest answered:

Well I would chosse tepig but you mite want to see if you can catch a electrick type Pokemon before you go to the first gym because the starter you choose will possibly be fighting it's opposite elemental enemy in the first gym(if you choose tepig you will fight a person with a water type Pokemon in the first gym so if you don't catch a electric type before going to the first gym your going to have a hard time

Tepig has 2 different types, is really tough, and kicks butt! FIRE FOREVER!

Why don't you like fighting and fire pokemon combined?
Guest said: 23rd Oct 2012 | REPORT
Chimchar is amazing! = ( I agree with torchic though
Guest said: 2nd Aug 2015 | REPORT
I think that snivy ( which is a grass type Pokemon ) and charmander ( which is a fire type Pokemon ) and piplul ( which is a water type Pokemon ) is the best. I think the second best starter pokemons are oshawott( which is a water type Pokemon ) and Bulbasaur ( which is the grass type Pokemon ) and torchic ( which is a fire type when it evolves it becomes a fighting and fire type ) is the second best. The third best starter pokemons are tepig ( which is a fire type but when it evolves to pignite it's a fighting type to ) and squirtle ( the water type Pokemon ) and chimchar ( which
is a fire type Pokemon )
Ran08 answered:

I don't know your preference, but as for me, I would choose Snivy. It's really pretty and you're better off with it. Anyway, I hope you'll have good luck with whatever you'll choose. =))

D.O.T,O answered:

I have always had grreat luck with the fire type and sucky with all the rest so I am going to choose tepig (I think thats the fire type) and I hope I have luck with that

Guest answered:

I would choose tepig because he is very strong when it evolves into emboar and it can learn very good moves and when it's lvl 75-100 it's unstoppable but granite you will faint and blackout a couple times during the game

Shock95 answered:

It doesn't manner because you will get the monkey that can help you through the 1st gym you can find other Pokemon along the way.

Guest answered:

I am currently using Serperior (Snivy's final evo), and well I haven't lost a match yet. But it doesn't learn CRAP for moves as it levels, and it can't be taught very many moves from TM's. It may have good stats and a good powerhouse against the types weak against it. But barely stands a chance against soemthing it's weak against unless your much higher lvled (Which really seems to matter a lot more in this game). I'm to about the Pokeleague and am having a hard time finding Pokemon to balance out the team for it. Serperior being the issue seeing as there are no Water, Rock or ground types in this one.

for the leage i would use samourot, lantern, galvantula, gigalith,if you can get electross use him,and any fire type
Guest said: 23rd Jun 2011 | REPORT
I would choose oshawott because his final evolution, samurott is FTW.
Guest said: 15th Dec 2014 | REPORT
I chose Snivy and won the Pokémon League. I used a Mienshao, Snivy (yes it didn't ever evolve), and a Zoroark. Snivy is really agile and has a great defense, so that's why I chose it. To me it's the best starter. Btw: not every starter you get is a boy. If you're really lucky you may get a girl.
Guest answered:

Go with oshawoott!it levels up super quick, and it's 2 & 3rd evolvtions are STRONG!!!

I choose oshawott but I have a kyurem lv 77 and all my Pokemon even my egg and a blastoise lv 100 and a haxorus lv 53 and a zoroark lv 63 swanna lv 38

Guest answered:

If I were you I would pick tepig

Guest answered:

I would pick tepog because when I had oshawot he sucked but then tepig owned every one and without him I probaly would of taken ages to complete the game. Smile

Guest answered:

I would choose oshawot because I beat all the gyms in 2 days with him and after the first one he evolved

Guest answered:

When oshawot get to lvl 20 it can kick butt.you shold really get oshawot.

Guest answered:

Oshawot is the best it is immposible to resist his cuteness.

