Can you battle Steven somehow?Because,in Pokemon Emerald Version you can battle him and he was intense.

As far as I know there is no way to battle Steven. The only time you meet him is when he tells you about Latios or Latias and when he gives you a starter pokemon.

You should be able to battle him at the ruins of alph ... I don't know what prerequesites you need to do first..but when you battle hime his Pokemon are all at levels 70-80
