I'm pretty sure that the red star on a summary page indicates a Shiny Pokemon. You should notice some different coloring of your pokemon as compared to what it should be. This is not a glitch.

It means that the Pokemon is shiny,unless you have used a cheat or you caught the red gyrados,you are very,very,very lucky.
