You keep it. If we're talking about the same egg, it should hatch into a Togepi. That would be your very first gift Pokemon of the game. Just train it, if you wish.

I did, and it's already a Togetic now. Haha. )

I evolved my togepi into a togetic then I evolved it again by using the shiny stone.