Guest answered:

Choose tepig he ownes with hes evolutions as they are both 2 typed unlike the others and snivy and oshawatt suck on the gyms after the first one

Guest answered:

I just used oshawott and now I can't beat the pokeleage choose tepig

Guest answered:

There is no "best starter" to be honest... It all really depends on what you would like. The final evolved forms of all of the starters have the same base stat total of 528, but the stats aren't distributed evenly. Serperior is the second fastest of all of the starter Pokemon, losing only to sceptile of Hoenn, but other than grass and normal-type moves, the only rasonably strong attacks he can learn are areial ace and dragon tail. Emboar is the only starter that gets a type combination(fire/fighting), but his defense is very poor. He can learn lots of alternative moves to his initial fire typing, however. He can learn Head Smash, Areial Ace, Scald(a shadow ball strong water-type move), lots of fighting moves like Hammer Arm, in addition to grass knot, earthquake and rock slide, ect. Samurott is just a water-type, but unlike many starter Pokemon, he can learn Megahorn, an extremly powerful bug-type move via the move relearner at LV1, in addition to ice beam, dragon tail, ect. It's hard to pick which one is the BEST one, but I personally prefer Serperior due to it's speed and power.

Guest answered:

I have heard that Snivy stinks, and if you choose him you will most likely have a problem with the ice-type gym. I choose Oshawott, and he beat the gyms VERY easily, and he managed most of the Elite Four himself when he was Samourott. But Tepig would be my second choice.

Snivy does not suck i use him and he can some very powerful moves like grass not allowing him to defeat big oppenents. and about the gym just get a rock type like boldore or dwebble to make it extremly easy
Guest said: 8th Jul 2014 | REPORT
I always pick water.or grass but in this game I really regretted it. Yep if is definitely the best out of them all. I hated snivy and oshawott there move set wasn't as good as I hopped definitely pick tepig
Guest answered:

Tepig because 1 in real life fire beats grass and water puts out fire and goes away 2 MY EXPERIENCE

Not unless there is alcohol in the fire then in that case water makes the fire burn even more.
Guest answered:

Tepig is the cake walk beginner Pokemon honestly. It's a freaking powerhouse and it evloves and stays a powerhouse. So yes, if you want a easy game and quick matches against the first three, and maybe fourth (it's kind of equalled out then) gyms go for it. I chose Snivy though, and I spent about....2 or 3 hours running in the grass so I could level him up. Snivy is def. The hardest Pokemon to use for this game since it really doesn't have anything special about it and it's only really effected when it's against something that is weak to it. Like water types. But if I put it against like, dragon, or whatever it is OWNED. I hate water types (I dunno, they all turn out to be either butt ugly or have like a serious steriod problem or botox problem somewhere on their body) so I never chose them. I hate them >.< I think Snivy is the way to go. Plus for me it's always been REALLY hard to find a decent cute looking strong grass type if I don't chose the starter one. And I always chose grass; my sister is the idoit who always picks water and loses all her matches. Annoying as crap. Then she tells me to fight for her and I can't cause her team sucks. Just saying. Lol, so yeah. Tepig is a cake walk and Snivy is the most diffcult. At least that's how it seems since everyone is saying Tepig is the easiest and it's strong and everything else. No crap it's the Pokemon you chose for easy game play.

Sorry, but grass and fire are two of the most STUPID types I've ever seen! Water is way better, plus Oshawott is ADORABLE!

I think snivy to for Pokemon White and black
Guest answered:

OSHAWOTT 1 he is cute 2 he is awsome 3 ibeat all the gyms in a day.

Guest answered:

I always use water type starters but this time I took Tepig and I can say it's really usefull when it grows up. As a tepig it sucks.

Guest answered:

Tepig is raw go with tepig he is verey strong and the only gym I have a problem with is the 4th one

Guest answered:

Oshawott FTW you guys don't realise that just because tepigs strong doesnt mean that your going to win the game you have to also remember your other team members. There are alot of other power houses besides emboar and pignit and tepig. I personally chose oshawott because his final evolution is balanced out and other water types in this game have not really worked out that good. And for a fire type I used chandelure wgich is beast because it also is a ghost type. But it's up to you to decid ebecause the majority of votes is tepig but I'm just saying if you want an easier play through also rely on your other team members.

