I did first try I found it really easy what you do is when he shoots loads of flames up and the flames fall on the ground touch a few to give you space then circle I did the whole 4 tasks in about 30 mins it was simple and entei easy as well just get rid of the magmar and hes a sitting duck hope it helps!!

You have to capture him it's hard but keep trying I would suggest to use a
Primeape or sceptile
