You can get a Scyther by catching one in the bug-catching contests that are held at the National Park on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The National Park is near the Pokeathlon Dome in Johto.

If you have pokemon platinum you could all ways trade it to soul silver/Heart gold if you have another ds or use sombodys thats what i do and it works really good thats how i got to the elite four