I think snivy said last evolved for is good against slow Pokemon e.g slowpoke and slowbro but is not good against spyduck because it can make spyduck dizzy and make his/ her headache worst than it can use disable attack which can stop snivys last form from moving quickly so spyduck has a little advantage against snivys last form.
Guest answered:

Oshawott. I always have a great game with it. For me It is very useful because I don't like other Gen. V water-type Pokemon, but I need surf, so I choose him.
(besides it is really cute and strong).

I think oshawotts last evolved form is good for defence and attack
Guest answered:

Personally I used Snivy and found out very quickly it's not a heavy hitter like Turtwig, it wasn't as good of a tank like Chikorita, it wasn't as fast as Treeko, and it wasn't as well rounded as Bulbasaur. That said if your going for Looks Serperior is fricken ballin'. If your going for Damage go Tepig, an if you want one that is good for fighting and as an HM slave use Oshawott, you can give him surf dive and waterfall, all of which are good combat moves.

Guest answered:

Well for me Snivy was beast I think it just depends on what Pokemon types your used to fighting with and know how to use them. Snivy isnt going to be like the Pokemon in your party because you'll need to rotate them for gym battles and so on But my Pokemon party is Serperior,Darmanitan,Starmie,Reshiram,Volcarona, and hydriegon( had a hard time with hydriegon second form wasnt as legit but I sticked with keeping him and he evolved and now he kicks ass. I had a little trouble fighting the elite four the first time but the second time for me was easier than the first. I never used the egg thingy to get more xp I just used the Exp share. When you verse the elite four get alot of reivives and hyper potion even it out with the money you have. Everytime you beat one of them save it so if you lose jus turn it off and turn it back on and think of a new stretegy. Your not going to win so easily I lost a good amoun of times.. Keep rotating to see who'll do more damage to who.

Guest answered:

Oh, it SEEMS like "Pick Snivy or Tepig, because Oshawatt is a no good, weak Pokemon!" Also have you seen how suckish Tepig and Snivy are? Oshawatt is cuter and stronger than both of them combined! Plus, if you have Diamond, Pearl, Platnium, Heart Gold, or Soul Silver, pick Piplup and Totodile! ( Like me!) It should be time Water types break down Fire and Grass!

Guest answered:

Im going to go with Tepig because his 3rd evolution is awesome, powerful, and can learn good moves so that is why I am choseing him in Pokemon white and Pokemon white 2

I think that tepigs last evolved form is good to beat fighting type Pokemon.
Guest answered:

Either snivy or oshawott. Don't take Tepig. His speed stats are low.

Guest answered:

I picked Oshawott. And in Pokemon Pearl, I picked Piplup. And it was AWESOME! I mean look, it evolved into an Empoleon. And if you lose with Oshawott, it's because you don't know how to handle the awesome power of water!

DWGaming answered:

I would advise Tepig, for Tepig has the least weaknesses and he's the only one I have ever gotten past the 2nd gym leader with.

I think that we should choose snivy, piplul, charmander and chikorita
Guest answered:

Snivy is better because it's a determined Pokémon that will never give up until the end!!!!!

Guest answered:

Tepig is my choice in relation to other generations. It has good hp and a flexible move pool and it doesn't care about loseing speed to hammer arm. Spicy seems like a faster, less bulky chickorita, and it can not learn many moves. But to it's credit, it is fast, and can be a good choice. Oshawott is a good choice, but sometimes it is outclassed by other water starters. If you have another game to transfer with I wouldn't choose oshawott. But although it lacks tepig's pig adorableness, oshawott has access to some good moves and it's evolutions have nice stats. I have tried all of the starters and it is really a matter of taste, but for this generation, I would choose tepig unless you are planning to use reshiram later on.
