I believe you are talking about the Yellow Apricorn, since there is no such thing as the Golden Apricorn. If I remember correctly, you should be able to find Yellow Apricorns on Routes 8, 42, and 46.

There are no Gold Apricorns, there never were any and there still aren't. Only Black, White, Red, Pink, Green, Yellow, and Blue.
